Hi This is our story. I'm Polish. I came to USA for the first time in June 2006. Me and my 3 girlfriends came here on work visas for summer only from the program called Work&Travel that helps Polish students come to USA to work. So we came to Alabama and while we were waiting for our SS numbers to be able to start working we were soaking up the sun and resting ;-) My now brother-in-law spot one of my girlfriend and asked her out. She hesitated a little bit and said ok if he take us all( 4 girls). Because he didn't have big enough vehicle to take us all he asked his brother if he can borrow his. So we went to the beach - all six of us (brother decided to go to) and that's how it all started ;-)) We swam in the ocean and then talked for a long time sitting on the rocks - "boys" asked all kind of questions about Poland and about us - it was really nice conversation ;-)) Later that evening they asked us for our addresses and phone numbers and that was their last day in that town. They came there only for work. So next morning they left and before they did my now husband asked me if he can call me sometimes. Of course I said yes - I was already really interested in him. He called me few times - we talked for hours and after two weeks he was able to come see me. He lived then about 7 hours away from the place where we stayed. So after two weeks since the day we met we had our first date. It was extremely romantic and we both felt like this is it. I felt so comfortable with him like I had never felt with anybody else. Like we knew each other forever. After this first date we both were totally in love. The three months went by really fast. We saw each other almost every weekend. but after 3 months I had to go back to Poland. It was heartbreaking but I knew that it wasn't over. I knew that it wasn't only summer love, that this was real. Sure enough I left on the end of September and in November he came to visit me in Poland - only for few days but it was great. He came back for Christmas and met my parents and proposed ;-)) During all this time we sent countless emails and we talked on Skype every day. I came to USA to see him in February - but only for three weeks and I had to leave again. Every time we had to separate it was harder and harder. We were so tired of living apart, to talk only on Skype, to don't share every day simple things together. And the last time I came here was in June 2007. We had a plan that I will go back for one more year and finish my study in Poland but we just couldn't separate this time so I stayed. We got married 10-10-2007 and we've been happily married ever since. And yesterday we finally had our AOS interview and I've got approved!! And I decided to post our story because this website helped me a lot during this whole process and I hope that our experience can help somebody else!
