Why would they deny a Lawful Permanent Resident of the USA carrying a 10 year permanent green-card?
Your signature shows this, yet your timeline is incomplete:
http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=6230
Only one review and that was for a person entering using a visa, they had no problems.
My timline is complete. I'm still waiting for my greencard, that's why there isn't a date by that entry. I'm suppose to get it when I go back for more fingerprinting at the Consulate on Monday.

Has anyone used the airport in Montreal as a POE point. Or does anyone know of someone who's used the aiport in Montreal. I'm really nervous using Montreal. I've only ever used the NB border or the Halifax airport. I'm not sure what to expect when I use Montreal. I'm just nervous they're going to turn me away after all this time. So if someone, anyone has any insight, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks.

I was born in Nova Scotia, Canada
We currently live in Oklahoma
We are looking to move to Maine.
When I use to do travel nursing, I loved Maine. There's so much to do and it's also closer to home in Nova Scotia. I lived in Presque Isle but that was too far north for me. I than lived in Lewiston Maine and loved it. I was close to Portland and everything was central to me. I'd move back to Maine if it wasn't for the winters. But if you like to ski, the skiing is great.
I enjoy Maine as well. It has the "feel" I want, combined with the added bonus of the ocean, which I miss terribly. If we end up staying in the US (instead of moving to Canada), our plan is to probably move to Maine, to be closer to family and make it easier for them to visit us (driving is much cheaper than flying!).
My husband expressed concern about Maine winters. I assured him that unlike Tulsa, Maine believes in winter clothing, snowplows, salting the roads properly and snow tires.
I remember the snow and frost storm that practically shut down New Orleans. Southern drivers don't know how to drive in winter conditions. Granted there's a few Northern drivers who need a refresher too. We have studs on our winter tires. I find that they help.

Hotel Name

Sorry, I'm in a pinch, and pressed for time, and a little lazy too. So, I'm hoping someone can give me the name of the hotel that's close to the consulate in Montreal. Thanks

I think I might have good news. Montreal called, they want me to go in for fingerprinting again. They said the visa should be expidited after that. I hope that's good news.
Hopefully this is good news! How soon do you get to go?
The woman I spoke to said it shouldn't be longer than 2 to 3 days but one never knows when dealing with bureaucy.

I just can't believe this topic was on the 4th page....
BABY DREW IS HERE!!!!!
My son was born on April 5th @ 10:15a. He decided not to make us wait any longer, which his daddy was VERY happy about
He was 6 pounds 5 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. And the only way to describe my child is "perfection". I could not have dreamed of a more beautiful and perfect little boy. And I could not have anticipated the way I have fallen in love with him. It is consuming.
Congratulations Tracy and spouse. Welcome Drew and Happy Birthday!

We got an email from Operator 6 at the Montreal embassy. I had called the DOS and emailed the embassy twice a month until the actual approval of the 221. On Friday the DOS told us that the case was still pending. The following Monday we got the "send us your passport and we'll process your visa" email.
So, did you send them your passport and have you received anything. Cause my senator got that email and forwarded it me. I mailed Montreal my passport and they've had it since January. I even had to cancel a trip cause they had my passport and wont tell me when they're going to return it. It been over three months since they've got all my paperwork and all we ever get from them is to be patient, they're working on it. Dealing with red tape is enough to drive me to drink.

Oh yay! I've gotten emails from him before. And "7" too! "7" is not very good with English grammar or punctuation.
All of my correspondence comes from "7" too. Usually his/her replies are short and they NEVER actually answer the question I was asking. Useless I say, useless.

When you were advised that your I-601 - 212 or other was ajudicated and done with how were you contacted and notified of the results.
We were told we would be contacted but not how, and I was just wondering.
Thanks
For our case, we got an email on the USCIS site that said our Waiver had been approved but it took Montreal three months, and many calls from our Senator, to start answering our emails about the additional documnets they needed. It's now almost been 6 months since everything was approved and I'm still without a visa. It's a very slow process IMO. I really hate dealing with Montreal, they've got to be the slowest Embassy, and maybe disorganzied too.

That's excellent news. One step closer to getting him home.
*sigh* Boy do I hope so.
COngratulation!!!!karate chop!!!!! Take that, Embassy people!!!!
I like this one! LOL ;-)
I was just wondering if you know how much longer it's going to take for your case to be approved?

I haven't started to look around for a Pediatrician either. Where I'm still considered high risk here in Canada I'm not sure if I'm going to give birth here (Nova Scotia) or in the States. My husband would like the States but I'm having trouble finding and OBGyn with his insurance which will take me late pregnancy. So I'm still up in the air.

Just an update: I received a call from the consulate this morning acknowledging the error and letting me know that I am not required to file a 601. Thank you so much to all those who replied to this topic. I am so excited! I have been screaming for the last hour.
That's excellent news. One step closer to getting him home.

Well, it's the start of week 23 for me and things are going well. The doctor appointment went well. She said not to worry about not feeling the baby move. My placenta is forward lying and on top of the baby. She also said I started out with a few extra layers of adipose tissue and it will be a while yet before her kicks are strong enough to feel. So you ladies were on the mark there. My diabetic diet is working ok so far but I really, really, really miss my sweets. I'm not sure if I mentioned in my previous post but I now gestitional diabeties. The only thing I really crave is chocolate. My mom is diabetic and she said I can eat her dark chocolate-which has no taste so I kindly declined. Otherwise things are good. I keep checking in daily to see if anypne's delivered yet. Not much longer for Tracy and nannygirl.

Hello ladies. Congratulations to those of you who are almost there. YEah. I'm back to post an update. I moved and I'm without the internet for right now, so it makes it hard to post. I'm at the library right now. The second ultrasound went better. The amonitic fluid is now slightly below mid-normal and the doctor who performed the ultrasound said it was ok and that they'll keep an eye on me. I'm still concerned cause I'm just over 22 weeks and I still can't feel the baby kick. I have a doctor's appointment this week and will bring that up. My biggest concern is having a stillborn baby as I've been diagnosised with gestational diabeties. I did start buying baby clothes and accessories now too. I should say we're having a girl too. I'm going to do the cloth diapers too, at least for the first 7 months and when I go back to work in the Spring of 2009, we'll switch the baby over to Pampers. I bought a playpen and an exerciser. Now my next biggest purchase is the stroller but I'm waiting on that till the babyshower my friends and family are throwing. I asked for gift certificates to Toy-R-Us so I can purchase the stroller there. So for the spelling and grammar mistakes. No time to run spell check as I have less than a minute and I'm going to get booted off the computer.

ANything new from New Orleans Bound? I'm so exited to see whether they let her know the sex of the baby.
Hi Eveline.
I had the ultrasound today. I didn't find out the sex of the baby. He/she was curled up in a ball and the ultrasound technician had a hard time measuring the baby's extremities, but they're all there and account for. There's only one baby. But I just got bumped into the high risk pregnacy catergory. I'm leaking amniotic fluid and they're not sure why, so I go for more tests this week. As far as I could see on the ultrasound, the baby was fine. He/she wasn't moving around too much, more like they were sleeping and everytime the ultrasound probe tried to rouse the baby, they would curl into a ball more tightly. So that's all I have to report for now. I'm suppose to go for another ultrasound at the end of the week.

I'm not a big fan of the "What to expect" Book line. To me it feels like it's a big book of rules and they only tell you what the heck not to do. I guess everybody sees it differently and you only take the advice you think is necessary. I read the "pregnancy bible" with Adam and I loved it, I don't know how often I've read it but I loved it. Now I'm reading "Birthing from within" and I've read 'silent knife' in hopes to get over my C/S guilt. It worked a little but it took a looong time.
Is your ultrasound today or sometime this week? Mine's today and I'm hoping I might get to find out the sex. Good luck at your's.

Did you just use the regular Inquiry line--the one to talk to a visa specialist--and ask for that department? That is the only number I am finding.
EMT, any word on your case and pending I-212? Did you try reaching DOS in Washington? I'm curious to see if you get anywhere with your case. That might be my next avenue.

Actually the I-130 stays alive, because it does not have an expiration date--in some cases after a 601 is denied they can "wait out" the ban and be approved immediately. The only way for it to "die" is if it is revoked for another reason, which it seems has not happened in this case.
What you need to do is figure out where the I-130 is right now and then have it transferred to the consulate where your wife resides. Sometimes it is transferred back to the original USCIS office, but if it has been less than a year it would still be at the consulate. You can call the Department of State or USCIS customer service to try to make this determination.
Is the ban now over? How long has it been since the I-601 was denied? This will help determine whether you have to re-apply for an I-601 or appeal the old 601 decision or even file one at all.
In this case, while you can do it alone, since the 601 has already been denied once I would encourage you to consult with a qualified immigration attorney that is experienced with 601 cases. Immigrate2US is a good place to start as they advised, but an attorney is definitely a good idea. There are also suggestions for attorneys on that site from all over the country as well as examples of previously approved 601 packages.
Good luck :-)
That's interesting that you say emt. When I was dealing with my lawyer I was told something different about how long a petition/visa can remain open. I'm going to do some research on that topic because I vaguely remember something about a petition having an end date if no action is taken on it.

Yu and Dan, I tried to re-edit my post to say that my timeline is update. There are no areas in that section to record any type of delays or problems with waivers. Thanks for the link to the reviews of the POE's.
