Gustavo and I met online--every once in a while they get it right! He emailed me and I ignored him. After all, he lived in Brazil and was much younger than I am. A week later he emailed again and acknowledged that he understood why I might not respond--then he introduced himself. I responded with skepticism for more than a month. Then I couldn't help but fall in love with him. I tried to trust that everything he presented about himself and his intentions toward me were genuine. I have never regretted this. Four months later I went to Brazil and confirmed that what we felt for each other was real. What an amazing 10 days! Returning home was painful. We saw each other in Brazil every 3-4 months for the last 2 1/2 years. We were married 9 months after that first email. The v isa process started shortly after that. While it was stressful and did not always go our way,, we finally made it. On April 1 Gustavo will be on the plane to come to his new home in the US. The honeymoon has lasted 2+ years so far. It will be a treat to be close to each other every day after being separated for so long.
