Got Interview Date June 1st - CC was April 11th

Hi there,

It has been 10 months since i filed my N400 with USCIS. I have done a couple of infopass appointments and have called USCIS customer representatives numerous of times. My very first case inquiry reply said that they were still waiting for my name check to be done, which was exactly what i was told at Infopass appointment. Today I got another email saying that "Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in the order received and in a timely and efficient manner. We regret any inconvenience that results from delays in processing." The officer at infopass said he was not sure where went wrong but he could see my name check was done. My case is way out of the normal processing time here in Los Angeles county. If it is really because of the heady workload at NBC, can i say that i should receive any notice from them very soon? or it is just a generic response? does anyone know? Thanks for your inputs!!!

I would suggest you get your senator involved that usually makes thing go by faster.

I am looking for some assistance with my wife's case. She has an interview scheduled on 04/27/2016 in Islamabad, Pakistan. I am curious to know how long after the interview does she get her passport sent back to her? I was born in the US, does that make a difference? I am trying to book their flight as quickly as possible after the interview, as I plan on doing a wedding reception here in the states. Is there any way to expedite the process for the passport with visa being sent. I apologize if this is the wrong thread, but I barely use this forum, and I am a little confused on how to navigate through here. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I wouldn't book anything till she has it in her hands. You just have to wait for it to say issued and I'm pretty sure there is no expedite for that.

I would suggest not to book tickets until the visa is on hand. Its not necessary that you would get the visa right away. At Islamabad embassy they do background checks sometimes on females as well and those can take time.

April 20th Oath - So glad to be done with this whole immigration process its crazy

Hello everyone!

I had my interview on 3/30. At the end of the interview, I was given a letter saying that a decision cannot be made yet. Today my case status was changed. The oath ceremony was scheduled and a letter was mailed to me! Hopefully I will be done this month!

surprise surprise - got the oath ceremony scheduling email today as well - not in AP i guess great

Had my interview at seattle office today - approved, but put under AP again it seems because of change of martial status and trips outside of US - no same day oath for me - it would take another a month or so he said to get the oath Ceremony.

The officer was not the nicest person around did not say good morning or good bye don`t know what was that all about

All is well that ends well i guess

this is stupid downloaded the the forms from uscis website in feb - it still showed the old forms then - now its updated - would be getting a checklist for sure

Is there a way to verify online that NVC received and scanned the documents in?

or do I have to call them to confirm?

all of you guys who are stuck with Background check would suggest contacting your state senator - I contacted the senator here in Washington and in about 2 weeks surprisingly the background check was all clear or maybe its a coincidence.

If your case is pending Background check then i am afraid no 1 can help you - u will have to wait it out it can be from 6 months to 3 years in some cases

Thanks for the update - The thing is if the USCIS office you are going through has gone past your priority dates you have the right to contact them so there is nothing wrong in contacting your senator or congress person to help in the matter.

it about time you contact your state senator or congressmen - punch in your zip code and it will tell you who are your representaives. - go to their website they should have form that you can fill out, sign and fax it to them.
