sjr09 reacted to Hank_ in USA or PHL
This from someone who rants about the "nanny state" attitude of the Philippine government (do you remember CFO). The Philippine government wants to "control" it all ...

sjr09 reacted to Hank_ in Did you bring your photo album during the interview?
My wife had 8 or so pictures at the interview, CO only looked at a couple. Where we were surprised was at CFO where she had 4 pictures arranged and they asked for more, luckily she had more in her folder, I think CFO does this just to get a reaction out of people, for some reason what should be a prep and offering awareness for immigrating to another country has become a "test".

sjr09 reacted to Harsh_77 in Separate rules for mods?
Charles – I don’t know how you are in Mod hierarchy but MOD abusing their power is becoming more and more common on VJ.
There seems to be no action from Captain or anyone else… if this continues believe me you will see ppl dropping out of VJ.
Specially when MOD takes illegal actions against the old members who are done with their own immigration but have stayed on here either they like it or they think they might own something back to VJ.
If these guys start dropping out VJ would not have anyone to post response to queries… these guys are the asset for VJ.

A re-entry permit and Advanced Parole (AP) are two different things but you use the same form for both which is probably why you're confused. You need to know the terms because you PAY for a re-entry permit, AP is free and she needs AP NOT a re-entry permit.
You need to fill out form I-131 for the advanced parole and mail it with the NOA1 from AOS to waive the fee. Seeing this is an emergency though I would book an infopass (or just go in to your local given it's an emergency). She will need proof of the emergency like a copy of the death certificate, or hospital record etc. They may accept her AP application there and then. They have the ability to print AP there and then but I haven't heard many cases of them doing this, typically it's just mailed out. Biometrics aren't required for AP.
I suggest that on monday you go to your local office WITH the completed AP documents in case they need them. You'll get your answers specific to your situation then and there.

Or, cancel the K-1 have your conservative catholic religious wedding in the PI, making both you and your disapproving family of a civil wedding over a religious one happy. Then file CR-1 petition. Problem solved!

I guess that's as close as we'll get to you admitting you made an error. something I saw you post in a different thread. just FYI, the I-134 is not legally binding.

If you suspect something is up, chances are that it is. But take time and find out for sure, and if it is the case then don't marry her.

Follow your gut. If you feel something is up, then it probably is. Don't marry her. Let USCIS know you're not marrying her.

some possible paths:
Do Nothing
1. Do Not Get Married
2. Her I-94 will expire then
3. yer off the hook
Marry Her
1. Marry her then
2. File the Adjustment of Status Casefile then
3. IF and only IF your fraud suspicions prove to be true then
4. withdraw the I-864, affadavit of support prior to green card issuance and then
5. divorce
There is another path, but I not suggest it unless you are certain she's not defrauding you, and that's to marry, file, stay married, and have a happy life together.

sjr09 reacted to Operator in Latvian boyfriend, has been here 15 years
To use marriage as a vehicle to make someone "legal" is not legal but perhaps legal status could be achieved through a bona fide marriage.
I think the reason you are seeing some of these negative reactions is because of the way the question is posted. It would seem that the intended outcome is to make the Latvian boyfriend "legal" by marriage to you or even someone else.
