OMG. So very sad to have heard this news. My heart is in a million pieces right now and the tears are flowing. I just went through my old PM's and there was DawnHatem all over the place. She was always there with a helping hand, words of comfort and encouragement or a little something to make you laugh. I can still see her smile radiant as ever! The world sure is a little darker today and the we have lost of one of the finest people I had the pleasure of knowing. She helped me more that I could ever thank her for. I remember her sending me a fax of the packet 3 a few years back...and let me tell ya it was a whole lot of pages. She went out of her way to help others and even those she only knew through the computer screen.
OMG, Dawn. Why did this have to happen to you. Why. Rest among the angels Dawn as you truly were one who walked among us. I will never ever forget you. I am glad that you and Hatem were together and for finding the love of your life. Inshallah he will recover soon.
RIP my friend. RIP.

We shouldn't question the religous beliefs of others....sure it came about a long long time ago and these scientifical advances were no where to be found at that time...but that is the religion. Having said that, I think we should always do what we believe is good for us. Me personally, I would definitely go against the religion if this was the only way that I could have kids. But I do fear Him and would definitely have to live with the consequences...who knows what those will be...and I would have to answer one day for this. But personally, I think that He is merciful and understanding and well sometimes I think I could put up a pretty darn good arguement on why I did certain things albeit haram ;-) I am not overly religious, but maybe this friend of the OP is. And maybe his fear of going to he!! outweighs his desire to have kids any which way. Religion does funny things to people and some interpret the texts in different ways. So in the end we have to make our decision and live with it and answer for it.
True some people want out of the relationship if they are "forced" to have kids. And sometimes the gal could "forget" to take her pill ;-) Or the guy tells her I had surgery or I can't have kids. And 9 monts later, bam...junior is coming out. Sometimes it's to snag the other person, sometimes to keep them, sometimes to get $ out of them. But of course that would create animosity in the relationship and I think it would quickly spiral out of control and put an end to it.
But the reasoning that the guy wants out from the get go, so he refuses to have kids with her is flawed. Think about it, if the guy left his kids before in some MENA country or wherever he has no qualms about doing it again. She could have a church of kids and if this guy wants out he just tells her I'm outta here. Kinda like if he left you for her, what's to say he won't leave you for that one.

Oh one more thing....buying his return ticket from AMM to the US is cheaper when purchased in Jordan. A roundtrip ticket last week for a stay of 1.5 months to Detroit was only 600JD. I would expect the one way to be approx. 400JD.

Check out the Zuwar program on the RJ website this might help you if you wanted to stay a few days in Amman. I am ISA flying to AMM July 18 or July 25 from JFK for two weeks. I was given the price of 1480 a few weeks ago. For travel in mid/late Aug the price was 1280. That again is from NY on RJ. If you'd like to talk to my agent I can PM her contact information...it's all e-ticket....and I've booked with her for my last 9 trips to Jordan.

My crazy @$$ MIL thinks money grows on trees here. I am putting R to work right away when she arrives. Little does she know she's going to pay back all this money I have been throwing away due to her demands and for her to have the wedding of the year! LOL. Seriously, I think the money issue is HUGE no matter where each person comes from....but I think for those having money available...they somehow feel they have to spend it. Further, they don't realize how much we pay for things (they think everyone in America lives like they do in the movies), truth is most of us don't own our houses like they do back home and we'll be paying for them for the next 30 years, car insurance, health insurance, just about everything we pay an arm and a leg for. Someone commented that $20 would go a long way in their spouses country....heck yeah! Some people are making 5 dollars per 8 hour work day in Jordan. But there is no big @$$ box of tomatoes for 1 dollar here like there is there....he!! 4 tomotoes cost me 3 dollars and some change last week.

Wild story. You should get a silver certificate and try buying some nachos that with it....they would definitely call the cops on ya! But you probably don't want to go spending those rare bills though.

I would make the drive up...I think it's about 1.25 hours from NE CT. I'm not good at planning these things, but tell me when and where to show up. :-)

If I remember correctly, the K3 interview can only take place in the country in which the marriage took place. For the IR1/CR1 you may request a transfer once the paperwork arrives at the consulate you specified on the I130, but the beneficiary needs to be a legal resident of that country.

Hi
On the I-130:
Does anybody know which name should be filled in for SECTION C, QUESTION 17?
I'm American and I'm petitioning for my husband and children, but because the question is under section C: INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR RELATIVE,
I'm confused about whether I need to put my name with the children or my husband's name, as the question is worded:
C. Information about your alien relative (my husband
)(continued)
17. List Husband/wife and all children of your relative (needed is name, relationship, D.O.B. and Country of birth)
Well, here is where Im confused - I'm the wife of my relative, so why don't they just ask me to put my name if that is what they need.
SOMEBODY! Please put me out of my misery so that I can get these Form filed and get the process happening.
Thank you
You're right. You need to put names of all the people directly related to your husband, that is, You as his wife and the children. Start with your name first and then write your children's name.
Her childred may not be his children....so I think the correct response should be his wife which is her, and any of HIS children.

That question number and half of the second page of the I-130 is a continuation of Section "C" Information on your alien relative....in our cases the beneficiary. In a sense they are asking for information on the beneficiary who you identified as the alien relative on page one Section C, Question #1. So for "US" filing for our spouses, it's asking who is the husband/wife of your spouse? When I answered this questions I put my first middle last names followed by "(the petitioner)" and then the other information. She doesn't have children so only my informaiton was there.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Viist http://www.sss.gov/ for more info.
What is the penalty for not registering?
If you do not register, you could be prosecuted and fined up to $250,000 and/or be put in jail for up to five years. Registration is also a requirement to qualify for Federal student aid, job training benefits, and most Federal employment.
(See also What Happens if I Don't Register?).
http://www.sss.gov/FSbenefits.htm
CITIZENSHIP
The U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) makes registration with Selective Service a condition for U.S. citizenship if the man first arrived in the U.S. before his 26th birthday.
A non-registrant may not be denied any benefit if he can "show by a preponderance of evidence" that his failure to register was not knowing and willful. Offer as much evidence supporting your case, and as much detail, as possible.
Stating you didn't know you had to is not a preponderance of evidence. In the OP case, the person who did not register will most likely not be granted citizenship. If he did apply at age 29, he prob would be denied and then might be advised to re-apply after reaching the age of 31. Five years after he was last able to register for SS.

ROUGHT DRAFT OF LETTER!
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
Wish you all the very best in drawing attention to this. Were you planning on emailing these letters? From what we have done at my company when contacting representatives and sentors is mail them snail mail as well. You could also fax them....get that fax machine working all day. I think the paperload will help draw even more attention and especially if all the letters are the "same". Best of luck with this and I hope you see something done.
