Dave-n-Oksana got a reaction from N-o-l-a in Moving across the United States
In that case, I would suggest renting a truck with a car trailer. That will keep your cost down, and depending on the distance you need to travel, may come under your budget.

Actually the family didn't want an autopsy, and there was no sign of foul play that would require one.

The statistic point to higher injury and death yes. But ask yourself, how many people store their firearms in a safe? If you single out "safe owners" for instance I bet you'll see the statistics swing.
(And yes I think every gun owner should own a safe). If you are reading this and want to get into firearms, consider a safe just as important as the ammo or the gun.

Died from his wounds.

JNC,
Just an FYI, you can Adjust Status if you are no longer married to the USC, but you have to do as soon as you have the divorce decree in your hands, and still must show proof that the marriage was in good faith.
Most times if an LPR is trying to adjust while going through a divorce, USCIS will place the adjustment on hold until the divorce is granted. This is to ensure that the Immigrant gets a fare shake in the adjustment process instead of risking being ruined by the testimony of a spiteful spouse.

I am sorry Hari but you are incorrect here also. There are two dates that a marriage is over. The first is when one or both partners realize that it is done and the second is when the court recognizes it. Though for all legal purposes the latter is the one that the legal system cares about.
Also he is better off getting the divorce first then adjusting, not the other way around.
To the OP
I do not think it's in your best interest to be sharing the same residence (or any area of space) with your soon-to-be ex. Depending on how vindictive you wife is, she could falsify an assault charge against you just to prevent you getting your 10 yr card, and therefore getting you flagged for deportation.

Dave-n-Oksana got a reaction from Mr. Big Dog in Pinellas toddler finds his father's gun, kills himself
Personally I would like to see the father with a felony conviction (thus never legally being able to own a firearm), and based upon his remorse parole. As the sheriff said (for a truly remorseful parent) no punishment the legal system can hand out would compare to self recrimination.

Dave-n-Oksana got a reaction from Hollyday in Should I return home or try to work it out?
Cindy,
To prevent the above from being an issue I would suggest that you make a master resume that has all your work experience and job history and from that create a custom resume that matches the job you are applying for. Only include the experience that meets the posted job requirements and would likes. And don't forget to include the key words in the job posting (i.e. the type of person they are looking for, processes or program experience) these are important to getting past the first stage.
A lot of companies have a minimum of a 3-stage hiring process. The first level is automated as companies get hundreds of resumes and it is impossible for someone to read through them all. So a company will use a document reader to search resumes for key words in their job postings, and those that meet those requirements are then sent to a HR generalist who then reads through the resume and perform an initial interview. Those that pass the initial interview are then sent to the hiring manager.
You didn't say what country you are from, but that could also be a an issue, as a company may be leery of hiring an immigrant with no US work experience (unless you have worked for an international company or bank). So you may need to apply for a position well below your experience and desire, but once hired you can dazzle them with your experience and knowledge.
I do not want to presume and I hope I have not given you any information that you didn't already know. I'm just trying to help. I also believe that once the financial strain is gone everything will start going the direction you want to go. Trust me, I've been there and if you both work together it will become easier.

Dave-n-Oksana got a reaction from Cliviania in I lied on my B2 application - will this hurt our K1 chances??
Tammy,
Ignore the "Doom and Gloom"ers here. From what you have said, there shouldn't be any effects on a K-1. You did not come to the US on a B2 visa with intent to get married. You have visited sites in the US, just because you did this with your boyfriend now fiancee does not invalidate your statements about tourism.
You have nothing to worry about. Heck, there are people here who came to just visit the US on VWP and ended up getting married. So you really have nothing to worry about.
BTW Congratulations on your engagement.

I have to agree to the comments that if you are not happy find a divorce lawyer. Trying to make a marraige work when you are unhappy and the only one trying will only make you miserable.

Dave-n-Oksana got a reaction from Oksana & Max in Okay I am offically confused
Oksana and I talked about this last night (after I regained my bearings). I explained how most American women would have been outraged that I admitted to seeing their daughter's breast, and I asked her why she was not upset and her reply made a lot of sense.
She said "You are a man, and a man is going to look at a pretty girl no matter what and it is normal. I trust you completely and if I thought there was a danger, I would never leave you alone with her. It is also a sign that my daughter trusts you."
Got to love a FSU woman's no-nonsense approach.
