  1. I received answers to my questions about this Document Verification Fee yesterday and come to find out this fee has been suspended since back in October 2008. I believe it would be in good taste and would save a lot of unnecessary searching about this topic if the USEM would simple issue/post a statement on their Website that this FEE has been suspended until further notice or something. If there is, I havent found it and obviously other VJ members as well because questions are still being asked. THANKS to VJ members because thats were I got my answers from.

  2. i mean how do you find out if an application has been "touched" do you call or write the center?

In order to do the following you must have a receipt number from the USCIS.

Go to USCIS.GOV and click on Case Status Online. Then click on Case Status Search where you will then see a box that reads Application Receipt Number. Enter that number in this box and this should get you something.

  3. Does anyone know how the VCS is doing right now? I am waiting on my NOA2. I recieved my NOA1 Sept 15 so I know I still have a long way to go but........ I would love to see some approvals or hear if things are actually "up and running" and what we can do to get them moving faster!!!!!!

Correct. There's not much one can do. Not even lighting a fire under their you know what. Still waiting on my NOA1 for my I-129F signed for on 11/21/08.

  4. I will speak for Kai

His mom thinks I am using him (even though I AM THE SPONSER and have a good job) She also says I am a phase and he will be back in a month once he is here (mind you she said the same thing when he came to be with me for those 3 months) She says I am stealing HER son (even though he is an adult) His dad and mom both did everything they could to break us up for over a year THEN gave up. HE has stopped talking to them about me and tells them WHEN they ask * so you moving in with that ####### american..* he tells them to knock it off and YES he is..deal with it..accept it because we are getting married and it is his life. His mom will cry saying WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME

HE will tell her NO I am NOT doing this to you, I am doing this FOR ME. I love her I have for a long time so you will ACCEPT it or lose me.

His father has threaten to beat him in the past and treat him horribly (yes I saw it on the webcam and heard it all.

NOW though it has been quiet..his dad is NOW accepting it...his mom wont every do it

IN THE END ITS ABOUT HIM AND I not his family or mine.

Remember that its YOUR lives...not your family....in the end its about you and your SO

    It is their issue..not YOURS

PS we been together 2.5 years now

This is indeed a sad story to hear. You guys have to live your lives as you see fit and I'm pretty sure that you are based on your post. In the long run it is you and your soulmate that will have to answer to each other about the happines you bring to each others lives. Do what makes you happy of course. It sounds like the parents will never accept your/his situation. As long as you never say anything negative about the parents you can always keep your head up knowing you did nothing wrong.

I couldn't imagine my mom being like that towards me. My father is not even in the picture so I can't comment on him. She has always been supportive no matter who I chose to date throughout my life.

  5. Thanks to all that replied. This ####### was driving me crazy. I am handling everything from my end in the US. It appears that was just another avenue to squeeze more money from Petitioners.

    Yes, no more DV

No need to pay document verification. Just bring all required documents from the oct 2008 packet. You could get your NBI, CENOMAR, Birth Certificate in advance.

I've searched, I saw and I've read and yet I still don't understand how to go about paying these Document Verification Fees to DELBROS in The Philippines. To be more exact Manila. I just know thats its best if the fee is paid prior to my Fiancee's appointment at the Embassy. Can they not be paid at the Embassy? I realize this will cause a delay in the Visa being delivered to my Fiancee.

Can someone please give me a detailed step-by-step layout of the process. Preferably from someone who has been thru this already as it is more related to the Philippines.

    Thanks.

    NO More DV??

  6. It's been waived since October. But you have to bring recent copies of your BC/MC/CENMAR/CENOMAR and NBI clearance to your interview.

Appreciate the fast reply Jose. I guess thats what I get for searching to much. lol. But more info is better than not enough I would assume.

    Thanks again.

  8. Can anyone enlighten me as to why some filers, mainly VJ filers using the VSC seem to receive their NOA1 within days after initially mailing their I-129F and its taking some weeks to receive their NOA1.

I mailed mine 11-18-08 and it was signed for on 11-21-08 and thats about it.

Is the VSC unorganized and/or just picking I-129F's at random or what?

    Thanks.

We filed our petition at 11-19-08 and we have not receive our NOA1 yet, but we tracked down our mail and it said that it was already their at VSC, maybe there are some delay.

hey please, let me know when you get your NOA1 and i will do the same way,ok? thanks.

I hope our visa journey will be smooth and a success.

    Not a problem. Will do

  10. I will soon send my package to my fiancée what is the best (safest) way to send it! She lives in the Mekong Delta and the mail service there is not the greatest. She has a Aunt that lives in HCM city and maybe that would be better place to send it. Just would hate to have all this data lost!!! Also why do we have to send another entire I-129 package when the Embassy will have one already??? Thank You

Thats true the Embassy will have a copy. I believe you may be confused. Make sure that the person you are petitioning has an exact duplicate of what you mailed to the USCIS. You did keep a copy for yourself didnt you?

  11. OTTAWA (Reuters) – Obese people have the right to two seats for the price of one on flights within Canada, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled on Thursday.

The high court declined to hear an appeal by Canadian airlines of a decision by the Canadian Transportation Agency that people who are "functionally disabled by obesity" deserve to have two seats for one fare.

The airlines had lost an appeal at the Federal Court of Appeal in May and had sought to launch a fresh appeal at the Supreme Court. The court's decision not to hear a new appeal means the one-person-one-fare policy stands.

The appeal had been launched by Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz and WestJet.

My daughter and I recently flew to the Philippines in October and boy was I in for a wake up call. I havent flown coach since I was 9 and I'm 43 and around 240 lbs. so I can relate to people who have problems with one seat. My problem is my height at 6'3" and the jerks in front of you have no respect or concern and just flop their F****** seat back. I had on several flights to MAKE the attendants have these people let return their seats to the upright position because if I ask its not going to come out in a manner to kindly and why should it because the people in front of me didnt give a rats ### in the first place abouts my knees.

  12. Our NOA2 came on October 16th, our interview is already scheduled for the 23rd of January, but my fiancee JUST got his packet 3... This is now an issue because he doesn't live in an area where he has any sort of access to a computer capable of downloading the forms he needs... Aside from the fact that I think it's ludicrous for them to expect a person living in an underdeveloped country to have ready internet access and give them a website instead of the actual forms, which ones are the ones he brings to the interview, and which ones are the ones he sends off and have processing fees? And when do I get a letter from the Embassy telling me I owe them these processing fees? This part of the immigration nonsense has me confused... The beginning was easy where you just submitted a couple forms and hurried up and waited... This section of things is so rushed though that it has me pulling out my hair

If anyone who knows what they're doing feels like giving me detailed instructions starting from the point we're at and continuing up to when he'll get his visa, I would GREATLY appreciate it....... Thank you SO much...

I understand your frustration. Not everyone has internet access. Here's what I'm doing for my Fiancee in the Philippines. I have filled out all the Forms for her even though the Embassy in Manila is SUPPOSED to be sending here these forms from what I understand. You will need Forms DS-156K, DS-230, DS-157 and DS-156. Please be aware that you CANNOT hand write nor type Form DS-156. It MUST be done via online from the Embassy's website and once filled in there is an option to generate the taking you to another page wherein it places a Barcode within the application. Also keep in mind make sure this Form DS-156 has all correct information because once you are taken to the second screen print it you cannot go back and make changes nor can you save this form to any PC.

Also, If you are living in the Philippines don't forget to get yourself a form CENOMAR, Certification of No Record of Marriage aka Singleness to prove that you have never been married just in case. Better to have it than not.

    Hope this helps.

  13. hi this is phoebe from the philippines

    need some help. please

me and my fiance is starting to accomplish our I-129F today.

we have some questions here so were hoping that someone can help us.

    with the passport type photo.

i sent my photo to my fiance and he told me that my photo is smaller than his photo.

is uscis is very particular to the size of my photo? alien fiance photo?

and how you made the payment for the processing fee of I-129F? the 455 dollars

we gonna do personal check. to whom we should address the check?

    somebody can help us please.

    thank you!!

Your check should be paid to as follows: U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Please do not abbretivate as the instructions are very clear about this.

I Just left the Philippines 10/31/08 with my Fiancee's photos. The following paragraph I copied from the I-129F Instructions regarding your question about the Passport Photo.

Give USCIS a passport-style color photograph of yourself and a passport-style color photograph of your fiancé(e), with both photos taken within 30 days of the date of filing this petition. The photos must have a white background, be glossy, un-retouched and not mounted. The dimension of the full frontal facial image of you and your fiancé(e) in separate photos should be about one inch from your chin to the top of your hair. Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print the name (and Alien Registration Number, if known) on the back of each photograph.

  14. Hiya, I have a couple questions about the paperwork you send to your fiance after NOA 2:

    1. How did you bind your papers? Did you do the top hole punch and metal fasteners like the original paperwork? Or did you just use paperclips.

    2. For those of you who included MSN/yahoo/whatever chat logs as part of your proof of relationship, how much did you print out? I started to print some of ours and it was 287 pages just for one archive! I have four archives total. This seems rather excessive.

thanks in advance for any help

I responded to a posting exactly like this one yesterday. My Petition includes IM from Sept to Nov 2008 and has approached the 2" thickness mark. You will fine my friend. I wish I would be there to see whomever opens my Petition. I just know they are going to say OH MY GOD, due to the thickness. hehehe

  15. Hello Everyone,

I will be sending my I-129F on Wednesday and I think that I have everything copied and ready. The only thing is I feel like I have tons of evidence that shouldn't be in there. Maybe too much isn't an issue, but I am wondering if some of this stuff should be held off until the interview. I includeed, print-outs of my tickets for each trip, emails and instant message conversations, phone call records, wedding photos, letters confirming our relationship. Should I be sending these sort of things now, or should I wait for the interview?

Don't be overly concerned about how much is submitted as its not going to hurt a thing. Just make sure you have things tabbed for easy access. In fact, I was just making my Fiancee laugh tonight from the Philippines about my Petition for her. Your and my Petitions sound so similar. My petition is approaching 2" in thickness. I told her whomever opens up my Petition is going to say OH MY GOD. I have chat logs included from September to November included in my Petition.
