Im replying to someone's post. My wife has done another medical already.

  2. I see countless posts about these same issues. Some of the problems are a LOT of CS will not sign off on ANY portion of the I-693 even though you have them read along where it states another exam is NOT required if the previous exam is less than 1 year ago, in which case it is with my wife. I had a CS lie to my face once we were at her office even though in a phone conversation she said she would do the transcription of immunizations for $125, which I know is way over priced. She refused to do it and wanted $415 for an exam. I just left her office, and of course I was pissed, and drove to another CS that said she would do the transcriptions for $10 or a full medical for $165. Needless to say I drove the 50 miles. It don't matter if you know the rules or NOT, these CS do damn well what they please, and they know they have us in a bind as this form, I-693, is a MUST, exam or NOT.

You may just have to do another medical, so be prepared for that.

  3. Hi All -

We submitted my husband's I-485 and EAD applications back in January. We went to the local office in St. Albans to have his biometrics done at the beginning of February, and he just got his EAD in the mail last week, which was great. However, today I just got an email update from the USCIS website saying:

"On March 16, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

It very clearly states that this is in regards to the I-485 application, and lists the I-485 case number. I logged onto the website to see if it would tell me anything further, but it just gives me the same text as the email. He hasn't had any interview...hasn't even had one scheduled...and we haven't gotten an RFE for the I-693 form that we didn't submit. There's no way they could be giving him his AOS without an interview and proof of vaccinations, is there?!

Its seems the USCIS has notified you that your EAD, Employment Authorization Document has been approved, and you too, will soon receive that actual card with photo on it. My wife has received hers as well even though we have not had our AOS interview which is this month by the way. Does it say card production for the EAD or PR?

  4. I traveled to the Philippines with my daughter last year and she was 3yrs then, and my god, it cost me $1,085 just for her ticket, and mine was the same price. Her was $1,085 for the simple fact that she had her own seat. I at least thought by her being so young, there would be some sort of discount, but it wasn't. If you think you can carry you child in your lap the entire way, which is a long flight, of course, you might come out a lot cheaper.

  5. We are in the same boat..We filed for my aos late sept 2009 and it is still "initial review" too from after it was transferred to csc last jan 20. Im trying to be patient too because I really can't do anything about it and calling them doesn't really help either.Let's just pray it finish soon. I know how you feel.

Since your case was transferred to CSC, you may very well be looking at an approval with no interview.

  6. My fiancee lives in the Philippines. I was there last in December '09 and filled out all the papers. All I'm waiting on is her CENOMAR to come through the NSO. Can I go ahead and file for her K-1 with just the judge signed annulment papers and no CENOMAR yet?

    tHANX

What stage are you guys at? I am assuming you guys have not started the process yet. First, you would need to file for an I-129F, which is a petition, and once that is approved, you would then have her apply in her country for the visa. In the mean time, this will give you/her time to get the CENOMAR.

Please fill out your timeline as it will he people here assist with questions better.

  7. Sounds like downtown Chicago where the USCIS and all the consulate offices are located at, but do have free parking for the employees. Chicago did add the Metro, a train service with spokes all around the city, so we stay 50 miles outside of town, main Union station is only blocks away, parking is positively impossible.

Does LA have choo choo trains too?

Often wonder why they don't put these places near or on major airports, least you can find a place to park and access is so much better. Downtown sucks.

Actually, they do have above and below ground subways systems in place now and they are actually pretty good. The bus system is just down right not good at all, but for those without transportation, its basically the only way.

  8. hi,

I need help for thoose people got interviewed in DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES ADDRESS...300 NORTH LOS ANGELES CA 90012.

    i need hotel to stay..

I never been in Downtown Los Angeles ca and thats not my states home...my mother lives over there. i filed her AOS and we need interview on APRIL 09, in the morning. now i need to rent a car and make reservation to hotel closed in immigration as much as possible walking distance or driving 1 mile. i want to stay 4 days like starting april 7 to 10 that way i can go china town i never been there too. i know is downtown really crowded and much more people than here in my states. well trying to get one bedroom for 2 people. and i have a car i need to park. my budget was $55.00 for 3 days and plus the parking like 10 dollars a day its ok.

i dont really care if the room was no fancy thing. i just only need to sleep and prepare to our interview. so please anybody knows over there and i can really accept all your input thank you so much.

I lived in Los Angeles for 37 yrs. and sorry to tell you, you will have to budget way more than $55 for a room for 3 days I'm assuming, and the parking in downtown Los Angeles is outrageous. $10 may get you 30 minutes of parking in one of the open lots there. I usually use Expedia and they have ok prices and try to stay somewhere at least 10 miles away from the downtown Los Angeles area.

  9. My wife already had a medical exam done in May so we are still good as far as the year thing goes. We are filing our AOS. She has all her vaccinations and everything. But there's one CS in our town and he told us he's not going to just sign it that he wants to do the whole thing physical, bloodwork, and everything. And we don't need it done but he refuses to just 'sign' the thing. What should we do?

You may have to do some driving to find another CS.

Here is what I think most people and Civil Surgeons are missing. If you follow the link above to USCIS for the Q + A on TB skin testing and vaccination requirements, you will see the following Q + A.

Q: If an applicant is required to receive only the vaccinations, and not undergo the entire medical exam, does he/she have to submit the entire Form I-693?

No. Applicants who are not required to have the entire medical examination need to submit only pages one, three and five of the new form. The required sections include Part 1, Information About You, the vaccination record portion of Part 2, and Part 5 (if the vaccinations are administered by a civil surgeon) or Part 6 (if the vaccinations are administered by a local health department). Pages two and four, that would have been left blank, do not need to be submitted.

Because the last page of the I-693 (where the doctor signs) says that he certifies that he , the CS, did a med. exam, he may not want to sign it without him doing an exam, thus charging you a fee for another exam. Copy the entire Q+A and bring it with you to convince the CS you will not need another exam regardless of any other immunizations or TB skin test. Good luck! Mari-Joe

  11. My wife said when she went to get her NBI today they told her to come back in 2 weeks. Any body ever heard of this? She said the problem she could think of would be a old cell phone bill. Would that show up on a NBI report. She does have a name that is common in th Philippines.

My wife got her NBI back in 1996 and she said it only took two days, but when you're renewing, it took her about 5 to 10 minutes whenever she renewed hers.

  12. Well, I am throwing in the towel. The love is gone, he will soon be gone. He was nice enough to tell me that he can easily "find another woman to support him." I hope your journey doesn't end as badly. My heart has been broken and stomped on. Beware, the pretty face that hides an evil heart. Some can't love because they can't love themselves. They can't give, trust, or love. Some are just plain lazy and feel entitled to a free ride. Guard your heart, ladies because people can change to their true selves after you are married. He will have his green card, so he will be happy. What a sad way to live, using and stepping on people to get what you want. My life will go on, but my heart is truly broken.

Sorry for you pain and no one deserves this type of treatment, but this goes for women as well. I walked off and left my wife and she was drop-dead gorgeous and people ask me how I could have left someone so beautiful. Only if they knew what I was put through. I bought a one-way plane ticket to my destination while she was at work and never looked back.

  13. Confused again ! Once Uscis approves the petition and sends it on to NVC will we be informed from NVC by mail ? How many of you actually received a letter from NVC with an actual NVC case number ? How long it usually takes ( from the Uscis approval ) ?

    Thanks. :)

Yes, you will be notified with a letter from NVC via snail mail with number. I received mine just under 10 days.

  14. I am in no way looking for a shady route to get this done, I'm not looking to "fraudulently use her visitor privilege to circumvent US immigration law". I'm just trying to get information on the subject and frankly this route seemed a little shady to me. I came here to get some information, not to find out how to break laws.

scjones, I don't think you are attempting fraud at all. I just think you were given some bad info from that lawyer on how to go about the process. VJ is a very helpful forum, so do your homework here and you should be fine. I found VJ in 2008 and had to ask one question since. I would have banged my head into the wall had I paid a lawyer to do what I did all by myself.

  15. Hi,

I'm not 100% sure that this is the proper forum for this question but I'm new and thought it applied. I am dating a girl from Norway and I talked to an immigration lawyer about marrying her. He told me that one option was that if she was here on a tourist visa and we decided to get married while she was here, that would be ok. So he said we could get married while she was here and then immediately apply for permanent residency but she couldn't go home until residency was granted. This seems almost too easy to me and was wondering if this was a reasonable way to go about things. It seems way less complicated than other options but was just looking for some advice. Thanks a lot, this looks like a really useful site.

The lawyer should have also mentioned to you, if she came here specifically as a tourist and you guys met and fell in love this would be acceptable. If she came here on a tourist visa specifically to marry you, this is consituted as visa fraud. I'm not saying this was you guys intentions, but seek guidance from someone more informed than that lawyer. He is already guiding you in the wrong direction. Furthermore, if you do seek AOS after marriage, she can go home after approval of Advance Parole, which allows a person to travel for short durations outside the US while the AOS is in process.

  16. i called the passport office,if they can verify regarding my child passport if still valid. they cannot answer i have to write letter to the cousilor office lost or stolen passport, and i have to wait the cousilor office at the washington dc. when they gonna reply, its really depressing.

then i cant obtain new passport need consent to the father. and theirs no way he sign for consent. he just playing around. i am in a hard situition now. i dont know if he says the truth or not?

i need advice regarding my child passport ,, and thank you so much

I have a child from a previously relationship that I took with me to the Philippines to meet my Fiancee, but I have sole custody of my daughter. The instructions are very clear on the application no passport will be issued without both parents there in person. I had no problem because I showed them my custody order. Sorry, probably what you don't want to hear, but will he not go in person with you.

  17. The California Service center recieved my K-1 Visa Application on monday, and they bearly cashed the money order yesterday, does anyone know why they delay cashing my money order? and is this going to slow my NOA 1 down? sorry im just excited and impatient >=0)

If you ask me, that was pretty damn fast, cashing your MO. Yes, you're just excited.

How are you able to know when the money order is cashed?

Company that issued the MO can put a tracer on it. I had it done years ago.

I posted on this yesterday. A lot of CS will NOT fill out ANY portion of the I-693 unless the immigrant agrees to a full medical. I stood there and read the instructions as she followed along and still refused to do any portion of the form. Its all a damn money game with a lot of CS's, and like I stated previously, they know they have a person in a pickle.

  19. Mohammed is having his A.O.S. Interview on 4/7/10 and I filed the I-485 on 10/09 and his Medical was 4/22/09. I didn't send with his I-485 the Medical Exam I-693 and we didn't receive an RFE for it. I did send a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Sheet showing which vaccines he had with the I-485. Since we didn't receive an RFE do we need to have a Civil Surgeon see him again?

    Thanks

I would have the I-693 done anyway. Why take the chance that this may be the only thing during your interview that will hold up you AOS. Read and reread the section on your I797C Appointment Notice that tells you the items you must bring to your interview as it may be buried in the wording.
