  5. That questions is meant to see whether YOU are racist or whatever. NO has to be the answer. You never were persecuted.

WOW... when a company has to refuse everybody in this country whose names don't sound American,....

Maybe some do when your name sounds muslim but did that company really tell you this or did you presume they refused you because of your name? Companies are not even allowed to ask your age.

Hi Guys thanks for the reply!!

  6. Hi Everybody, i will be filing N-400 pretty soon, and i have a question about Number 11?

It says have you ever persecuted ( either directly or indirectly) any person because of race, religion, national origin, membership in a particular social group, or plitical opinion?

I had field a charge against one company they didnt hire me because my name doesnt sound American!! and they descriminated me because od that and i press chargeges against them the case still pending now in the court.

Do i have to answer yes or no to question 11? thanks i appreciate it.

  7. My husband just had his naturalization interview just the other day..

Doesn't matter if applying on 5yr or 3yr rule...still send copies otherwise they will ask you in your yellow letter(the letter stating what to bring to your interview or what was missing) to bring them to the interview anyways. We filed with the last 5yr copies and brought or last 3yrs of tax transcripts to the interview. I know that they like the transcripts better than copies of your fileds forms. The transcripts tend to be easier for them to reference,to see that you pay your taxes!!Thats why they want them! Also during my husbands interview that was the only thing the officer asked extra for and he only wanted the last 3yr. transcripts. Luckily we had them with us!

Good luck with your naturalzation process...this one can actually be exciting and not stressfull!! Congrats!

    Hala

Hey, thank you guys for your reply i do appreciate it, now its makes sense to me!! God bless.

  8. i have question, who must register for Selective Service ? i was reading about it and it says all the people from 18 to 26 years old must register:

Under current law, all male U.S. citizens are required to register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. In addition, foreign males between the ages of 18 and 26 living in the United States must register. This includes permanent residents (holders of Green Cards)

do i have to register i'm 29 years old now and i entered the US when i was 26 years old , and i'm permanent residents now.

    Thanks.

No, you are free and clear! The law applies to you if you were 26(or younger) when you became a permanent resident, not when you entered the country.

Thanks for your answer, i do get my Green Card when i was 26 years old, that was in 2007 and i born in 1980 do i have to register? that confusing me, thanks

The law applies if you became a permanent resident before your 26th birthday so you are good. On your permanent residency application, you sign a waiver providing your information to selective service for registration. While, I don't know if they automatically register you or not, another person on visa journey as well as my husband found that they were registered even though they didn't know it. Either way, you are fine, but here is the website if you want to check. https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfVerification.aspx

Thanks for your reply i do appreciate it.

  11. If he has been a permanent resident for 3 years only and he is divorced, he is not eligible to file for citizenship yet. His divorce isn't going to hurt him with immigration, but it will mean that he doesn't qualify for the 3 year category. He needs to wait until 90 days before the 5th anniversary of his green card before he is eligible to file for citizenship. There is a question on the form that asks marital status - he just needs to fill in divorced. It won't have an impact on his citizenship unless some problem turns up between now and when he files that makes them question the legitimacy of his marriage and arrival to the US in the first place. That is always a possibility but not a big one as he has already removed his conditions on his green card on his own.

    Does this answer your question?

Thanks Kathryn for your answers, yeah he got divorced when he was conditional green card, and he did filed in his own for 10 years green card and he got approved without interview becuase he had a lot of proofs with his ex wife jointly like mortgage ...ect, so now he is going going to file for Citizen in February of 2010m and he has been here 5 years and he has right to file as for it, he was just little curious if they are gunna ask him why he got divorced or something like that, i told him its no big deal and they already knew that you are divorced when you filed for removing of conditions, thanks .

5 years after you get 10 yrs green card, 3 years after you get your green card if you are still married, 5 years after you get a divorce even u had a conditional GC, and yes its a big deal when you apply, they will keep dragging you up to 5 years, its hard very hard when u get a divorce and try to apply for citizenship, and yes they will ask you about your marriage of course. so you are going to have that green card untill its almost expired before you get your citizenship. or may be not in some cases unless you hire a good lawyer. ta dik sa3a b9a hta tched lhram l9asis a sahbi malek zerban a ba l3alawi?

Thnaks for your reply, i know all that stuff and i had told him they are gunna review everything even if you are married or not!! how come you speak Moroccan and you are from Turkey!!!

  13. I hope he knows that if he is no longer married to the US citizen through which he emigrated, he'll have to wait until he has been a permanent resident for 5 years to apply (instead of 3) for citizenship.

Thanks guys for your respond i do appreciate it, i told him the same too he is little confused if it will affect his N-400? i think he doesnt have to worry about it because the immigration already knows that he is divorced and he filed on his own!! thanks.

Nobody wants to answer my question?? :innocent:

  15. Hi Guys, a friend of mine was married to the USC and they got divorced before he got his 10 years green card, he did file in his own good faith, and he got approved without interview, so now he will file for citizen in February of 2010, he was wondering if they will mention his divorce at the interview or something, i told him you dont have to worry about, thanks guys peace.

  16. bird lover,

another quick question. When did you get your conditional green card? the waiver "may" take even 2 years to get approved if you divorced soon after your conditional green card. 751 waivers are low priority. So it wont be a surprise to see someone waiting 3 years from the date you got ur conditional green card. Your final decesion would come sometime after your one year extension expires. That's the worse case.

No not usually the waivers get approved within 2 years, i had file with waiver and took me less than 3 months and no interview, AOS no interview I-751 no interview as well, just keep praying and everybody have different circumstances, good luck to all the waivers.

  17. My husband came in on a K-1. We married, he adjusted status, we divorced. If he makes application to remove conditions (by at least 3 months prior to his 2 years) do I have a legal right to know? I ask as I am responsible for him for 10 years since I'm the one who signed the paperwork.

Hi there your ex-husband he didnt need your signature to get his 10 years green card, he can remve the condition in his own, i'm sure he got his 10 years green card by now and you dont have nothing to do with it. can you file you timeline please
