OBX reacted to Done--Really in Second time to file petition of I-130 HELP PLEASE!!!!!
My vote would be to remove the word "touch" from all our vocabularies since it is almost never up to date, and just makes everyone nervous.
-
OBX reacted to Ryan H in Second time to file petition of I-130 HELP PLEASE!!!!!
A case being "touched" is a VJ mannerism that a USCIS phone operator will likely no nothing about. A case being "touched" means absolutely nothing and no stock should be placed in a 'touch' whatsoever.

OBX reacted to Anh map in "Address in the US where your relative intends to live"
you are going to have to establish a US domicile as part of this process. If your friend's address is what you plan to use then list that one.

OBX reacted to Inky in Expedited Interview Montreal Consulate?
NVC books spousal visas. You cannot expedite because you are pregnant. Your just going to have to wait for the interview to be booked. Call NVC and keep asking if an interview has been booked yet.

OBX reacted to Ryan H in lived together vs stayed together
"We have not yet lived together" is a proper way to answer this question. N/A means the question itself does not apply, since you two are married, the question does indeed apply.
On my form, I put "We have not yet lived together" and the petition was approved by USCIS with no issues.

OBX got a reaction from Nich-Nick in AR-11 and I-865 months after moving
You are not the first to forget but is necessary to file the change of address forms. Send off the AR-11 and I-865 now, put your new address on your I-751 application and all will be fine.

OBX reacted to keysjangle in I-130 sent, now what?
I would suggest doing rough versions of all the required paper work first. Figure out what you know and what you don't know. Read over the instructions plenty, and make note of anything pertinent to your case. Get any other required documents ordered/ready. Then wait out that NOA2. Once you get it, do your final versions of your paperwork with any revisions made and send it all out once its time.

OBX reacted to Anh map in Which date is used for CR-1?
Simply have your spouse make the interviewing CO aware at the interview. Also to the CBP officer at the POE.

OBX reacted to Done--Really in Help needed with final step at nvc
Together, of course. I just don't know where the myth about sending things separately comes from. It is true that the two packages go to different departments for processing, but I think we can assume that the folks in the intake section can read and send them on their way to the appropriate departments...it worked for me, and for countless others.
Of course I'm assuming you have paid both invoices and that you have the proper bar code cover letters attached...have you done that ??

OBX reacted to Ryan H in G325A and I-130 forms: leave blank in some boxes or put "None"/"N/A"?
Don't leave it blank, doing so could result in an RFE. My wife doesn't have a middle name, so what we did was put dashes through that entire box for a middle name. I would suggest doing the same in the last name box for your wife's form.

OBX reacted to VanessaTony in cover letter mistake
They don't usually read the cover letters so no stress.

OBX reacted to Done--Really in What are the odds of a smoker failing the sputum test
Slim to none-- they are looking for TB

OBX reacted to Dave and Kinnari in So many copies?
For the I-130 you only need a copy of the marriage cert. not the original or certified copy.
The IV packet you need to send an original and a copy (not certified) a plain regular copy.
At the interview you will get your originals back but it's good to have another original just in case they ask for it.

OBX reacted to Inky in does uscis send mail to canada
Then how do you plan to just go live in Canada on a US green card? You would not be living legally in Canada that way. A US green card is for living in the USA, not for living in Canada. You need proper documents to be able to live in Canada. Your story makes no sense at all and sounds like a huge fast track to lose your Green Card and get in trouble but you seem to not care what so ever.

OBX reacted to Ryan H in Opinion on Cover Letter for I-130
This sentence:
is not necessary. Everything else looks good.

OBX reacted to Inky in does uscis send mail to canada
The Canadian company is willing to sponsor not only the USC for a work visa but you too? You cant just move there with him, they need to get you a visa as well. Immigration works the same way in Canada as the USA. Cant just randomly move to another country because your husband lives/works there. This means you have to maintain status in two countrys accordingly. Theres a lot of research you needa do on this and my advice is to just look for a job in the US and disregard the Canadian job. You will get caught at the border at some point and they will take your green card away because they will figure you out. CBP are not idiots.

OBX reacted to Done--Really in PLZ HELP IF U CAN NEED SOME INFO
Do NOT listen to those lawyers--these cases rarely cost less than $5000, and often much more. LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY--you must go to www.immigrate2us.net as suggested before and you MUST talk to Laurel Scott--she is among the very best for this type of situation.
DO NOTHING else before you talk to her--your whole future hinges on it.
-
OBX reacted to Ryan H in Just received my VISA, what now ?
Most Canadian airports have customs preclearance facilities. When there is a preclearance facility, customs procedures will take place there.

OBX got a reaction from HeatDeath in Calculating the 90 days
At this stage IMO you are fine; they would have returned your package as soon as they received it if it was too early. Now you just wait. Good luck!

OBX reacted to rahulv in Change of Address
As milimelo suggests, do it as soon as possible.
You should have done this within 10 days of when you move .
That's a condition and responsibility for you as a GC holder.
In any case since you didn't USCIS may forgvie you but to avoid further complications and to receive the 10 year GC at your new address and all other correspondence please file AR-11 online as soon as possible and don't forget to mail the I-865.
-
OBX reacted to milimelo in Change of Address
AR-11 for immigrant filed online. Confirmation online, print it out - nothing will come in the mail.
I-865 filed for you as the sponsor (have to mail this in, will get a confirmation letter).
Use new address on the I-751.

OBX reacted to Ryan H in Re-Opening a Closed Case at Montreal
Not as of August 15th. Canada does not have a USCIS field office. If there is no USCIS field office in a country as of August 15th, then the I-130 and accompanying paperwork will have to be sent to the Chicago lockbox.

OBX reacted to pushbrk in DS-230 Question #35
What I suggest is to complete the top two available lines with the information about the latest two visits. On the third line type or print the following. Multiple visits since 19XX. No overstays. The year entered should be the year of first visit to USA. If not sure, add the word "about" before the year. Works every time I've seen it tried.

OBX reacted to pushbrk in Visiting my husband in the US- will i have to prove non immigrant intent at the interview?
If I were in your shoes, I would consider this a non-issue and enjoy your visit. Nothing to see here. Move along. Really.
