Hello, everyone! I know this is a bit late but I have been terribly sick that my review is late. But... Better late than never. I have a couple of things I would like to share that may not be common to most people who have gone through the citizenship interview and testing process.
A week before my interview date, I received the yellow letter, telling me to bring the divorce decree and certificate to my interview. I did of course, do that. I was a little confused since I gave them a copy of the exact documents they asked for.
Nevertheless, I was armed with said documents the day of.
Interview schedule: 7/18/13, Thursday, 10:30am, Louisville, KY
I got there about 10:08am. They were not busy at all. We all went there - my daughter and my 13month old boy, and my husband. Of course, since we needed to rush, the lil man decided to have a dirty diaper. Had to deal with that and finally made it to the check-in at 10:20am. There was nobody ahead of me so I went on to inform them I was there for an interview. He asked for my GC and my interview notice. So, yeah I gave him my card and gave him (to my horror), my biometrics letter. I was so out of it, I could only tell him, I have misplaced the interview notice. He said that was ok - to me huge relief. He looked up my name and told me he will give my GC to the interviewer and she will give it back to me after the interview. WHEW!
    Time check: 10:23am
There were 2 people ahead of me but, it was no more than 5 minutes that my name was called. I walked in as we exchanged courtesies and I was "sworn it". We sat down and the first thing she asked (yet, again) was where was my interview letter. Apologetically, I told her I lost it. Now, I am highly OC and I have never dropped the ball EVER SINCE day one in this whole immigration journey - until this time. I jokingly told her it must be my postpartum brain working the magic. Then she handed my GC back to me. She was a very nice lady - soft-spoken and proper. She went through and confirmed with me all the information that I wrote on the N400 packet. I am currently working from home as an independent contractor for project management and consultancy for myself and we had a bit of a discussion about how I would like to place that "employment status" on my documents. I told her to just write down "homemaker" - as she added that information on my forms. Good enough. She told me it won't affect my certificate. She then asked me to sign the form indicating that she made one (1) addition to it. Signed it and then we moved forward.
She then announced that she will be starting with the test and asked me the 6 civics questions which I answered correctly. I could see her ticking "correct" boxes on the form in front of her. We then moved forward to the reading and then the writing test. After that she told me I passed the test and my oath schedule will be mailed to me along with the venue and time.
She eased up after that so, I took the opportunity to ask her how the scheduling of the oath-taking is done. She told me that I reside in a county that will probably place me in 4 different cities/courthouses that conduct oath ceremonies and it could be any of those. That was it. I thanked her and I was on my way. Time check - 10:33am.
So, currently, I am now just waiting for the notification letter. Based on what i have observed in good ole Louisville, the oath ceremony could take anywhere from 60-90 days from the citizenship test and interview. So, I am looking at anywhere from mid-September to mid-October.
    Thanks, y'all!

Brsko - the immigrant from the Philippines comment was not necessary and highly insulting to a Filipina like me. It is not a matter of fortune to marry an American citizen. It just happens that the man I want to spend the rest of my life with is an American. I didn't dream - even once - and aspire to be here. Things just happen. I find the comment about illegals unfortunately agreeable - maybe not put in the most sensitive and appropriate manner but true. I work hard, pay my share of the taxes and I see people I would love to help still having a hard time because the taxes I paid is given out to people who rely on welfare. I entered here legally and feel like I am treated second class when I need to deal with immigrations and savings bled dry. No, it is not fair. I understand her sentiments. I am not trying to start a fight but we all should rethink statements before we make them.
