I had my interview in this embassy and everything went well, when it comes to the immigration officers, I will give them 4 stars.
The only thing I didn't like in this embassy is when you are trying to call them to ask some questions, the operator is very rude and no one answers the phone except from the automated messages.
The Indian consul told me that I have to wait at least 2 weeks before I will receive my visa, but after 4 days, Its in my hand.
Congrats on getting visa in your hand. I have done my medical today. Obeid Hospital says that I will get the sealed envelope in a week. Regarding the documents required in the interview, I have one question.
My case was filed using joint sponsership. The instruction on the website says that they need most recent tax papers. Can my joint sponser send them directly to the Riyadh Embassy? I tried calling Embassy and sent them email as well. But no one is responding. The operator is just passing me through one extenstion to another.
Any pointers?
Regards

Congrats dude...
I just received an email from NVC today telling that my interview has been scheduled on 9th March in Riyadh embassy (finally,, Hurrah). I hope that my interview will go as good as yours and I get approved like you easily..
Once again .. congrats.
Finally, I had my interview in Riyadh on January 23,2010, my schedule was 1:30 pm and I had my final interview with the American consul at around 3:40 pm, my interview lasted for about 20 minutes. The American consul was a fine young woman, she is so nice but if she is talking with the other consular officer and ask for their opinion about my case you can see that she is a very tough officer.
She asked me with so many questions, and most of the questions are not just answerable by YES or NO or precise dates of each and every occasion, I have to think hard about the answers that I will give to her.
what I learned and what I can say to those who are having the interview soon,BE HONEST, that's the main tool.
Pictures, Greeting Cards and my wife's telephone bills played a very important role with my interview, they didn't ask for any other documents.
During the later time of the interview, the lady consul just talking to me in a very casual way and after repeating some of her previous questions, she told me to go to other window to get my stuff back, she didn't told me if I was approved. The Indian consul returned all the original documents we submitted to the NVC and keep my passport. He didn't told me either if I was approved, He just gave me a violet card with a written phrase "Collect Passport" and asked me to bring it to the FedEX and return the airway bill. I was really confused and thinking if I was denied or approved, so before I leave the window I asked the Indian consul if I was approved and he said, Yes. I didn't feel anything, as in anything. I passed through the window of the American lady consul and said Thank you and she just gave me a smile.
Until I got back to my hotel room, I'm still not convinced if I was really approved.
I can't wait to see my passport with visa in it to make my self convinced or believe that I was really approved.

It seems that this is a dead thread as no one is replying or posting any comments.

Any input of what you think of our chances of being approved is greatly appreciated.
Hi,
Just out of curiosity, What are the updates on your case? My case has just been completed in NVC and it is going to be send to Riyadh Embassy. I have read this thread and it seems that the condition is very bad in Riyadh embassy. The last post in this thread was a long time ago. Can someone update his/her status. Is there anyone else who is going through Riyadh Embassy??
Please give some guidelines.
1) My case was completed in NVC on 15 Jan. How long it will take to receive the details of medical and interview dates?
2) Which hospitals are approved for medical exam?
Thanks in advance

Just want to update this thread...
Changing of embassy / consulate is quite easy. Email them your passport copy and any proof of residence with case details of course. In my case, my proof of residence was in arabic so i got the english translation and sent copy of both. They assigned me a new Case no in a week.
You do not have to wait for their response email It will take time. Better call the operator and ask you new case no directly.

I agree with you that situation in Pakistan is not so good but honestly any person which i met here in RIYADH US EMBASSY . They try their best to make deny the visa their is a lady very famous (B)itch in that US EMBASSY who treat every one like slaves and don't even reply your Hi or hello .In my case i had interview on NOV 3 that women did her best struggle she was not ready to listen me she was keep saying where are wedding pics ?????????? i told her we got married simple way and i showed her pictures of us together i had 106 photos and she kept over 50 pics and my passport either and all original documents including wedding , birth certificates but after very bad interview experience they didn't told me im approved or not all they did handed me blue slip and said we will contact you if we will need anything .Now my wife have contacted Senator of KY to check on our case what they are going to ** with us . Anyways bro its not easy journey they tested me by every angle .... we are praying so hard bcz its over 14 months since we have filed petition and still waiting for visa . plz pray for my visa approval .
Thank you !
Hi Fiaz,
Sorry to listen that. I hope that you will get some good news from them soon. I will pray for you for sure.
In my case, I have some good points.
1) I've been married for 3 yrs now.
2) We have a daughter who is 2 yrs old.
3) We have been living together since marriage. (Except for few months)
4) We did not meet online. It was not a distant relationship.
5) We have been engaged for 2 years before getting married.
BTW, i have called NVC and they said that you have to provide proof of residence in Saudi Arabia. I came here on 3 months visa and then I got my iqama which is valid for 2 years. Now if I send them my passport copy, they will object that the visa was valid for 3 months only. I am thinking about sending them a translated copy of Iqama showing the issue and expiry dates. WHAT DO YOU SAY?
I have email the Riyadh US embassy as well asking help but still no reply. What documents you submit to prove your residence in Saudia?
So I think that I do not have much to prove to them that it is not a fake marriage. By the way

Hi All,
I am the benificary of I 130. The case is in the state where DS 230 should be send. Problem is.
We have filed the case when I was in Pakistan so the case will be forwarded to Islamabad embassy in Pakistan. But I have relocated to Saudi Arabia now due to my job. Now I want NVC to forward my case to Riyadh Embassy in Saudi Arabia for the interview. Is it possible? If yes then how can it be done?
Should I just call? or Send them some letter?
How long it will take?
Is there anyone else who has done that. How was the experience?
I have emailed NVC but they did not reply till now.
Thanks in advance
We did that by involving Senators . But i recommend you dont go with Riyadh US Embassy they are very Rude . We are thinking if they call me for 2nd visa interview we gonna try to change counslate to Islamabad from Riyadh. We are hoping they wont ** with us and will issue me visa from Riyadh. All i need is prayers of everyone .
Fiaz
Thank you !
Thanks Fiaz for such a prompt reply. Can you give me some detail about experience with the Riyadh Embassy? It will help me in deciding whether to transfer my case or not.
I am on Work visa here for nearly one year now.
1) It is difficult to go to pakistan again and again (In case the isl guys do not give me visa on first interview.)
2) If they take my passport, I do not know how long i have to stay in pakistan and i will suffer my job here.
3) As you know the current situation of Pakistan, you never know when they will close the embassy for undefined period as they had done in past.
Waiting for your reply.

if the case file has not been sent to a consulate (if it is still at NVC then it has not) then you are not harmed in anyway to request a change...
Hi,
1) How to ask NVC to change consulate. Should i just call them Or email Or a letter by mail?
2) How long does it take to change consulate?
Thanks

Dear All,
My case was approved in sept and received by NVC on 10th. I received the letter for I864 bill. I made the payment and it is entered in their system on 24th of sept. (I got this info from the operator). Now it is 15 Oct today and i have not received my packet. I called NVC and the operator said that they have not sent the packet yet and he will forward my case to his supervisor.
I just want to know is it normal or it is just me waiting for packet since 20 days? What is the average time for receiving packet after acceptance of the payment??
Thanks

I got approved in Sept. Yesterday I got my Letter of AOS from NVC asking to pay $70 fee. Can anybody tell how can i check the case status online in NVC like i use to see for USCIS?
Interview in Riyadh on March 10, 2010 (Full steps)
in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
Posted
Hi All,
Yesterday I had my interview at Riyadh Embassy. Here are the details steps and tips.
1) My interview time was scheduled on 9:30. I reached Embassy one hour earlier but it was of no use. They will let you in only after 9:15 (Immigration Cases only). You have to show the interview lettter send by NVC at the entrance.
2) I went inside and took token. I was the third person to take the token although my interview was first.
3) I was called on window 10. This call will be according to your token number. The indian guy took the interview letter and passport and asked me to wait.
4) I was called on window 10 again. The indian guy started taking the interview. He was filling a form according to my responses. He took medical report from me. Teared it. Took one paper from it and returned the envelope to me. One new thing. I have not read anywhere that they will ask about you job salary. This guy asked. Fortunately i took my salary certificate with me. I gave it to him. He kept on asking questions. When I told him that my wife is here with me then he asked to call her. I told him that we had a baby which is american born. He asked for passports for wife and baby. I gave him that too. It was mentioned in the letter that one should bring latest tax returns of the sponsor. I brought but he did not ask so I did not give. He asked me more questions. He took nearly 25 mins and then asked me to wait.
5) I was called again on window 10 third time. This time he asked me to give finger prints. Then he asked me to wait again for the second interview with the american guy.
6) I waited for quite a long time. I think more than one hour. Then there was an announcement to come on window 13. It is at the end of the corridor.
7) The american guy was very very friendly, nice and smily. Me and my wife went together. I will put all the question in then end. This guy took interview for about 25 30 minutes. He asked questions regarding meeting first time, engagement, marrige again and again. So better remember all the dates. He checked my Iqama as well just to check about family status. At the end of the interview, he said that i am approving your case but I have to check that if there are any missing documents. He asked me to go and verfiy my finger prints. (That is really confusing).
8) I went to window 10 again. The indian guy was there. But this time some other guy came , sat on the indian guy seat, did something on computer and then asked me to just put my middle left finger. Then the other guy left.
9) The indian guy at window 10 returned my original docs. He then gave me a blue card saying this is passport collection receipt. I asked him that what is the status. He said that there are futher processing steps that will take 2 to 3 weeks. I asked his number to call. He said that he will call me
10) No one asked for marrige pictures. CD are not allowed in embassy. They took my marriage ceremony CD at the gate.
So that is it. What do you guys think? Is my case approved? Does blue card means AP? Do they 2 to 3 weeks to every one who are now waiting for months? At least I am happy that they didnot put any objections. let me know what you guys think.
I wrote the steps in details so the guys having interview scheduled in interview can have better understandin. I am a little busy right now so i will post the questions after some time. May be tomorrow.
