I had my interview yesterday on 25th Nov, 2013 at Irving, Texas (Dallas Office). I arrived half and hour earlier. I had to wait one hour before I was called for interview.

The interviewer was a nice lady. I answered the first 6 questions correctly. She took IRS tax return receipt (It can be ordered from IRS website)

As I applied by marriage, I already provided the marriage certificate and birth certificates of our two kids. She did not check any other proof. She said two children are best prove of marriage.

She took the copy of ID, went through the form (double check the answers) and that is it.

She told me that i have passed and I will receive the Oath letter in few days.

I was out in 15-20 minutes.

I did not send a copy of previous passports etc so I was guessing thats why I got the letter but did u attach copy of your marriage certificate?

I did. but they asked to bring IRS Form 1722 (tax return information) for past three years. I ordered "Tax Return Transcript" online on IRS website on 11/06 and I received it today.

Hope this will satisfy them. But I will also take all tax return papers with me as well.

I got a yellow letter asking me to bring Passport and other travelling documents on interview. But its not interview letter. Now getting impatient for Interview, taking long.

Passed the interview/tests today!

All going through Dallas office (10051 Whitehurst Drive Suite 200 Dallas TX 75243)

I went for biometrics today. My appointment was at 8 am. Office opens at 8 am. I reached there by 7:30. If you are coming by 635 west, please leave early as there will be traffic jam due to construction.

People will start standing in line outside the gate around 7:45 am. Be quick. I was the third person in line. The office will be opened at 8 sharp. Security guy will ask everyone to stand in one line along the wall. Do not forget your letter and any ID (and green card in case of citizenship).

As you go inside to a counter, the person will check your letter, ID, green card and will give you a small form to fill (name, DOB, hair color, eye color etc). Fill it and give it back and he will give a token number. He will also stamp on your letter. Keep your ear open because someone will call that number soon. Beware there is no number sign so that you can see which number is being processed now.

As you go to the booth, the person there will scan you letter. He will then ask you to check the details. He will update it with the information on the form. He will then start taking your finger prints. He will do it quickly so do not worry. After that he will take your photo. He will also write something on your letter. He will give the book to study for the interview and a quick survey form to fill for their service.

All of this was finished within 10 minutes.

Just checked the status on uscis website and it said
On August 27, 2013, we mailed you an appointment notice to have your fingerprints taken.

1. It seems I will get the letter in few days. Is there any way to know the fingerprints time?

2. For all going through Dallas, is anyone planning to do early bio metrics? any insight?

After waiting for nearly 2 months after interview (AP), I received my passport with IR1 visa stamped on it valid for good 6 months.

I need some guidelines for the rest of the process. My visa expiry is end of Oct. I am planning to come to US in first week of August. My POE (Point of Entry) will be JKF airport.

1) I came to know that on the POE, I will get a stamp on passport that will server as temporary green card for me. Do I need to apply for green card afterwards or will it come automatically?

2) If i have to apply, Can some one give some pointers e.g. Name of the Form, documents required, website link? Do I need to apply for AOS? (I have IR1 visa).

3) If it will come automatically, how much average time it will take?

4) Do i need to stay there to take my green card or can i come back to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia? (I am currently working here). Can my wife collect it for me and join me later? or do i have to personally go and take it?

5) What about Social Security Card? How much time it will take and how to apply for it?

6) What other things I should do after landing in USA? (Medical insurance,work permit, etc)

Congrats on getting out of the AP hole... I figure there must be a light at the end of the tunnel but so far I only see a freight train coming dead on ... Congrats again!!!

After waiting for exactly 2 months after interview, I received call from embassy on 9th on this month that I can come on 11th and take my passport. Yesterday I went there and got my passport with IR1 visa stamped on it valid for good 6 months.

Finally after long waiting for more than 2 months in AP.. Riyadh embassy sent me back my passport with Visa on it..

Hello, did anyone ever respond? My husband had moved to Yemen after our marriage (for work) so we filed stating Sanaa as the location. He has since moved back to his home country of Nigeria and I would like to change where he has his interview there because it will be too hard to travel back to Sanaa. Any suggestions? Do I just sent an email to NVC? The DS-230 has not been filed as of yet. Thanks

Please check this link. It is a very easy process. You can just email them with prove of your presence in the city you want to transfer the case.

Update on case: As the interviewer told me that he is going to approve my case because it is already very late. I emailed them after three weeks and they said my case is in AP and we can not tell you time frame. Pray for me that I will come out of this soon as well. I think they are putting everyone in AP except Lancelot (a member here) who got his visa in four days.

I am deeply sorry to hear that. InshaAllah you will come out of this phase soon. For me, my interview was held on 9th march. The interviewer told me that he is going to approve my case because it is already very late. Still three 25 days has past and I am waiting.

I emailed them after three weeks and they said my case is in AP too. Pray for me that I will come out of this soon as well. I think they are putting everyone in AP except Lancelot (a member here) who got his visa in four days.

Thank you Aziz of your Help. This is very helpfull to me. Can I just submit the following documents to the US Embassy to get the lettetr:

1/ Approval letter from USCIS.

2/ Residency Permit (Iqama).

I still did not get the NVC letter yet requesting the PCC but I knew my NVC case number. I just want to have a PCC now in my hand, in case if I leave Saudia Arabia to my native country. I was told if I leave Saudia Arabia without one, it will be impossible to get one from abroad. Any advice on this ??

The docs you mentioned will be enough to get PCC. Just take a copy of your passport (Just in case). You have to go to window 10 (I think). He will give you PCC in few minutes.

You are right. You have to go to in PERSON to get the PCC coz they will take ur finger print. Once you are out of KSA, you will not be able to do that.

I have already replied your email but i am putting it here so that every one can read and if I am wrong, someone can give some feedback..

The step for getting the police certificate as follows.

1) Go to US embassy. Get a letter from them saying that they need a police certificate. You have to show US embassy your Iqama.

2) Get the lettest and go to Ministry of foreign Affairs and get it attested.

3) Go to area name Deerah. Ask the taxi driver to take you to the place where they take finger print. Tell him it is near the Mosque of Deerah.

4) As soon as you enter building a queue is the left hand side. Ask anyone. Show the letter to the police person and confirm that you are standing in the right queue.

5) After standing in the queue for some time. you will go inside a big room and have to sit in queue.

6) Have to fill a form. (simple) ask your neighbor for help

7) A person will take necessary documents from you ( Passport copy, iqama copy, pictures etc)

8) Another person will take you fingerprints.

9 A reciept will be given to you. You have to come after 2 weeks.

10) Go after 2 weeks. Do not go to that room. Go inside the main building. Go to first floor and ask anyone for help for the room. Show him the receipt and get you letter.

11) Get the arabic letter translated from any one of the authorized translator of US embassy. (One is near mama nora at dabab street.)

This all info is at least six months old. If anything process is changed till now, i can not help.

Have the joint sponsors to send the tax returns directly to you. You don't wan them to misplace it. Take it with you when you go for your interview.
