  1. I had an afternoon interview. We arrived half an hour before the appointment. We left pretty much everything in the car except paperwork. So, we didn't have to worry about our cellphones or other items. They do check them at the door. They also check your ID and interview notice.

After going through the security we went up to the third floor. In the waiting area there were about 15-20 other couples already waiting. We gave our interview notice to the receptionist and sat. About 10 minutes later I was called by receptionist. I was fingerprinted at the reception (right and left index fingers) and have my picture taken.

We waited about 15 minutes. A gentleman came and invited us to interview room. He was a pleasant person. He checked our ID's. He requested the copy of our lease, utility bills, life insurance cards, and bank statements. First he asked some of the questions from the 485 form, such as if I ever was prosecuted, if I ever lied for immigration benefits, etc. He asked us our birthdays and marriage date. He also asked our current address and previous addresses.

I had prepared a huge list of proofs including pictures, but he didn't asked for them and said he had enough proof. I could see in my file he had everything I ever submitted to USCIS before. He congratulated me and said I was approved and as of today I was a permanent resident of U.S. He took my EAD card and put it in my file. He gave me an approval letter and told me to expect my 10-year green card in the mail within 2 to 3 weeks. I was so happy that I forgot to ask him to stamp my passport.

Interview part was about 15 minutes. The whole experience lasted less than an hour! I am so glad this is over. Knowing that I am done with USCIS until I apply for citizenship is really priceless!

I really hope you guys all have an easy interview experience like I did. Good luck to you all....

  2. Congratulations. :)

    • Early-morning appointment? Good sign. The USCIS examiner will have lots of other appointments. He will want to get you out the door. Most MBGC interviews end happily after less than 15 minutes.

    • Afternoon appointment? Potentially a bad sign. The examiner may have spotted holes in your pre-filed paperwork or other defects. Could be a lengthy interview.

Has that been the experience of people here? That early-morning appointments go fast and usually result in an approval, and that afternoon appointments tend to be lengthly interviews?

I'll be able to answer your question after October 21st. I have an afternoon appointment. :clock:

  3. so now i want to know ehre did u get your interview letter from ,,, Ntional benifit center or your local office ?? cause u r gona have your interviw in your local office so i m just wondering if they r the ones who schedule the interviw date ,,,mmmm just something to wonder about ,, but when i check my status on line itsays ...........THIS CASE IS AT OUR NATIONAL BENIFIT CENTER ,,, i dont know ,:ot: i give up ,,

    :ot2:

Letter was sent from National Benefit Center. What I meant was, depends on how busy they are or how much behind their schedule, immigration schedule may differ from local office to local office. I am guessing NBC takes number of open cases into consideration before issues more schedules to that local office.

If you check processing times in local offices, you will see couple of months difference among most of them. This should not discourage you, though. Hopefully you will receive your interview letter soon, too.

Did you receive a letter at any point indicating that your case has been transferred to your local office? I'm a July filer who just got the EAD and I'm wondering what's the next thing I'm waiting for. There has been no touch on my 485 since biometrics.

    Thanks!

There was no letter, e-mail, or online touch since they received the RFE. I think they only send a letter if you are transferred to CSC. Otherwise you receive the interview letter.

  5. Received the interview letter today! No touch on USCIS website.

ohh congratulations :dance::dance: your case gives me hope cause i had my biometric 3 days before u and since then no touch nothing ,, now that u got your interviw letter today hopefuly mine is comeing soon too ,, i saw a couple of people whose biometric was in july just got they interviw this week ,,, i believe i will reciev something in the next couple of weeks ,,,,,hopeful

Hopefully you are next. I think the difference between interview dates are because of the local processing times. Some locations seems to move faster than others. Either way, you should keep an eye on the mail. Good luck!

  6. Has any June AOS Filer not received a touch since Biometrics?

This was my last update on USCIS's website.

USCIS WAKE UP!!! stop sleeping on the job :) hehe

You know what...my text is different :

Mine is pretty much same except it says I should expect to hear from them within 60 days.

On August 7, 2008, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. 7. Hi guys,

I received some information today that was quite exciting but I don't want to be excited because someone on the USCIS line were just misinformed.

Today I called them after waiting 90 days and no word on my EAD and what I've been told is that there are actually no holds in my files and not receiving the EAD card might be because my files are in a juris...(that's all I could understand about the name) office, meaning that they might be ready to make a decision, based on what I sent in and no red flags at all, well, that would be awesome if that happened, but I never heard of such thing before so I'm wondering if I should actually be excited or it was just some delirium by the lady I talked to LOL

She did put in a request for service on the EAD and said I should hear from them in 30 days and if not to call again, also said infopass wouldn't help me any and they would do the same thing they did over the phone.

Has everyone heard of something like that? Please share your opinions, thank you.

I'm adjusting from J-1, too. I received my EAD. Nothing is happening with my AOS, so far.

  8. I have no touch since biometric. It seems that my case has not even been transferred to CSC yet.

    I am so worried.

I am convinced that 'touch' has nothing to do with the speed of the case. There was no touch on my EAD since the NOA. Not even after the Biometrics. I received the approval yesterday. If I didn't have an RFE, probably I would have received it before.

    so late?

    congrats!

I had RFE for AOS. I believe it affected EAD, too. Anyway, I am happy it didn't take longer.

  11. Hi all, here is my timeline.

    AOS (USC Spouse)

    Date received 6/22/2008

    NOA 6/26/2008

    Biometrics 7/18/2008

    RFE 7/22/2008

    RFE Received 8/07/2008

    LUD 8/07/2008

    EAD

    Date received 6/22/2008

    NOA 6/26/2008

    LUD 6/30/2008

    Biometrics 7/18/2008

Since they received the RFE, there is no LUD on my AOS, whether online or mail. I am hoping to receive EAD soon based on similar time-lines I see, but I am afraid the RFE may cause a delay in my case.

Congratulations to those who already received their approvals. And, good luck to all of us who are still waiting.
