canadian_wife got a reaction from Adventine in Can you do medical while visiting the US?
I guess it all comes down to options.  You can spend the extra money for a hotel in Quebec for a week.  Or you can spend the extra money for a round trip flight to Quebec/Toronto for just the medical.

Good news, neither of those places are a 13 hour plane ride from Halifax.  It is about a 2 hour plane ride if google maps is correct.

    Good luck

Where do you live that the nearest medical is 13 hours away?  Why can you  not get it done when you go to Montreal for your interview?

    Good luck

canadian_wife got a reaction from Chancy in Which visa while waiting for spouse visa?
I know that the waiting stinks.  Even living in Canada my USC husband and I had to live apart.

i guess I don’t understand why the re-entry permit that Crazy Cat suggested won’t work.  Have your husband return to the US, apply and receive the permit and then return to Spain to be with you for the duration of your wait.  That seems like the best advice you received.

    Good luck

Was there anything written in your passport when you were removed from the airport?  tell us more about that situation, especially when it happened.

    Questions
    1. You can always ask but they are under no obligation to tell you.  An FOIA request may get you some answers - especially at the border.
    2. I am not sure about this one because I am not sure the entirety of your situation.
    3. The pregnancy, in itself, will not impact your waiver.  Not sure what working with a license only in US even means.  Waivers should be done with a lawyer in my opinion.

    Good luck

Congratulations!  Having your fiance finally arrive must be a fantastic feeling!

You, as a US citizen, may leave and return at your leisure.

Your fiance, may leave at any time.  Her issues centre around coming back.  She is only permitted to return as a green card holder or having a valid advanced parole document (depending on what your ultimate goal is).

Being married to a US citizen, in itself, does not grant her any benefits.  It simply allows her to start a process towards residency.

There is no picking up where you left off.  The k-1 is a single entry visa.

Are you looking to move to your fiance's country?  Just visit?

    Good luck

What country are you from?  I see very long wait for visa interviews, especially non immigrant visas. So having 3 in 3 months is astonishing.

    What are you studying?

I have attended one of the cheaper US schools while on a student visa.  It was still tens of thousands of dollars.  How will you show you can financially support yourself (a requirement for all student visas, plus health insurance) if you do not have support from your parents?

    Good luck

What does that mean they didn't interview you?  Can you please explain what happened?

What was your port of entry?
Were you taken into secondary inspection?
Were you asked to show ties to Canada?
What other questions were you asked?
Was anything written in your passport?
    Were you given any paperwork?
Were you asked to sign anything?

Please give us more information so we can help you.

Yes, I was denied entry twice to the US.

Mine was due to lack of ties to Canada.  I am sorry that happened to you.  Care to share any details?

Financial support is another topic of research you'll need to do.  As the US citizen you will need to show you can support him, or have a US citizen/LPR as a co-sponsor.

start reading and ask LOTS of questions.  Your situation does not seem unique at all so you will get lots of great advice.

Although Canadians do not travel on visas, I was denied entry to the US twice prior to starting the Cr-1 process.  Did your girlfriend sign anything at the airport when she was denied entry?  Was anything stamped in her passport (very important)?

Also remember, VJ does not dispense legal advice (based on the title of your thread) so if that is what you are looking for, you will obviously want to hire a lawyer
