  1. For me it's The English Patient. I really tried to like it since it was an Oscar winning movie and all but I couldn't help but sleep through it the first time, the second time I saw it I was so bored I had to fast forward some bits in order to finish it.

    OMG blasphemy!!! LOL.

That is my all-time favorite movie. The quote in my siggie is from that movie. I loved it!

  2. Yes, it does count in your total income and it will be used in determining if you are eligible for the EIC. You should have received advise from a tax professional before you cashed it out and you could have avoided these issues.

    Thank you for your reply.

The fact that I asked about the EIC should answer the question about hiring proffessional help....in and of itself ;-)

There are places and agencies that give pretty good tax advise for free.

Really? Would you happen to have a list of those resources becuase we could sure use it right about now....thanks!

  4. My husband worked for Canada Post for several years and this past year he cashed out his pension. He was taxed 25% by Canada.

When filing our taxes this year (married/joint) where do we claim this money?

Do we have to claimm this money???

Is there a way to exempt this money (and if so, which form) because the taxes have been aid to CANADA

If we can, in fact, exempt this money, but still have to claim it.....will it count towards our total income for the year (and therefore losing us the EIC?)

    thank you very much.

  5. I was over the whole bar scene before I even turned 21 (fake I.D)

The last time I went was on my 35th B-day, a friend talked me into it and I never felt so out of place and OLD...blech. Not my idea of fun what-so-ever

  6. Yep, online.....on a neurological disorder forum of all places.......LOL

Friends, email, phone etc....for two years, decided to finally meet...he flew from Toronto to Vancouver, I drove up......INSTANT chemistry....

another two years long-distancing...after a while he moved to B.C to be closer.....

I was going to go there, but ex wouldn't let me take the kids,

we got married, almost a year of Visa stuff til he finally arrived....so 5 years total to be together....married 4 years now.

"What a long strange trip it's been"

5 years total from "meeting" to him being here, 8 years all together now.....WOW

They are expecting more snow here in Portland Wednesday.. and Saturday.. augh.. dont want to drive over the Pass.. to California with weather like this.. but. augh. got paid reservations in Anaheim.. for Disneyland before christmas...

Has anyone ever gone south.. from Portland to California.. via.. 199 to HWY 101.? Roseburg to Crescent City? .. how is the drive... ..

In my search.. it doesnt have any hazard flags due to weather.. yes it will add a few hours to the trip but safety is more important..

we drove down the 101 all the way to San Fransisco.. it was so nice.... I loved it...

That's the nice part...once you get past there and all the way to Oregon it SUCKS.

My ex-husband and I drove from Ventura CA to Lincoln City OR, and it took us 26 hours and it was awful.

I'd cut over around San Fran to the 5.

LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. Don't do it!! Take the 5.

My ex and I tried it once because we thought it would be scenic and it wa snothing but mile after mile of winding road through mountains.

    I hated it.

P.S snowing here too! LOVE it......

  9. We both are...when we were first dating and he was in Toronto and I was here, he did somethings that blew me away on the romantic scale.

NOT candy and teddy bear stuff...really thoughtful and inventive.

Three years together and a kid.......not as much! Too tired and busy.
