Told my wife I wanted an InstaPot for Christmas. Her expression though told me I ain't getting one. She did buy me a muffin pan 2 days ago and I made blue berry muffins and then cornbread muffins.

Unfortunately I had to edit Nixon's first name back to Richard. Visa Journey's censor doesn't like the diminutive name.

Most likely he will be acquitted by the Senate.

I heard the score 35-3 at halftime and thought the Bronco's must be getting whooped. Never would have guessed it was the Texans who were on the receiving end. Some say it was payback for stealing Osweiler, but that was actually it's own reward.

Oh snap, just looked at Google, and saw that Buffalo Trace and Old Weller are made by the same company!

In the revolution and Communist Russia putting people against the wall was how they held them accountability but it still meant to execute them. Never has that term ever meant as she claimed it does and mean to just put them up against the wall and let's chat about it. If she misspoke then so be it but she still said something reprehensible and shall be judged as she deserved to be.

Oh but she may actually be too young to have learned about much history or other concepts but that is saying she is too young to be addressing any important issues or taken seriously.

I will be making Roast Beef for Xmas Eve -- I make it with an untrimmed tri tip, as this is the cut that Alex likes the most that is readily available here. I usually choose one that's about 3lbs, because there's only two of us and that is plenty for one meal and sandwiches for Al. Very simple -- I rub it with a mix of 1 tbsp of Colman's English Mustard (dry) mixed with 1 tbsp of Wondra flour (it is better, I think, with very fine flours), then a generous amount of freshly milled pepper and sea salt on all sides. I cut a large onion in half and place the seasoned beast on top of the onion. It then goes into a 475F oven for 20 mins, then I turn down the heat to 375F and roast it for another 15 minutes per pound, plus about 10 minutes for medium rare (don't add the extra time for rare, about 20 minutes extra for medium, and anything more than that makes you a heathen). I baste it at the end of the initial 20 minutes, then again every 15 minutes. Then it rests for a while, at least 20 minutes under foil. The onion and the drippings go into onion gravy (also another use for the Wondra flour). For Xmas Eve, I'll be making a larger roast than normal so we can have leftovers on Christmas Day PLUS sandwiches for Alex.

Extremely simple, and I'll usually have brussels sprouts or green beans on the side, along with horseradish. Sometimes I let myself be pestered into making mashed potatoes, since apparently I am amazing at it. (The key is a ridiculous amount of butter and half and half.)

And we will be having some of this at some point over the holidays: https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/51877/edradour-2006-12-year-old-natural-cask-strength We brought back a bottle in October -- it was bottled in the year that he and I tried to have a relationship but couldn't figure it out -- here's hoping we finally have!

Haven't tried that yet.  Just the normal stuff, recently Buffalo Trace (pretty decent).  Reading online reviews, I want to try some Evan Williams 100 proof Bottled-In-Bond.  Supposedly great flavor for under $20.

I'm in NYC for the month, and supply seems limited where I am (Flushing), but I will keep an eye out for you for 107 O.W.  Just searched here, one of the largest liquor stores I know around (Manhattan), but no joy on Old Weller.     https://www.warehousewinesandspirits.com/websearch_results.html?kw=old+weller

You are most welcome and glad I can be of assistance to you.  It seems like I never get any gratitude ever in my daily humdrum life for anything I do so getting this little pat on the back is very much appreciated by me and if you ever needed anything ever explained more plainly then feel free to let me know. Life is a little better today than it was yesterday. 🤠

Yeah and he owns his own studio and even a distribution system and puts out 2 or more movies a year and he also has studios lined up to pay him to distribute or show his movies. Every movie he makes  is profitably for him.

Haven't even planned on making one and am looking for something different so the recipe looked promising. Right now I am considering pecan pie, chocolate or lemon cake but maybe also pumpkin pie.Already was told I will be making Gumbo and we are getting a duck instead of turkey this year. I want a kickarse dessert.

    Bread Pudding

    3 double batches

    2 cups granulated sugar
    5 large beaten eggs
    2 cups milk
    2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
3 cups of cubed bread, in the US Italian seems to work best, I let it go stale for a couple of days. You do not want it to be too stale.
    I cup of brown sugar
1/2 stick of soft butter I would often add more.
Pecans, I did not measure them but added to make a presence. Most expensive bit and you do not want to add too many but enough that hopefully you have one in each spoonful.

     Sauce
    1 cup of granulated sugar
1 stick of soft butter I would often add more.
    I beaten egg
    2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
    1/4 cup of Brandy ish.

Now I used small pans and grease proof paper for easy release, each one made 2 large portions.

375f for about 50 minutes,  but that is high altitude. Give it half an hour or so and check, you want it brown but not burnt on top. Consistency underneath should be doughy but self supporting.
So basically mix everything together and then let it all soak except the sugar which you add to the top.

I prefer it hot but if you make a lot you can refrigerate, wrap portions and then zap and add the sauce or ice cream or preferably both.

luckytxn reacted to Ban Hammer in Santa Claus Accused Of Quid Pro Quo For Giving Children Gifts In Exchange For Good Behavior
U.S.—Legislators have begun to hold hearings on impeaching Santa Claus after an overheard conversation seemed to imply he was offering a quid pro quo: gifts in exchange for good behavior.
FBI agents spied on Claus at various malls as he repeatedly said things like, "Sure, I'll get you a pony. But first, I need you to do something for me... be a good little boy!" The FBI was able to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on Claus, because it's easier to get a FISA warrant than to get a Costco membership.
"Ho ho noooooo!" Santa Claus cried as investigators leaped out and cuffed him at a Dayton, OH mall. "Not good! Sad!"
