  1. Yup, welcome to the lazy culture of America.

Our culture is not lazy!!!!...(neither are Americans).....and if our culture was lazy we wouldn't be a nation that is progressive compared to the rest of the world. You'll find the same type of people all over the world, who won't take the time to work a little harder or use their common sense to get things figured out. Please refrain from putting the US down!!

Funny how many people want to be part of this country

  2. To continue from the top

My only question to you is why has the IRS and the Treasury dept, flagged her account? If the account is flagged you might have to do some pretty good explaining as to where this money is coming from. Don't play around with the feds, they can get really nasty. See how much trouble they give us just applying to be a citizen ...lol

PS Im sure DHS and the postal service are aware of this too. I would speak to a local banker and ask them what they would recommend. AT least then you have a banker advising you and not some people on the internet. So if they ask you, you can then say, my banker told me to do it...not that it's going to help much, but it's better than saying some people on the internet told me to do it this way...=)

    Good luck

  3. Your account just get's flagged for review by the AML (Anti Money Laundering) group at your banks head quarters or field offices. It's reported mainly to DHS, the Feds and the US postal service. As long as you have nothing to hide, your good to go =). The government then determines if it is worth their time to look into it or just wait for the next big fish. This is what we did at the big bank I was at. Good luck.

  4. St Paul doesn't do pics at their location. They only do your FP and your supposed to send in the pics with your N-400 application.

ST PAUL IS SOOOOOOOOOOO SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWW. At least for me =)

I recall though on my biometerics last year for my permanent residence card (10 years), St Paul ASC took pictues and those taken were the one used on my card. The ones I sent with the application were better, but was not used. So when does USCIS start issuing notices for interview? How many weeks, days or months after the biometrics.

Hey RDan, same here they took my picture for the 10 years card last year at the st paul office...what time did you show up for the biometrics? I plan on going on saturday morning coz i am not sure I can do it on the 28 either (work related #######), Maybe like 8 am on saturday.. is the st paul office even open on saturdays? Thanks

I'd give em a call before you head out there to St Paul.....not the Bloomington office. As far as I know they are closed on a Saturday. St Paul bio office is always quiet....Every time I have gone there it's dead, same for the office in Bloomington. Good luck guys!!!

Sylvia, i see that on your timeline, you say that oath taken is in line? Is there a place online where you can see an oath taken schedule for various locations, especailly the st paul area?

It's Silva....lol and no there is no place online to check. I was just a big pest and called every other day to get some answers. Had the Senators office call too. That's what I was told when the Senators office called.

  6. You can't really call the FBI...you can..but you are not going to get very far with them. Sucks that your name check did not come in time. Somebody dropped the ball at the USCIS...ooo imagine that eh? Contact your Senators office.....see if they can provide any assistance to you. Have the USC spouse contact them, it helps. Do some research on which Senators office works better with USCIS...strange as it seems, one office gets better answers than the other.

  7. Dear VJers,

A note to thank you for all the support, help and encouragement I have received on here. It helped so much to come and vent my frustrations and also try and help people out. Good luck to everybody on their journey to become a US citizen. It's an awesome feeling standing there and taking that oath. Here is my story if you care to read it.....

My journey started on July 31st 2008 and ended 9 months later on April 30th 2009. It was journey of much frustration and waiting. The first part of the journey started great, got letter in the mail, then received the bio letter....I had a little calendar that I plotted out when things should be received. HA! serves me right trying to predict how the USCIS works. I thought I had them down to a science... Boy was I wrong. The other July peeps were getting their interview letters and I was still waiting, alas came a letter in the mail 2 months later, woah...It was YELLOW. I looked at it and said uh huh something must be wrong. Opened it up to find that they wanted a whole bunch of documents...that's it no interview letter...I shook the envelope a couple of times, may be it was stuck in there.. Nope nothing fell out. So I said maybe I should ready the letter again, I must have missed the part of when my interview date was....sigh...there was no date. :crying: So I called them up explained to them that I had received this letter, and no interview letter yet..what's going on? Don't worry they said, you'll get it in the mail soon, just make sure you get your documents soon.

Well one of my Docs required was a letter from the SSS. Ouch....did not know about them until I applied for financial aid for school. So figured I'd call them, they stated to write a nice long letter explaining why I did not register with them and send in SUPPORT DOCUMENTATION...shiiii... Ok so I sent them this nice long letter, and all documents. Cool another thing to wait for.... It's Late October now...no letter...no interview letter, the last thing I did with the USCIS was August 28th. Called the SSS up asked them...PLEASE GIVE ME A STATUS...give me something....anything....so she checked and checked and checked....woohoo...SSS accepted my letter, let me know it was not my fault and that I got a number. SWEET!!! She gave me my number over the phone and I was thrilled. Oh...in the mean time I contacted my Senators office....just to see if they could do anything.......They sucked....heck the guy who was in charge of my file never really contacted me. I emailed him 5 times NOTHING!!! Annoying....Oh and I called the USCIS every other week. I was extremely bored between classes and they told me to call them if I had any questions...figured I'd make good use of my tax dollars  .

Ahhh November comes along...woohoo... Interview letter......XCITED!!!! December 8th interview date....AWESOME!. Did my interview and passed, I/O stated err 2 weeks to a month before you get your oath letter. REALLY!! That soon. AWESOME!! I skipped out of the office. December flew by...and so did Jan and Feb and March...called the USCIS a bunch of times, went to the office too. It's 25 mins away. heard a whole bunch of stories, your file is approved to, your file has gone into re verification, to your file is siting on the supervisors desk to get signed off on, to we cannot put an inquire into it, because it under normal time frame. WHATS normal to the USCIS I wondered. LOL. I laugh now....I was super PO'd back then. So I had my wife bug the other Senators office, no help there either. They stated June or July I would get my oath..JUNE OR JULY!!! Are they nuts....I have things to do. So I made my wife push the Senators office harder...she stated she would try and see if they can rush it. LOL....TRY..TRY? REALLY...

So I called the USCIS up, DEMANDED to speak with somebody who knew what the heck was going. Sorry sir they stated , we can file a request to find out why St Paul is so slow. Go ahead I said....1 week later an email comes back, states you have been approved and should be getting your oath letter soon...WOOHOO... Letter came a few days later, and I was sworn in on April 30th. I AM NOW AN AMERICAN CITIZEN

Moral of my story: Don't give up, push as hard as you can, it might upset some people, but push harder.

  8. LOL ...here we go again....So before this thread gets out of hand like it did the last time =) Here's the scoop

    1. Some of us on here believe that it is in your best interest to put down YES, since getting a ticket is a citation regardless of the value. Your trying to show good moral character and your being up front and honest and not hiding anything. Plus it does not hurt your application. Same question shows up on your oath form, and while I was in line this young lady walked up to an I/O and asked him a question...She stated that since her interview she had been cited for speeding and that her ticket was 125 dollars....SO she asked him does she need to check yes on the box. He looked at her and stated a ticket is a citation and if he was her, he would check yes on the box. He also told her that it's not a big deal and that it wont stop her from getting her citizenship.

    2. Some others on here, as you can see state no, you don;t have to report it since it's below the 500 dollar limit and some have even spoken to the customer service lines and they have stated don't include it, or somebody has laughed at them when they asked about it.

So bottom line...it's your choice what you want to do..add it or not. To answer your question..I would put careless driving, and attach an explanation of what happened. Put as much info as you can. It's not so much the ticket, or the careless driving..they want to see if there is a pattern of this. Your trying to show them that your a person of good moral character, and by explaining this to them your being honest. Good luck on your journey.
