It's April fool's day, lighten up. Hundreds of others on Thaivisa.com fell for it too. You're in good company.
Going forward, you should probably investigate a story a bit before you post it all over VJ (you posted this in two places). It is not uncommon for someone to post something (a "news" story) on VJ and claim it is factual when it is not. This should not happen. Just because it is on "many other websites" does not mean it is legitimate. In fact, it was probably posted on other sites by people who didn't do their due diligence and assumed it was true. If the story does not come from an established news source, it is to be taken with a grain of salt.

The answer is none. Apple is certainly a pioneer, but they tend to lose interest and let others release better, more compelling products after they introduce their product. Example: Android phones are quickly stealing market share from Apple, and, in fact, and more popular at this point in terms of sales.

I think you're in denial. Yes, I read the "particulars" very carefully. Mostly, they were not actually particulars. They were your understandably emotional and inexperienced interpretation of what you heard first and second hand. Unlike you, this ain't my first rodeo and I'm not emotionally involved. You can bet your boots, I "understood" better than you have any frame of reference to comprehend.
As for the "I" statements. You missed the point. You said, "There should..." when you are in no position to judge whether there should or should not be (whatever). I absolutely clearly understood your "There should" to mean, "I want" and/or "I wish". That you want it and/or wish it is understandable but there are reasons why "investigations" don't have time limits. The reasons they "don't" are the same reasons they "should not", no matter how much we may "want" or "wish" they would.
The Consulate's fraud unit IS doing and WILL complete their job, whether you want them to or not and whether you like how long it takes. You can spend your time berating them or otherwise spinning your wheels if you wish. My advice is to have that heart to heart, get down to the details talk with your wife and see what about the interview or her past may have triggered this. Perhaps you won't find an answer, but if you do, you'll then be able to start preparing any needed response.

This is strange even for Thailand.
These reasons you state are ridiculous. Do you mean to say they gave you a document with these reasons for the delay on it?
    # 1 Her ability in English isnt an issue.
    # 2 Legaly married is as married as you can be.
    # 3 This gang of 7 hookers applied for immigrant visas & that affected your wife? This makes no sense at all.
    # 4 Meeting on the net is accepted. There are many visas approved after meeting on the net. That includes me. They didnt question us about it other than the initial question.
Something happened at the interview to give the officer the impression your wife worked in a questionable enviorment. They are required to investigate the situation. This isnt the first time we have heard of these investigations.
In the end I hope she will be approved but you will both have to endure the investigation time period. I assume she had a police report that didnt indicate any problems. The embassy will double check her background by contacting the central police department. They will inquire with police in her city, town or village. When that investigation is done they will report the findings to the embassy. This is why no one can tell you how long it will take. Everything takes a long time in Thailand compared to the USA.
Politicians have little impact on the workings of USCIS other than approving their budget. There are few circumstances where they can or will help. They all have a staff member trained to placate the voter.
It is true that you must wait. It isnt true that it will be years. The last case that involved this type of investigation that I know of took about 60 days. That person was employed in a bar/ restaurant. The word bar set off a firestorm. She was actually employed as a cleaning person. The visa was approved.
Immigration reform has been on hold for 60 years. It will remain so for a long time. The US governemnt has too many other problems to deal with as we can see every day.
These matters are very personal & emotional for all of us as we endure them. My advise is to forget the attack tactics & try to work on positive measures for your future. There is no reason to think she wont be approved in the end.

You have some good thoughts, but nothing changes quickly at the federal level. Once you get your NOA2 this will be a distant memory, so no use getting all worked up over it. Your energy would be better spent preparing for the rest of your journey.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of ignorant people on both sides. One side has people who can't stop babbling nonsense about socialism. The other side has some people who aren't willing to give anything in the name of getting the financial affairs of Wisconsin in order. Maybe if those people from both sides would just shut up, we could get somewhere here.

I am neither a loyal liberal nor a loyal conservative, and I do live in Wisconsin. In this case, I'm siding with Walker though. The teachers, for example, are being quite unreasonable. Why do they deserve significantly better benefits that anyone in the private sector? They don't and especially not better taxpayer-funded benefits. If they really cared about the kids as much as they say they do, they would get back into the classroom and do their jobs. Watching the protests and seeing some of the signs these people are carrying is shameful indeed. What a dark day this is in Wisconsin history.

Daimler/Chrysler does it all the time. General motors has done it. Toyota Has done it. Ford has done it. BMW has done it. Audi Has done it. Subaru has done it. Volkswagen has done it. Why can't the USCIS? You don't have any clue as to what I am talking about; do you. AUTOMATION!!!!!! Why can't we just log onto the USCIS website. It asks us what we want to do. We tell it what we want to do. We are automatically transferred to the application process we want to complete. One long form pops up that we can fill in the blanks. At the end of the application you can download the instructions for sending in any documents that are required. The computer system will not allow to you to make mistakes such as grammar recognition or format programs. You pay the fee online. You are then given the opportunity to scan and email to the system any documents. You can then print out a signature page which covers anything that was scanned into the system. You mail the signature page into USCIS. The computer system automatically approves prior to the signature page being mailed in. This process would take all of the time to fill out the petition online and mail in the signature document. The background checks would be automatically requested through one central database taking 2-3 days. DOS would only get involved if they received hits on the Petitioner or Beneficiary. The petition would then be electronically forwarded to the embassy which would then email the applicant who would receive a link to proceed to the scheduling program. The applicant would complete any document online and then send in a signature conformation page. The applicant would also receive any instructions automatically through the embassy website. How many people have touched the petition? Very few!! How long would this process take. One month MAX. Why don't we do it then? They can still create a roadblock at the embassy for those who simply do not qualify upon the merits. My GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It only takes 30 minutes to review one K1 or IR petition. This is totally ridiculous. We should be screaming at the congress to fix this. I am not an IT whiz, but this idea that I have laid out can be implemented so easily. Petitions in boxes stacked up to the roof; what? Are you kidding me. When I discovered this logistical nightmare, I said "What the F%$#!!!!"

The best advice anyone ever gave me during this process was 'stop obsessively pouring over the "statistics"'. There are definitely people in this thread who are spending way too much time trying to make sense of these numbers. This will get you no where. Just wait until the 5 month mark and bring your senator into the mix if you don't have your NOA2 at that point. In the meantime, find a hobby.

That's because Chrome uses its own internal PDF viewer. IE and Firefox delegate opening of PDFs to whatever PDF reader/plugin you have installed on your computer as they do not come with their own PDF viewer. If you have the latest Acrobat reader installed on your computer, you will be fine. If you want to bypass Chrome's internal PDF viewer, you will either need to download the PDF to your computer and open outside of Chrome, or
    1. Type "about:plugins" in the address bar (without the quotes)
    2. Hit enter
    3. Click on details (near the top right)
    4. Disable "Chrome PDF Viewer"
This will open up the PDF in the Acrobat plug-in if you have one installed. I don't recommend disabling the Chrome PDF reader though, personally. The other option is to use the older form at visapro.
This is an issue with any PDF viewer other than the latest Acrobat reader. FoxIt will not open up this PDF either. This, I hope, was a mistake on USCIS's part.
