They take the fingerprints electronically/digitally on a computer....long fingernails shouldn't matter!
-
I am not sure about driving in to Canada but when you leave the USA they take your I-94 and you will be issued a new one on your return.
My kids were on K-4's and travelled back to Australia before the K4 expired......they got new I-94's when they came back in. The I-94 shows that you were inspected on admission to the US.

Our interviews ( me and 2 kids) were scheduled at different times on the same day.....but they took us in together.
Good Luck!

If money is tight then apply for EAD asap after he arrives.
You can hold off applying for AOS until after he starts working and things get better financially.
-
K'3s need EAD or a greencard before getting a SS number.....why??......who knows they just do!
You have to remember that you should not be filling out the applications for your wife....she is the one applying to adjust her status.......and she needs to complete the forms and sign them.
They will send em back....have her sign them then send them back in...........shouldn't hold things up too much.
Good luck!

WE filed AOS about 22 months after entering US........no problems at all.
We just received our ten year cards.....the officer who interviewed us said it was sensible for us to wait for that very reason......to get a 10 year card.
You shouldn't have any problems. Good luck.

congrats!!!
btw, what pic do they use for GC?
-
I agree with u wait....no hard and fast rules.
Good luck
-
be patient.......there are many that have waited and are still waiting longer than you have been.....us for example.
Ours also transferred to CSC and was transferred back, then on to interview.
There are no guarantees in this process and as we know it is very inconsistent.

I had 2 medicals.........one in Australia which was quite thorough......a lot of questions and strip down to underwear etc..........and I had one in US. The one in US was nothing like the one in Australia...as someone said in and out in a mter of minutes.
-
We had our interview on Monday.....me K3 and my 2 children K4's.........we all had different interview times on our letters but they took us all together and we were all done withing 10 minutes.
Good luck

Well after a very long journey......(our own choice to take so long) our AOS was approved this morning. Yay!!!
Piece of cake....we were in the office ( the four of us ) for a total of ten minutes, we stood up swore to tell the truth etc.........he asked us the questions......have you ever been arrested....do you plan to cinduct terrorist activities etc.....asked if I had a current letter from my employer which I gave him plus my husbands last 3 bank statements and that was it. Stamped our passports with the I-551, took our EAD cards and wished us good luck.
That was it ....didn't want any pictures.....bills......joint stuff.....and he made the comment that we were sensible to wait before applying to Adjust as we will get a ten year green card. This is maybe not the best thing for everyone but in our case (K3/4) it was.
For anyone still in the process the best advice I can give is to be prepared.....be organised....have with you the things they might ask for and don't panic!!
We are done!!!

Yes you need to file for your son. He will need an I-485 and an I 864. If he is under 14 (and I am guessing he is) then you do not need to file the G-325A for him. The fees are less for children too....and they do not require the biometric fee.
The fee for my daughter's application was $225.00 but check on this as it may have gone up since we filed.
Good luck.

I need to update my info here.....
well we were transferred to California way back in November....at the time I wondered if it was a mistake as we were adjusting K3-4. Well apparently it was a mistake as a couple of weeks ago we were transferred back to Missouri!! Grrrrrrrrr......
We received info yesterday that our AOS interview is July 23 in Manchester, NH.
