  1. Hello all,

I received the interview paper work today (interview Jan 20th Tokyo) and the packet is directing me to the "Interview Preparation" web page click here. and my question is do I bring all this information to the interview even though I sent this to NVC?

I understand bringing the Medical check up, my passport style photos and my Passport. But what about the birth certificate and other items listed on the web page?

What did you bring to your interview in Tokyo to the American Embassy?

    Machiko.

  2. Today I called NVC to check our case. They told me that we have a RFE, my wife sent a copy of her first husbands death certificate to them just as she/we did to USCIS. However they said they need the original 'copy'(?).

Now she sent the same to USCIS why isn't it good enough for NVC?

So how can we/she get a "original(copy)" from Chicago (the place of her 1st husbands death) Will they release it to me.. I don't think so. Will they release it to her. I think so. Then send it to Japan, then she sends it back to the U.S. and to NVC.? (a set back of approx. 20 days - 10 day for it to get to Japan and 10 days back to NVC) :(

So where or what place do we call to get a copy of his death certificate in Chicago? Also could we have them send it directly to NVC?

    David.

  3. My wife had(s) her own business in Japan for 15 years doing acupuncture and physical therapy. We check about her working in the U.S. in that field. To satisfy the western governing body of health, she has to go back to school in the U.S. for 2 years and take a test again. What is funny to both of us is that Acupuncture is not a standard western thing it came from the east... SO... she has to go to school agan... and learn the western way... ha ha ha.... and it will cost us $$$$.$$

I hope everyone get a good job...

  4. Thank you 'RedGlasses' for the information. "Tokyo British Clinic", do you remember how far that is from the Embassy and a hotel?

    David

Tokyo British Clinic is open on Saturday and you can pick up the result in 2 hours if you pay the expedited fee.

Supposedly you need a letter from NVC to make an appointment, but clinics in Tokyo seem to be flexible if you tell them you are in a hurry.

    Good luck.

  5. Hello All,

Well we are almost done.. We are waiting for the approval from NVC and then they will send the paper work to Tokyo (via DHL..?) then the medical and interview..

Question: When do we get the medical exam done? Do we need a letter from NVC, or just make an appointment with one of the hospitals that do the medical checks.

How long does it take to get the results...? If we make the appointment on a Wednesday, could we get the results in time for the interview on Monday. From where my wife lives from Tokyo it's a full day travel just to get there. So she wants to get there spend the night in hotel, medical check the next day, spend the weekend, interview on Monday.

    Thanks for any help.

    David

  6. On average, after you received your letter stating that you and your spouse have been approved. How long after that was your interview at the embassy?

What date did they give for the interview, two weeks after receipt of the approval letter... One month..... ect.

How many of you were also able to call the embassy and get your interview date moved to a sooner date or later date?

    David.

  7. Dave............

Welcome to you and Meg.... Gongrat's.....

It shouldn't be any trouble.. There are two ways for this..

First.... Fill it out with your current address, and then once you moved you call them and tell them you moved and this will also got your I-129F a touch.. witch are like gold around here... ha ha ha....

Second use your parents address as the "contact" address until you move and then again call them and change it to your new N.Y. address..

    David

P.S. once you start please keep your time line up to date.. If fun and it helps others out too.. Post some photos of yourself and your soon to be bride...

  8. Hello,

This question is directed to fathers whom are remairied (oviously) and have children from there first marriage.

This is pertaining to the I-864 Affidavit Of Support question on page 3, part 5, section 21-D.

It reads Question 21 = ‘Your household size’

Question D = ‘If you have dependent children, enter the number here.’

    Now my question is:

Since this is for support reasons ($$.$$) and I do pay my child support, however I do not get to count them on my Tax returns… So does that still make them a ‘dependent’? Seeing that there not counted on my tax return as a household dependent? Do I count them now on this I-864 as a dependent?

I’ve tried calling the NVC to ask them, but I can never get to a live person.

    Thanks

    David

    Best wishes..

  10. OK

..... Well I guess Not everyone; except a few relay UNDERSTOOD my posting....

..... I was or am NOT crying, nor complaining about my few moths wait so far......

..... I simply asked "WHY IS VSC SO SLOW" is that better..? And if you could "Would you pay more for a faster approval???"

..... Maybe I should have asked "Why is CSC so much faster....???" As for the title, yes your correct, I should have worded it differently however how can you change it after you press the send?? Sorry. How about "Frustrations with slow VSC..?" Why am I frustrated with VSC since I'm as CSC.. Because I care about everyone here. Maybe this would not have gone this far if I HAD been from VSC...

..... A I C said "We've all contacted senators, congressmen, VSC help lines, etc etc etc"

I am really happy that you took things in your own hands and ran with them. You made an effort to move your self ahead in this process instead of sitting on your hands. Maybe that helped someone else too and isn't that a good thing?

..... MsZ, you asked "So where you get that this has put you back 3 months (or any estimate for that matter) I don't know. But you are making up the numbers."

..... As a reference I was looking at the left side of my profile page where it had the "time line" link where you can click on and see an estimate of where your file should be finished. Of course that date changes with everyone filling out there time-lines too. So over the course of last week I saw it get farther away.. that is where I got it from. Yes I know that that date is not used by USCIS, however it's an estimate, that like your self most (not all) people look at for an end.

..... On that note.. Congratulations to MsZ for getting her approval today she was Moved to California 8/6. Acknowledged as received on 8/9. Touched 8/11, 8/12 and 8/15, 8/20, 8/25, NOA2/approved by CSC 8/26.

..... I AM happy for everyone who gets approves.. I never asked for anyone to feel sorry for me nor any sympathy .. (if you do, well then, thank you.. I will do the same for many other people here).

    Lastly...

It was NEVER my intent to upset anyone with my questions.

Enough....This post needs to die tonight... Now be happy for every one who is approved...

  11. Fool i've been waiting twice as much as you..

Shpat. Sory to hear that... SO why are you mad at me??? What did I do; but ask a question that in some why has offended you?

Have you contacted your congress person or layer yet?

Read my post again... I don't think I'm a fool for asking the questons....

    Why is VSC so slow???

Would you (you being everyone here reading this post) pay a rush fee if it meant you got processed faster?

I've contacted, 2 senators, 1 congressman, Obdusmans office, Director of USCIS, made 2 formal complaints against VSC at Department of Homeland security. Talked to Supervisor overseeing Vermonts processing and 2 supervisors at vermont. Where has it gotten me? Please look at my countdown for more infor ;)

    To: 'Ilya R'

Good work. I am relay happy and proud to hear that your taking things in your own hands and running with them.

Your making an effort to move your self ahead in this process instead of sitting on your hands. However it's sad to hear that nothing has come from it yet...

I just hope someone you contacted will do the right thing and help someone whom is trying to help them-self.

Good Luck and I hope you and everyone else gets approved soon.

  12. TO: CaNdiD wiTcH

The reason I waited to file is that I moved back here to the U.S. from Japan to helped start up a new Advertising firm. My wife and I wanted to wait to be sure it would not fail. Also, so that I had a good income for the I-864 AOS.

So after I / we felt the company was doing well and my income was where it should be for my position in the company. I / we filed our I-130.

  13. Fool i've been waiting twice as much as you..

Would you (you being everyone here reading this post) pay a rush fee if it ment you got processed faster?

  14. Well I NEVER SAID I've been waiting SOOOO LOONG........ (CaNdiD wiTcH)

I don't think you read and/or understood my message..

SO, please go back and read all the words and don't skip or come to a pre-determined conclusion to my thoughts and question which all of you failed to answer.

But if you do have a cookie.... (Shpat and Kath) I would like one thank you for the offer.

By the way.. Shpat I remember just the other day you crying about things.. so eat a cookie too..

We ALL get frustrated by this process, No need to take it out on each other, Unless it makes you feel better.

Oh and I have been with out my Wife since 02/18/07. Thank you for your concern.

Hope you all get approved soon.

  15. I know I should not feel this way but.......

This month on the 8th, the 9th and then the 12th. I got some touches, I checked my VJ 'time line' on my profile and it was saying that I should be approved by Sept. 28 - Oct 10th 2008 Needless to say I was happy and content thinking it would not be much longer...

Now since all the transfers from the VSC office to the CSC office my VJ 'time line had my approval date as March 2009.... so that just added 6 more months since all the transfers..

Please don't get me wrong... I am in no way mad at you the other filers... I am frustrated with this system and how slow it is.. I read the post from the ex-immigration worker (some of you I'm sure read, if not click here.) that a typical I-130 form takes about 15-20 min to approve.. so why is VSC so slow..

Is it all the FBI background checks? Communications with foreign country's? or just not enough employees?

I said it before and I'll say it again... I would be willing to pay a higher fee for them to higher more people or I would be willing to pay a "rush" fee to get this done faster...

Would anyone else be willing to pay more for a 'rush' or higher fees so they could hire more people? Or what about this.. Heir people whom have gone through the process them self. Maybe things would move a bit faster..

  16. JyJ,

I was kind of in the same place you are.

I/we opted to do it this way because of the I-864. (and that a joint sponsor would be difficult). I moved back to the U.S. got a job, lived with my parents for a few months then after a few paychecks got a place of my own, and then started the I-130 process. She has visited here since a few times, rearranged the house to her standards, (you know how that is) and all is well yet frustrating due to the immigration process.

Since we have been married for over two years the CR1 should go through smoothly and she will receive the green card for 10 years.

Just a side note. (my wife and I agree.. Don't let your wife or child give up there Japanese citizenship..) Just our opinion.

    D.

  17. You know it's a double edge sword for us all....

The people whom are coming from the VCS might be processed a bit faster.....

However the people who were already at the CSC might take a bit longer since the work load was increased.

I had gotten three touches this month.. I was getting excited.... then the transfers came from VSC and nothing since..

Don't get me wrong I am happy for anyone who gets there cases finished... I just hope it doesn't change the CSC in to a office like the VSC and we all suffer a slowdown..

  18. Nothing of lately here,,,

I was getting excited seeing that I had three touched last week, and was checking the I-130 spreadsheet of other California I-130 fliers and seeing that we were next in line to get our I-130 approved (maybe wishful thinking), but all we got so far was passed up..

So disappointment has started again.. Although we are trying to keep our chins up. "Soon it will happen" we keep telling each other. Still with the frustration in our voices that anyone listening in can hear we talk about other things like news family and the Olympics. Checking how her country is doing and mine too. Asking 'Who are you going to cheer for during this or that event?' when one from each others country is competing against each other.

Still when the call comes to an end, the sadness and reality return and we hope for another touch and the approval will come soon...

    Go Japan, Go U.S.

Well for that matter, Go every country do your best. Good luck, don't quit, Don't Give Up.

  19. Hello All,,,

Well unlike usual after coming home after work I did not check the USCIS page first thing but instead started to watch the Olympics opening ceremonies and then during a commercial, I thought well I'll check the USCIS page, and there is was a new date... A.K.A. = A Touch!!!!
