Hi Anixter,
We are in a similar situation and are having our wedding June 28.
If you think it will be processed in December, you should be fine. You get 6 months to move to the US and then an additional 90 days from the moment you get your passport stamped in the US (if I am not mistaken).
What we are doing, is Peter will move to the US in mid April, so that we will have our wedding still as planned.
If you move to the US in mid March or later, you should be good to have your wedding on June 6th.
Hi Susan,
We were planning on having me move there 2 weeks before the wedding to help finalize everything. I am going to work until the last week of May to be in a better financial position when I do make the move. Given that it will take a few weeks/months for the AOS and work permit to kick in, we're trying to keep that window as small as possible! Otherwise I'd jump at the chance of going there sooner to be with my gal!
I may move that up a little bit depending on how things are going with the preparations but she has an army of relatives there that are looking forward to her getting married that they're all giving us a hand which is absolutely phenomenal.
We were thinking along the same lines, that Peter work for as long as possible and then move over, so we can make some money in the mean time (especially since I am still in college, graduating in May, and am pretty broke haha). The reason he is coming in mid April though, rather than later, is because he wants to be here for my birthday, see me graduate from college, do last minute wedding planning, plus my parents want to get to know him much better (and they would have a hissy fit if he didn't come that early, but that's just my parents lol). But I definitely know where you are coming from, and I think your timeline will work out just fine, it will be close, but not that close. I wouldn't be worried.
But man, wedding planning is a ton of work. That's great that the relatives are helping out! We are trying to do bit by bit, but it can certainly get overwhelming. Good thing we are only having a wedding of around 50 people! haha

it is strange how slow it has been moving...i am hoping tomorrow they will spit out like 20 NOA2's to all of you to make up for it! haha. that would be so cool.
but for those of you that were touched within the last week, and still nothing, i really think you did get your NOA2's. something funky is definitely going on with the computer system. and i never did get an email from them letting me know that I was approved...and it has been almost 2 weeks now since my NOA2 was issued.... weird.
i bet a lot of you will get your NOA2 in the mail and say, when did that happen? haha.

Ooooh mannnn.
In response to the coke bottle guy:
First of all, like many others on here, I also met my fiance online (on eharmony actually). We learned to truly love each other for who we are, and I'm glad my fiance didn't pick me because I was some "coke bottle" shape or whatever.
You need to fall in love with that person not with just their exterior, because who that person is what sticks around while physical looks fade with time (let's face it, when you get older, you don't look as great lol).
So what are you going to do when your "coke bottle" woman gets old and she may no longer look as great or as shapely? Sorry pal, you can't recycle her and get your 5 cents back. Sooo, I really hope you love her for more than her appearance.

congrats!!! i knew my hypothesis would be right!!!!
haha
-
and to further prove my hypothesis I see that SapphireDreams was just approved yesterday, and they had their last touch on July 9th, looks like the rest of you will be coming along shortly!
-
i have this strong gut feeling that the bunch of you who were touched on July 9th will start getting yours tomorrow, and for sure next week. aside from some random given NOA2, there does seem to be some sort of sequence that they are going by to give out NOA2's. Coaster and I had the same exact touch dates, and got our NOA2 (and next touch) at exactly the same time. since we both got ours approved last Friday, and we had both had our last touch July 7th, I strongly believe all of you July 9th touches, will get your NOA2 within the next week! how exciting

Congrats PS Love! I have a question for you. You guys met on eharmony.........how did you answer the question pertaining to IMBRA? Does it apply?
Thanks
Hi mbbs, thanks! When i first read your comment I had no idea what you were talking about haha, but looking at the I-129F again, it seems as though you were referring to question 19. I had checked no, and never gave it a second thought. But now I could see how that might be a fuzzy issue. We didn't have any RFE's or problems with checking no and explaining about eharmony in the "how we met" section, so it looks like it is fine. I did a quick google search and it says IMBRA exempts large corporate dating sites such as eharmony.com, match.com, etc. Hope that helps!

I am just having such a bad feeling. It seems that more than half of all June filers got approved by now...
Actually, I did some independent querying of the VJ database two days ago and my conclusion was that only about 1/3 of the people who filed in June have their NOA2.
There were 116 NOA1's issued in June, of those 55 have their NOA2 and 22 of those were May people crossing over. Going by filing date, there were 89 peeps who filed in June and 34 of those have their NOA2 (one got the NOA1 in July).
So see? Not so bad.
I am sorry.
But sometimes I just can't stand it anymore and go crazy about it. It just feels like such a pain in the a**. I mean ####### VSC. That's just all bullsh**.
Ok, enough being angry.
i agree panterchen! i've definitely gone crazy. we are one of the earlier June filers (sent on June 4th), our last touch was July 7th... this wait makes me want to work at VSC. i would send out NOA1 and NOA2 super fast haha and i am sure i would be much more efficient than this whole load of #######. i wonder if you can work at the VSC even if you've filed a K1 yourself...
hmm haha. yeah and it totally made me angry when i see september filers already getting their NOA2.
-
hmmm. according to visajourney, no one got an NOA2 yesterday (from either Vermont of California). why would that be? unless a bunch of people forgot to update their timeline...and so far no one has gotten an NOA2 yet today either...hope this is not a trend! and this is me over analyzing probably haha
but mikelovesgracey has been getting touches, yayyy, so that gives us hope
hope you get approved today!
-
i am so tired of waiting! i think i have gone crazy. i check the USCIS site every hour now! lol. 27 people filing at Vermont who have filed after me have already gotten their NOA2! where is mine?
last time i was touched was July 7th...
they must pull names out of a hat to decide who gets their NOA2 each day because there seems to be no logical order anymore. how on earth do people have their NOA2 already who just filed in September?!
i think i am going to go eat some ice cream to comfort myself lol

hi!! i'm Susan, a college student from NY filing for my sweety pie who is from Slovakia. we have an 8 year age difference, and i don't think age differences seem to matter much in this process. your age gap is much smaller than many others i've seen on here anyway! oh yah, and Peter and I met on eharmony.com, soo maybe one day you will see us on tv on an eharmony commercial!
advice? obstacles? hmm...well i'm in the middle of this process, i should be getting the NOA2 within the next week, but my biggest problem so far has been waiting haha. i am pretty impatient. so my advice would be trying to improve your patience haha. but i know that in the next part of the process for me it will be a lot of work to get together paperwork from my co-sponsors, so if you need co-sponsors, plan that now to let them know far in advance to get the appropriate paperwork together for you.
by the way, this is a great site. it helped Peter and I tremendously. stick around
-
Hey all. We are new here, so any help/advice would be appreciated
So I've filed our case online with USCIS and I've heard that when the date is updated on the website, that means you are "touched." Our date just changed to today, on the 4th of July...but on the USCIS website it says all USCIS offices are closed today because of the national holiday. So were we really touched from another day and it was a delay? or does it automatically update on holidays, so we weren't really "touched"? I have no idea.
Thanks!
Susan & Peter
