  1. Hi!

I'm sorry if this is the wrong section I'm writing this post - I'm still learning how to do this

I remember half a year ago I accidentally found a list of people that had got RFE and reason of it, and next to that when they got approved if I'm not wrong.

I might have been mixing up something, maybe it wasn't on VisaJourney webpage.. but I do remember that it was a downloadable word file where you could see a list of profiles/people.

    Thanks in advance!

They do mention about police records, but normally only for those with 3+ alcohol related incidents. Odd that they've asked him for this. Maybe he ticked a box he didn't need to? Or has he perhaps been arrested more than 3 times but only convicted once?

Oh we just got the letter!!! It’s the court documents. We need to show charges and dispositions for every offense

Oh, no no, we’re still waiting for the RFE letter, but I’m just guessing what it could be.. I know it’s quite misleading, but I just want to be as prepared as possible 😅 I just have seen other people posts about them getting an RFE because of their DUI (that they need to send the police records). Because I know we just sent the original (? I know it wasn’t just a basic copy, so it must be a certified copy) court document

  4. I just double checked and he has only one DUI. So I’m guessing the RFE might be about showing police records, although they didn’t ask for that in the I-129f form. That’s annoying that they always ask for RFE if someone had DUI. Why they couldn’t mention about the police records in the form in the first hand? At least that’s what I’ve read about other people that had RFE’s whose fiancé’s had DUI before.

    I’m beneficiary

  5. Hey hey!

I was wondering if we needed to send the I-129f case with both DUI documents? Although we were able to add only one of them because the other one was deleted in the system.. or I’m just overthinking.. if anyone has an experience like this, please share!

(Both documents as he got DUI twice)

Oh, and we got an RFE, we’re waiting on the letter, but I’m guessing it’s about asking for the CERTIFIED court documents and police records.

That's the hope!! Also congrats on your approval :)!!!

Thank you, Turquoise, I do hope it will all be okay :)

Yeah we thought so too, it really does seem like these things happen and it depends on who you get on the day!! But I'm sure you'll get lucky and not get an RFE! I hope your approval comes soon! :)

Thank you for the kind words!! 😊

Yeah it sucks when we thought we'd done everything right!!! (Especially after following many guides and doing research over months, we did not go in blindly.)

But we don't know what the reason is yet! I was just checking yesterday and saw our case got the update of status, but we won't receive the RFE letter in the mail for a week or so, I believe. The wait for it is going to be hard but I'll be doing some research in the meantime to hopefully calm my worries!

It’s worth waiting! Everything will be okay! :)

I’m waiting for the NOA2 too and I’m really worried if everything will be okay - we did follow a really good guide, and added quite a lot of evidence and everything, but I’m overthinking that something might be missing. My fiancé’s mom is trying to calm me down and is saying that we did everything we could and there shouldn’t be an RFE 😄

Thank you both for the well wishes!!

To update my status for anyone interested/looking into theirs: I sent another PI Oct 23, then received our tracking number Oct 30. As of today (Oct 31), we just received the FTP from the NVC and our CEAC status has changed to "In Transit."
It's my understanding that the NVC only sends out the visa packets every two weeks (every other Tuesday), so if that's true then our case would actually be sent out November 4th. Curious to see what'll happen and I'll definitely update here if that seems to end up the case.

Best wishes for everyone who hasn't received their numbers yet, I'm sure it's coming!! Hope we all get our fiance's here very soon!!!

Sorry, what does PI mean? And when you can send it?

And how did you calculate that the NVC are sending out the visa packets every two weeks (Every other Tuesday)?

    thank you ☀️

  9. Hello!

Should my fiancé check “yes” although he doesn’t make enough money?  We’re going to have his Mom as a joint-sponsor.

Do you think/know he should check “yes”, and on the question 19 he could write that he’ll cover as much as he can, but overall the money coverings will be from his Mom?

Or do you think/know that he should check “no” and mention on the question 19 that he’ll cover as much as he can, but overall the money coverings will be from his Mom?

Someone said to just pick “yes”, but I want to double check.

I watched Yasmin & Suraj video and she didn’t mention the version of question 18 I got. She explained everything else and it was really informative and helpful!

I would really appreciate to hear your experience!

    vaccination records

    school diploma

school and / or college records

country ID if they have one so u can renew it when needed

u don't need a statement of non marriage

u can drive 1 year in PA (maybe not outside the state) on a foreign licence

what u need is to be on a auto insurance plan so its best to convert to PA state license ASAP

Auto insurance and the driver being covered is very important

    Birth certificate

    Police certificate

    Evidence of support

    Medical examination

    Marriage termination/divorce degrees

    There you go 😊

    Much appreciated! :)

Haha, yes, you never know - sometimes it's also good to be prepared with stuff that they don't even mention :D I'm just overthinking, hah

  12. Hello!

    A new day, a new question :D

I wanted to know what are your recommendations about what kind of documents, statements, apostilled documents should I take with me to the U.S.?

For safety reasons, I'm thinking to order a statement that I am not married that is translated in English (from a legit translation company) and get that document apostilled.

I know I will need to redo my drivers license in the U.S., but I was thinking to order a statement in English to at least show them that I have a drivers license from my country.

I'm thinking to order a certified copy of my birth certificate which is translated in English and Apostilled. I already have a translated and apostilled birth certificate.. would it be worth it to make a copy too? Or it would be just a waste of money?

What are your thoughts and  recommendations?

I really appreciate all of your previous answers to my questions before! It's really nice that VJ is such a big community that are willing to help each other. :)

    Hi!

Sorry for taking such a long time to write how it all went in Sweden etc. I've been so busy planning with my moving, but im finally here in the Usa, so happy to be here!

Whenever you have your interview date, book asap the medical since there is only 2 doctors that do that in Helsinki and usually they are pretty booked. I was able to get my medical 11 days before my interview, and they told me the results will take 2 weeks. Luckily my doctor was extremely nice and send my papers right away, so i was able to go pick them up, day before i left to Sweden! Also yes, you need to go pick the medical envelope from their office in Helsinki, they don't mail them. You need to have your vaccines up to date and have them printed with you. I had to take one booster and it was indeed quite expensive there.

I traveled to Sweden few days before my interview, and spend long weekend there. Embassy was very easy to find and everything went super quick there.

They first collected my papers and took finger prints, after that i waited and then i had my interview. Very basic questions, when we met, where, when he proposed etc.

And then they took my passport and told they will send my things in 2 weeks. All that took like 30 minutes 😅

They sended my passport and my envelope less than a week thru UPS.

If there is anything you want ask, i'll do my best to answer!😊

    Congratulations! :)

Would you mind writing down the documents they asked?

And would you mind pasting the list of the documents they asked you in the email/mail?

In sweden we don't really have birth certificates, so we get "person evidence" from our IRS instead so I brought an original of those to my interview. In hindsight from my own situation with having a copy of my fiances divorce decree and not a certified copy of that and now looking and maybe 2 months or longer delays because of it I would get certified copies of your BC just in case :D more as a "rather have a certified copy and not need it, instead of not having it certified but needing it" :)

Exactly! Better be safe than sorry! Noted, thank you a lot! :)
