Good evening to all of you my dear VJ friends!..... I was writing this I am really in deep pain because of the news I got from my family in the Philippines. We just arrived this afternoon from our vacation in my parents in-law in TN but got this emergency news .
When we arrived I got a message from my sisters and brothers in the Philippines that my mom was in ICU right now. She was riding in the tricycle going home from the market when a jeepney hit the tricycle she was riding. She was rushed to the municipal hospital in our town but her condition was worse and the hospital can`t accomdate that kind of case. So she was rushed to the hospital in the city where have good equipment .My mom`s brain was broken and totally comatose for 3 days now according to my family in the philippines. She need to be operated but we can`t afford the expenses right now even my husband can`t help me raised that amount because it so expensive. Aside from that my sister told me that the Neuro Surgeon from the hospital from Mother Seton Hospital in Naga city(Bicol) , where my mom now. They can`t guarrantee that even my mom undergo operation it was a 50/50 chance she can survived. She is just surviving now for the medicine in the ICU,and for the tube and respirator. That was so expensive everyday we need to have 15k for her medicine. I don`t know what to do right now. I can`t sleep and I am just praying that everything will turn to miracles and my mom can survive. I was so terribly sad and worried about this news.
I am just 4 months here in USA, and I really dont know what to do to help my mom financially. I don`t have job to help my mom survived, and I wish I really can. I am just keeping my faith and trying to be strong here with my husband.
Please I need your prayers for my mom.....! I don`t wanna lose my mom, I can`t accept it! ....I am so sorry! I just can`t help it but to vent and share to relieved my pain right now!
Hoping and praying for the best!
Thank you so much and God bless!
Love,
Netscot
Condolence.. My prayers is for you both.
You should be able to go home with no problem..

Lets share tips and experiences to help and support each other. I'm 14 weeks pregnant now, and I'm so glad that I havent had any morning sickness. But once in a while I experienced sudden mood swings from being happy to being so sad. I don't know why but I believed its a part of being pregnant. There is also a feeling of anxiety once in a while. Worrying, wondering, hoping and praying that everything go smoothly. I believe that it's nice to talk or heard from someone who is in the same boat as you. So to all pregnant mommies if your comfortable to share your experiences and if you have questions feel free to hop in this thread.
Soon to be mommy,
Evelyn
Hi Evelyn,
The only thing that pregmant can do right now is to relax and not to worry about everything.. Thinking so much sometimes affect pregnancy.. Yes, it is natural to have anxiety in the first pregnancy but you know God is always there for us.. As long as you know you are healthy, having a good diet, you are taking care of yourself. your baby is fine..
When I was pregnant, I was vomiting every morning till the last semester of my pregnancy. I preferred to vomit every morning as it lightened my head and clear up my stomach.. Once I vomit, I feel better and go to work.. My work hours is 14 hours a day, so it was tough. I dont have enough sleep due to frequent urination. I broke my water when I was in the 8 mos of pregnancy, but did not have contraction. The doctor had to induce me, after being in the hospital for 14hours without contractions. My youngest one was born premature, but he is healthy, almost 8lbs..he did not need to go to incubator as he is fully developed. Try to do walking every morning this will help..
My son is 3 months old now, time goes fast..
Goodluck to all the pregnant mommies out there!

The OP is just asking question in a nice way.. so just give her the answer she needs..
By the way, Philippines is not the only coutries that has beggars and beg for money.. Unfortunate people are everywhere, even in the United States...
Kuwait,, as far as I know is the only countries that does not have beggars, if you seen one, it is an expat or bedouins.

My wife misses her job, misses her friends, misses her country.... It takes so long before she can work here, to get work permit. Sigh...
Hi.
Based on your post you did everything you can to help your wife get adjusted in the US..
She should have known all the consequences before leaving the Philippines.
Just give her time to adjust . Home sick is just in the mind set.

I found out that my citizenship interview was scheduled on 6/10 and I was told the letter was sent out on 4/27, but I haven't received that yet. So I am sure the notice letter got lost in the mail. Now I was told that I could make an appointment with the local office and have them reprint the letter or I caon 6/10.n reschedule the interview. I am currently traveling with my husband due to his job. So I would like to know the possibilities of still making to the interview
Can someone tell me that if the notice letter can be printed out right away or I will still need to wait for them to send me?
Does anyone have this experience??
Any advice is appreciated.
notice letter should come on the mail within 3 weeks... sometimes it varies..

Even we both work, I still let him know and if it is okay with him for me to buy something.. It is nothing for him he doesnt mind me buying stuff, but i feel that it is just a matter of respect, since when we got married, we combined our finances, its not my money, its not his money, it is our money... It took me a while to finally think that it is our money, but when the kids came to our life, it changes everything.. We separate wants and need.. we talk first before spending..
Marriage is much of a compromise and communication.. it is like a job...you have to make sure that everything is working right.. Yes no one is perfect, all of us has flaws, but what matter is the respect you can give to each other.

if they withdraw the US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, there is also a lot of US civilian that will lose their job.

It sounds like your husband thinks that threatening to take his love away from you will solve whatever problem he sees as an issue in the relationship.. I thought of that old saying, "be careful what you ask for."
-
if you like bed bugs, cockroaches and ants, yes you can eat in the bed..
threatening you for divorce hmmm.. thats not a good joke.. if he is joking or just preventing you from doing what he doesn't like.

My wife removed her conditions of status and received her permanent residents card back in October 2008. Anyhow, our son was born here in SF, therefore he is a US citizen. I am also a US Citizen. With that said, I plan on studying abroad for a few years and of course the whole family is relocating temporarily with me. What precautions should we take to ensure that my wife doesn't get singled out for abandonment of the country. We worked so hard to get her permanent residents card and don't want to jeopardize her status whatsoever, as we do plan on returning when I get my degree. Does anyone have any suggestions on doing this the correct way so there are no hassles upon returning. Thanks for the tips!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if your removed conditions last Oct, then this Oct should be the 3 year mark for your wife to apply for citizenship. Why not get that before you leave the US, then she is good for life.
Thanks for your suggestion (a great one by the way), however, we are leaving the country for a while to take care of some personal issues as well and have to leave in June. Do you have any idea whether or not we can apply for citizenship when we're out of the country? Thanks again.
She needs to come in the US every year (approximately 11 months) to meet the requirement as Permanent Resident.
In my case, I was just a conditional resident for 1 year, since we are both working overseas I did research about getting naturalized overseas.. I found out that I can apply for naturalization without permanently residing in the based under Article 319b of Immigration nationality act. Provided that you are working for a US company, private or federal jobs, and your wife is accompanying with you overseas. Now, I am done with the process.
Try to research forum regarding 319b in visa journey.

Hey everyone, kumusta po kayo? I haven't properly introduced myself before, My name is Christopher. I've been reading here and there, and learning what I can from those of you with so much experience in the world of immigration.
My sweet baby aka Martheena0909 has her interview today and I'm a nervous wreck! She's been really great about ensuring all the documents are in order, even after a few minor mistakes, and some conflicting information from various sources.
I've been relatively quiet leading up to this day, but now I'm a mess! LOL. She'll be at the Embassy in just a couple of hours, then I have to wait for her to get back to her phone to call me with the news. I've never felt so helpless once she got all the I-134 docs as pretty much all my work was done, other than to try to support her in her efforts to finalize all the docs, and arrange them so that the CO would have an easy time with them. (Admittedly I did a poor job of that!) Well, with any luck, I'll be able to travel in a couple of weeks, to spend some time with the family before we both come home to the states!
Keep us in your thoughts! It's been a long journey, but today will hopefully be the end of one road and the beginning of another!
And thank you all for your inspiration and willingness to share your experiences!
Christopher
She will be fine. if her documentation is right and complete.

be patient, waiting will be worthwhile when it is done.

You know in a third world country like that, even in my country, you are already a criminal before you are proven guilty. sad huh?

There is a recruitment agencies in Manila that hires teachers for US. Some of my classmates in college is now teaching in the USA.

The answer is much the same as other threads , Are you willing to give up the second citizenship if asked and are your skills unique enough to make it workth an extra 150000 to get you the clearence ? If you already have history with the company maybe. If you are looking for a job that requires the clearance as a condition of working almost never.
Thank you for your sarcastic answer..
Well, the answer is, she's been working for the company for five years.
-
Can you get approved for security clearance if you are a dual citizen, especially i.e filipino-american.
