    There is another option:

    Uganda

    -OR-

    2. Submit a written request to the Director of Interpol, located at Plot 12 Mabua Road Kololo, PO BOX 43003, Kampala.  The request must contain an explanation as to the need for the certificate, photocopies of the biodata pages of the passport for non-citizens and National ID for citizens, and fingerprints must be taken from Interpol Kololo. Processing time is approximately two (2) weeks.

Certified Copies: There are no certified copies

Alternate Documents: There are no alternate documents.

    Exceptions: There are no exceptions.

Comments: Although Certificates of Good Conduct are valid for only 6 months according to Interpol, they are valid for two years for U.S. immigrant visa purposes.

What does that mean "fingerprints must be taken from Interpol Kololo" interpol Kololo is in Uganda. My fiancé is not able to go to Uganda. In the website, both options are saying fingerprints in Uganda. Is there a way for him to do it Ghana and send it to Uganda? I asked my fiance to contact the Ghana embassy in Uganda for help also.

    Thank you

  2. My fiancé is from Ghana and lives in Ghana. He was able to get his Ghana Police Certificate. He lived in Uganda for more than 6 months 20 years ago. He needs a Police certificate from Uganda. How can he get one without going to Uganda. I researched online, it says there is an online application, but then you have to come to Uganda in person to do the fingerprint. He can't go in person to Uganda. Is there a way to do it Ghana?

So the more I investigate, the more I found conflicting information.  Some suggest it's best to wait, some indicate K1 approved petitions just schedule their own interview.  I went ahead and set everything up for my fiance and we're booked for February 24th.  I was able to locate her approved medical exam location and convinced her to schedule it herself.  Follow the links above to locate the embassy information for the country you need. If you look at the wording it's tricky.  It says, in bold red, you must schedule your own medical exam WHEN you get your appointment date, three weeks ahead.  Well, if you go to the embassy website and pay the appointment fee, you can get your appointment date, violà... You're moving on ... Book the medical

Surprisingly everything is going smooth for now, fingers crossed.  She has all her documents now, her medical exam requires x8 photos.  I sent her a fed ex package with the I 134, tax information, photos, extra copies of the appointment letter, copies of exam appointment, our approved NOA2 copy, fresh letter of intent to marry and some pictures of us on vacation for evidence.

My first responses of being patient, I was under the impression it wasn't possible to proceed unless I had the welcome letter but it seems it's possible if you're detailed, read everything and follow the steps.

You'll have to create an account on a third party website to pay and schedule the interview because it's now in their country and they need to get paid separate from USA.  Register, use your email.  I tried with my fiancé email and she never got the registration verification email.  When I used mine, I go it asap.  Pay the fee and schedule.  Fiancé will need to bring the print page to her interview appointment for proof of payment.  Fiance needs to brings ds160 and everything else to appointment.  Use the links above, each country has different instructions.  Best regards

Thank you very much!! Your fiance will do great at the interview!

You'll receive an email roughly the same time your beneficiary is contacted.  My fiancé is from Côte d'ivoire and she has a local post office that calls her when she receives mail and then she goes and picks it up.  Not exactly she about Ghana.  The DS-160 can be filled out from the CEAC website with only your case number.  Just be careful because it's only valid for 60 days and there's no way to recover a lost account.  So save often and remember you security question.

Each embassy is different.  I've heard that some consulate want you to wait for the welcome letter with clear instructions on how to proceed and won't appreciate you jumping ahead without instructions.  Some jump right in and fill out ds160 and schedule an interview and medical examination.  You've made it this far, continue to be patient and follow instructions.  Check the "NVC Timeframe" website.  They are creating case for applications received the 27th of December today.  With the holidays, I'm going to forget about the last week or December and first week of January and start counting after them.  You can always send in a public inquiry to the NVC asking what to do next as each petition has an expiration date.  My fiancé read forums from Côte d'ivoire and everyone said wait for the welcome letter.

Processing should be prompt from here on out so don't mess it up being impatient

Thank you very much! You are right, we've made it this far. So I will be patient.
