Jamericanlove got a reaction from Asia in Filing n-400 for me and my children
Because your children are over the age of 18 they are respnsible for meeting the requirements for citizenship on their own and will each have to file the N400 and pay individual fees. You still list all of them on your form. All the best for your citizenship journey!

Thank you walshy and Jamericanlove! We're back from Portland and done with the oath ceremony. It all went well.
Here's a summary of our experience for the oath ceremony at the Portland immigration office.
We left Eugene just after 11:00 AM and arrived in Portland around 1:00 PM. This time we parked right in front of the immigration office on NW Overton St. and paid for the maximum 3 hours of parking which was $4.80. Then we went inside and presented our letter to security for the oath ceremony and security checked us through. We proceeded to the second floor to sit in the waiting area. We checked in at the reception desk #4 just encase and they looked over the paperwork and said we had to fill out the questions and sign and date the form for the oath ceremony and then wait until someone comes to get us around 1:30 PM.
In the waiting room it became very crowded. This time we waited closer to the stairs instead of in the back of the room. A woman came out and asked for our attention around 1:20 PM and instructed everyone who was doing the oath ceremony today to please fill out their forums by answering the questions and putting Portland, Oregon and sign and date it. She told us there was a very large group today taking the oath and she would be back around 1:40 PM with further instructions. Then she came back at 1:40 PM and asked for everyone's attention again. She stood in the middle of the room and asked the people having the oath ceremony today to please follow her, along with any of their interpreters, and for the rest of the friends and family to please keep waiting in the waiting room upstairs until they're called overhead to join them. She told those naturalizing to have their papers ready and their green cards out because they will be turning them in today. Then a huge group of people got up and followed her downstairs and most of the room cleared out. There wasn't as many friends and family left behind.
Around 2:15 PM came the announcement over head for friends and family to please come downstairs and join the rest of them for the oath ceremony. The room was packed with just a few chairs on the other side of the room for people to sit down and the rest were standing. We were told the ceremony lasts around an hour if everything goes smoothly and depending on the size of the group. They said to please take as many pictures as we wanted. My digital camera wasn't working well but I did get some on my cell phone.
Everyone was sitting in rows of chairs. We were told that there were over 50 people taking the oath today from 26 countries. Then they had each person stand up when their name was called and announce what country they were from. There were people from all over the world. Then they played a short video with historical pictures and locations of the United States. Then they gave another speech welcoming them and explained what it means to be an American and take the oath. Then they were asked to raise their right hand and take the oath. After that there was a video of President Barak Obama welcoming them to America as new citizens. Then they were asked to sing the national anthem and the words were projected on the screen. Then came a music video "I'm Proud to Be an American" with pictures of patriotic shots throughout. After that a boy was called to the stage to lead the pledge of allegiance. His parents and other relatives were all becoming citizens today and he was proud of them. Then we all said the pledge of allegiance. Then another speech and they directed every citizen to stand when they called their name. As they stood they were presented with their naturalization certificate and an American Flag and shook hands.
They told us to keep our naturalization certificates safe because it costs around $600 to replace them. After that came the people in matching yellow shirts giving their announcement on the civic duty of voting and they passed out pens and voter registration cards. Then it was over and everyone was allowed to take pictures on the stage in front of the flags or with anyone there. We were done by 3:00 PM sharp. Afterwards we went outside and took pictures in front of the immigration sign on the building and then we went downtown in the Pearl District and walked around and ate a small celebration meal before heading back to Eugene. Portland is really beautiful and they're already getting set up with Christmas decorations downtown. Also on the drive home we saw many shopping places already set up with Christmas lights.
We're very thankful for this day to come and to finally have the immigration journey behind us for good!
Sending our congratulations and best wishes to everyone before us that became citizens, and to everyone after us who have upcoming interviews and oath ceremonies!
Happy Thanksgiving!! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! AND Happy Holidays!

Jamericanlove got a reaction from user19000 in I-751 waiver and ex wife threatening me
I'm sorry this is happening to you. I think the only way your ex could do something is if she has proof that you were trying to commit fraud with your marriage. The USCIS won't just take her word for it. I imagine there are thousands of USC's who try to get back at their ex's by filing false reports, just as there are thousands of immigrants who file false VAWA against USC's. Either way, there is only a result if there is solid evidence to support the accusations.
I agree you should stop speaking to her and try to move on with your life. Put together whatever you have and include an explaination letter to send with your application stating the important things you have said here. Include a copy of your mother's death certificate and your travel logs to support the fact that you went to be with her and tie up loose ends after her passing. Just tell the truth and you will be ok.
All the best to you for the future.

Sorry this happened to you. If I were in your shoes I would file with a waiver even if I didn't get divorced right away (not sure if that is possible). If you DO want to get divorced for sure because of this it's best you do it now.
It will be very hard to explain why your wife had a child with someone else while she was supposed to be married to you. Sticking around might make it seem as though you are just staying for the 10 year card (which you can get by yourself if needs be). On the other hand, if you two want to work things out and truly love each other, find out if you can still file the waiver and explain that you are still married but things are uncertain now because of your wife's affair. It might help if she wrote a letter to the USCIS explaining the situation and that you guys want to try to make things work dispite her mistake.
All the best in whatever you do.

The letter says "all action on your form N-400 has been terminated". That means your request for withdrawal was successful. If you want to become a citizisen later on you must refile with a new N-400.

    I think I understand the OP's plight.....
    1. Married - April 2009
    2. AOS interview - April 20, 2010
    3. Conditional Card - Recieved in January 2011 but dated April 20, 2010 - April 20, 2012
    4. Applied to remove conditions in January 2012 (approved without mistake being noticed)
    5. Applied for citizenship Jun 2013
    6. Interview Spetember 2013 - Denied for incorrect filing dates
It seems the original conditional card was dated April 20, 2010 when it should have been dated for sometime in January 2011 (what is written in her file as the true approval date). Because of this mistake which the OP would have no way of knowing occured, everything was subsequently done 9 months ahead of when it should have really happened.
This situation really is unfair. If you do have to go through the whole process again I would recommend that you apply for every fee waiver possible so you don't have to pay all over again for what may be unavoidable, but is not your fault. Beyond that I'm not sure what kind of advice to give. I'm so sorry you are going through this and I hope everything works out in your favor.

I agree. Anyone who does not receive their interview letter within a few weeks after the NOA1 should definitely contact USCIS and inquire about their case. That is not normal and probably means that the letter was lost in the mail.

Usually the interview is scheduled for 5 weeks after the letter is sent out. If they told you your letter was sent out 2 and a half months ago that means your interview date was most likely over a month ago. Could the letter have been lost in the mail?
Someone recently missed their biometrics appointment because the letter never came to them. They called USCIS and were told it was sent out and they had missed the appointment several weeks before. They had one rescheduled but it has delayed their processing for well over a month.
It is very strange that the officer only told you what they did and left it at that. They would be the best persons to direct you in the next steps to take. I would try to see if I could get another interview scheduled or ask them to check if another has been scheduled already since they probably have you in the system as a no show for the first appointment if indeed a letter was sent out.

Ok. If no letter was sent out yet your case very well could have slipped into a dark corner and been overlooked. A call to your congressman office should get the ball rolling again quickly. If they did lose it, that should prompt them to find it, dust it off and schedule your interview.
