Good luck for your interview tomorrow Nimaan! I can't wait to read about your experience.
-
She is having the interview on 9/18. Question:
The questions, do you answer them orally, or you must write out the answers?
You didn't ask me, but from what I've seen you answer everything orally except for one sentence which they ask you to write.
-
No he did not say, he just said that I have to go back. I introduced him to my principal who needed to give me the time off of work.
This is strange indeed. You would think they'd give you something official to say come back like a letter or at the very least let you know what the reason is. The good news is that Friday is only a few days away, so hopefully they sort everything out and you have your oath taking then.
-
I went right from my interview back to my school for Open House. Guess who strolls into my classroom?
The IO who did my interview.
I have to go back on Friday!
Now THAT is strange...I think this is the first time I've heard of an IO popping up at someone's place of work a few hours after the interview. Did they by any chance say why you have to go back on Friday? Second interview? Oath ceremony? Very odd.
-
I thought the interview went well, the man's son actually attends the school I teach at.
No indication, no extra large file, no reason I can think of.
He did have me verify the spelling of my name for the certificate
Ok, well I have no idea why either. Perhaps a supervisor need to give it a once over for quality control. From the sound of it you'll be getting your decision and oath letter soon. Try not to worry.
Thanks for well wishes my fellow filers :-)
Getting ready for oath ceremony; video camera- check
Full battery with spare - check
New outfit - check
Notice- check
GC - check
Wish the 25th was tomorrow!!
You're almost there....only 2 weeks to go!
-
"A decision cannot be made at this time"
Reason to freak out?!?!?!
Did they give any reason or did you ask why? Was your file very big? I've read that sometimes if it's a lot of papers they might want to look it over before final approval.
I wouldn't get too concerned. Once you don't have anything wrong you'll get your oath letter eventually. How did the interview go otherwise?
-
Congrats homesweethome!

Congrats! Hope you are scheduled for Oath taking soon.
-
Congrats Azure and Vanessa!
Good luck on your interview today Canadian_Wife!

PASSED THE TEST!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats!!

Received a text today that I am scheduled for interview, so just got to wait for the letter, at last things are moving. Must admit I am excited.
Yay nightingale! Told you so!
-
Good luck! I know you're going to be awesome!

I'm going to go ahead and send in the 4506-Ts in for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 (the missing years since she got her GC).
How detail does USCIS go over the transcripts? Is it a line item review--question each and every deduction and schedule, that sort-- or simply a quick once over to verify residency, joint filing, and that you've been filing?
It's hard to say and mostly depends on the IO you get. Bring what you can get your hands on and be prepared for anything.
-
They can only go back 4 years on transcripts, is what I was told.
Edit: Looks I might be able to us form 4506-T to get the transcripts.
I was about to suggest that. You can also request your account transcripts which I understand are available for the previous 10 years. Otherwise just stick with the 3 year option and stand behind your evidence......or, go with the 5 year option, bring the extra transcript you have with you to the interview and explain why the 5th one is missing. I think the USCIS is more understanding than most give them credit for, as long as you explain you situation concisely and clearly.
Either way it will all work out.

She's a pretty good match. Not my dream girl, but... maybe my dreams are just unrealistic. We jumped straight into marriage without a significant amount of time dating .There are trust issues. There is uncertainty. There is a huge financial responsibility. There is a lack of a need to be married.
So... why? Why am I doing this?
This said it all really.
You're right....why are you doing this?
Sounds like your best bet is to file divorce, withdraw from the process and move on with your life. This is no way to begin forever. Do both of you a favour and end it before you get in too deep and it ends very badly.
All the best to you.
-
Thanks, That's what i thought. i was just chocked that they set up interview right after fingerprint, last then a week.super fast, i will check if there is anyway for me to get my Oath ceremony on the same week. I work for the government overseas and can't stay out of work for too long.
I'm sure if you make that request they'll try and accomodate you. Doesn't hurt to try. All the best to you!
-
Problem with that is we only sent in three year of tax transcripts only only have 4 total, or would she not need 5 years worth of returns? We lost a bunch of paperwork when our storage unit got wet.
Go to your local IRS office and request the ones you're missing. Will take 10-15 minutes tops. Bring them along with you to the interview.
-
How far long they schedule your interview after you receive the letter? Do they give you 30 days from the letter notice at least?
08-29-2013 - Fingerprints taken
09-03-2013 - in line for interview
09-06-2013 - Interview letter sent
I was just wondering because i'm overseas and i would like to have sometime to study and purchase tickets to US.
Usually 3-5 weeks from what I've seen. I'd start making plans now. You'll probably be having your interview sometime between the 2nd and 3rd week in October. Congrats!
-
We thought she had to, so we filed under the marriage to USC. We basically ticked the box that seemed the most specific to us. If we get denied or have to refile, now we know. But the best outcome is to get through our original filing.
What you have sounds like enough...especially after 11 years of marriage. I've seen on here that sometimes the IO will cross out the 3 years and do the application based on 5 years at the interview if eligable to make everything easier. I wouldn't be surprised if that happens in your wife's case as well. Either way I'm pretty sure you're ok.

Nebraska moves fast....That lockbox is for expedited cases.

I sent my application but I just came across a post here asking if we should mention the traffic violation on question 16 in n400 form. I got a traffic violation, it was a very minor traffic violation (not DUI or anything serious), I just missed 1 one of my front lights and the case was dismissed after I got it fixed (it's just like a "fix it" ticket). I didn't mention it on the application. I checked "No" on the question 16. I am confused now if I should've mentioned it. Will that be a problem later ? should I fix it now ?
I agree with newlywed. At the time of your interview the interviewing officer goes through the application line by line to confirm everything you put down, and make updates for anything that has changed. When they get to that part just mention the ticket and all should be fine.
-
I don't think you'll get denied either. The reality is that USCIS is a very regimented organization so any time soemthing happens that moves away from the "normal" flow of things it has a tendency to get put to the side until someone gets around to it. That's why so many advise not to miss, change or reschedule appointments if at all possible, as you could end up waiting months for an update.
I think your file is just sitting somewhere being overlooked and gathering dust. Someone will get around to reviewing the info you sent it and finally complete the case. Get in touch with your congressman and they can contact the USCIS to help you get things moving again if you don't want to wait any longer that you already have.
Hope you hear something soon.
-
Congrats BRB! I hope to see those interview slots filling up fast in the coming weeks!

I told Tony about you getting it yesterday, and he asked me if I could called. I told him I was hoping the USCIS site was being stupid and they'd already mailed it so I'll give it till Monday
BUT
Today at 1:46pm I got a text msg saying my case had been updated
And an email at 2:01pm saying they've sent my Oath letter
Thinking we might have the same ceremony!
Congrats to you and Azure! I've been watching this thread. I hope you guys are scheduled for the ceremony on the 17th. It's still early enough for you to make it.

Hypnos is being sarcastic.
I think the answer you're going to get from anybody who replies to this thread is the same one I'm going to give you now. Your letter was just mailed...wait a few more days and you'll know exactly when your oath date is. Guessing at this point isn't really necessary and won't really predict the date in the letter.
