The I-130 is the form that requires burden of proof to show it is a bona fide relationship. As it is already approved, I wouldn't worry anymore. If he had a doubt, he would have asked to see more proofs.

You are approved, it is just a formality for them to have their supervisors review their cases, it seems.

Hmmm...there was a touch today on the case..but the message is the same "received & pending"

Does that mean they haven't requested production of card yet? Am I too excited and expecting it too soon???

Yes...it was super fast... we waited for ever! GOt there 20 min earlier and they took us 25 after the scheduled time...

Took the oath..basic questions (When did u meet? When did u get married?Do you know eachothers parents? What proofs did you bring-didn't even check them-)

Explained to me what a COND. GREEN CARD is and then told me that starting today I am a permanent Resident and it will take aprox 10 days to receive the acctual card. Explained that the EAD is no longer valid but I can keep it

All the emotions became tears of joy!

I check the uscis website today and i found this message after i got the welcome letter 2 days ago :

On October 29, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

So i got a little confusion, what the difference between the welcome notice and the approval notice?

Usually they say to check the timelines for your local office..and if you are out of the processing times to call them...but I remember this even from last year when my husband filed for citizenship, that if it's been more than 90 days since the last notice (no matter what you filed for) they will look into it

Thanks!!! My I130 and I485 was last touched last july 4 i think probably bec. Of the biometrics.it still says case received jun 9,still pending and its at the national benefits center. The ead on the other hand still says card production ordered but i already got my ead, i guess they never update it. Do they inform u somehow if they transfer the case to the local office for interview? one more thing, (i do hve a lot a questions huh? Hehe) we just moved in to our first ever apt ( im just really excited) should i submit a change of address? the previous address was to my inlaws.. Or not?

I think you should call them and ask for a change of address..when calling them to do the up date on your case, you will be able to talk to an operator and see what is going on with your case as well...The fact that your previous address is with your inlaws is ok because you know you will get your letters if they are delivered over there, but on the other hand you want to make sure you are doing everything by the book and have the new address added to your file. You don't want to give them any reason to doubt your actions.

Yay, we were approved at our interview today! We got a really nice AO, she was professional but still friendly. I didn't have my actual birth certificate (I guess the mail system ate it, even though it was registered mail) and she was disappointed, but said she would work around it for now. We wrongly assumed that any approval would be pending her seeing it. She just asked us for documents from the list on the letter and for evidence of our marriage. We probably have less than some people, but it seemed ok. She seemed particularly pleased with a mother's day card from my stepson and a two page hand-written affidavit from Jon's best friend. She looked through our photo album/scrapbook but didn't keep anything or ask many questions. After asking the standard 'have you been arrested' type questions from the form, she took my passport, found a blank page and stamped the 1-551 stamp. She never actually said 'you are approved', just went on to explain how she had ordered production of the card. It was a quick and pretty painless experience! If you'd like to know more, I am posting a separate thread in the 'AOS from work/student/tourist' section.

I got my I485 noa the second week of october and I havent received the biometrics appointment letter yet, is anyone in my same situation? I am afraid that the letter will came too late or something. I am trying to call the uscis costumer service but when it says to insert the receipt number i cant go thru because the first 3 caracter are letters and I can´t dial that with the phone, there is another option to contact the uscis costumer service? In case that i get the letter and the appointment date already pass, how can I fix that problem? anyone had that experience before? thank you!

You are suppose to press the key corresponding to the letter

EXAMPLE: 1=A, B, C 2= D, E, F 7=P, Q, R, S etc

so if your case id number starts with MSC you would dial 671

I just had my interview this afternoon, it went well, the manager said they will just call me next week.

We are plenty, like 11-14, not sure... I don't know if I will get it,, it seems I am the only one who doesn't have hotel experienced, i guess..

I finally got my EAD.. and also I got two touches on my AOS this week, one yesterday and one today. In total I got 6 touches on my AOS but my online status has not changed yet. I do not know what is going on.

Congrats to everyone recently getting their EAD/GC and good luck job hunting! We have our interview next week, I am still stuck at home as I have to do exams to be able to work in my profession here, so am studying full time for the next exam in early December. We're really hoping we'll get an answer at the interview and be done with the process for a while!
