  1. It is more than common for the case status not to be available on line..if you read this forum you'll fing hundreds of cases like yours...sometimes it doesn't show up until after the biometrics..sometimes it won't show up at all

USCIS is not the best at the online updates... for example my husband's naturalization case was filed in august 07 and finalized in June 08...his status was not available for 3 months and since then it's the same "case received and pending" even though it was apporved and done with it

Don't panic..try to call the automated service or wait until the biometrics and try again :)

  2. Hi folks,

I thought I should chime in and provide an update.. i've been checking (lurking actually ;-) this forum from time to time and like everybody else, i've filed my AOS June of this year. After my biometrics (July 24th), i haven't heard a squat from USCIS although I see a couple touches online on my case. But other than that, nothing. Well today, what a pleasant suprise when I see a letter from USCIS and when I opened it, it's a request for me to come over to the local USCIS office for an interview! It's dated Dec 09 so it's still a few weeks but i'm excited to hear something from them at last. I hope everything goes well for the interview but what a sigh of relief.

So for my fellow June filers, hang in there and be patient. I'm pretty sure you'll hear something from USCIS soon, they're just not so good as far as communication goes... Thanks to y'all and best wishes. I'll provide another update after my interview...

CONGRTAULATIONS!!! It's always time to celebrate when you get such news :)... I noticed that this is the way they do it, notifying about the interview like 1 month before ;)

  3. the2ofus:

Hope you'll get your GC pretty soon. Congrats

    Thanks ;)

Hi VISAO! long time no see...how's going? how have u been? how is the green card? hehe :star:

 I'm still here. I've been looking for work but no luck, no one is calling me. The temp agents are slow too - they dont have any job orders Some of the job fairs - peeps just show up at their booths without having job openings??? Crazy time w/ the economy :wacko: Is depressing staying home with no incoming $ but I'm still here checking out this forum now and then

Oh ja..I know what you'r saying about the economy... I am happy every day when I see that the gas price goes down...but can't help the groceries bill going up :( Have you noticed that some products are the same price but they reduce the weight in the package? bastards!!!

Well...anyway...good luck w/ your job hunt! Take care ;)

  4. Hey guys, you won't believe what happened!

I was driving to target to my interview and my the highway exit I was supposed to take was closed, I had some good extra minutes since I left earlier but it wasn't enough, I had to go back all the way and got there about 9 minutes late, they told me they couldn't interview me because the interviews were from 30 to 30 minutes and I wouldn't have enough time....

I'm so frustrated, I know it wasn't my or anyone's fault but when I finally get a job interview appointment, that happens...They said I could call again and TRY to reschedule it, but I feel so ashamed, I don't know if I will or not, what do you think?

Just updating you guys on the news, thanks for wishing me luck!

I would try again..I know what you mean about feeling ashamed but it can happen to anyone..as you said!

They are desperate to get people in for the holiday seson so I am sure they will give you another chance!!!!

    Try again ;) Good luck

  5. hi guys, i finally got a job interview!!!!!!!I'm so excited, please cross ur fingers for me i'm tired of sitting at home, the interview is for target(i know, bleh) but it's temporary seasonal work and would give me experience to get other jobs. Please please please keep me in ur mind i need to make some money, i feel useless!!!!

I'll come back tomorrow and let you know how it went!

    Good luck!!!

Don't think at Traget as a bad place to work...first of all you;ll get experience with money and after 6 months you can easily apply to work as a bank teller :) That is all you need...cash handling experience!!

Btw..I bet your house is sparkling clean..so you're not useless at all :)) :star:

  6. Congratulations again!! Yes, as soon as you receive the welcome letter, it's like one big step ahead toward the Green Card, so you will be receiving the it *realllll soonnnnn", like days~~

So how was your interview? Can you share a bit of your experience?? Did you bring anything special to the interview? Mine is scheduled to be 12/11/08, I'm so nervous......

    Regards,

    Emily

    Hi Emily,

The interview was pretty smooth...we got there 20 min before the scheduled time and the IO took us in 25 min after the scheduled time..so for about 45 min we were trying to talk anything so our mind doesn't go crazy...we were able to observe other couples being called in- some separate, and some togheter- most of them were done in 15 min...but the ones that were taken separately they were held inside about 20-25min and then their spouse was called in...when they called us inside we didnt know if we should go together or not but the IO said that both of us should get in her office

The questions were not addressed directly to me or to my hubby..she was just doing it for the sake of it..so she couldn't say later that she hasn't done it...questions were "when did you meet? when did you get married? do you know eachother's parents? what did you bring in to prove that you have a bona fide marriage..." she didnt even look at the documents we brought in...she just congratulated us on being organized...she took my passport and removed the I-94 and then stamped some paperwork she had there...and that was it..it took 6 minutes to tell us that we were approved for conditional residency and then she asked if we have any questions..I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked down at my watch... I just thought that because of the fact that I was so nervous the time flew ...but no..that;s all it took ...

My opinion is that they can tell from the paperwork you submit and from the evidence you submit when you file, if your marriage is for real or not..our IO was kind and cute while the other ones that were taking people separately looked really intimidating... oooo what I;ve noticed was the security cameras in the lobby..I wonder if they observe the couples and their behaviour while waiting for their interview.....maybe...who knows? just a thought :D

So there is nothing to worry about..as long as your marriage is for real...it souns like a cliche...but it's the truth !!!! We were nervous as well...it's just weird trying to explain to a perfect stranger the authenticity of your feelings...but they can feel you :) they are trained for this and they've seen enough real marraiges and enough fake ones to be able to differentiate them!

Best of luck and can't wait to read the good news when you post it after your interview!!!!

aaaa....we took the usual stuff: rental agreement, car/renters insurance on both of our names, telephone bills showing that we talk to eachother, photos, bank statements for our joint account, hubby's paystubs for the last 2 months, and the original of all the paperwork we first submitted

It's a bit late butttttt... CONGRATSSS the2ofus! I can't wait to buy the plane tickets and pack our bag to go home!!!! There's another wedding celebration waiting for us there! (apart from I miss my family like crazy and can't wait to eat local food)

Thank you :) I know...it's hard to miss your family...I have a niece that is almost 5 and never met her :(

the food...yummy...I am going to gain 20 lbs in 3 weeks!!!!!

So you'll have 2 weddings? COOL!

  8. We had our interview today, it lasted 30-40 min. The wait was the worst, we got there 45 min before our appointment time and had to wait 90 min for my name to be called.

Our officer was very nice; he made us feel very comfortable. He asked my husband (USC) most of the questions, like: when did we get married and then how we met (he had to tell him the whole story of our relationship), my birthday, do we have children, where did we get married, where the reception was held, who lives in our house. He asked me some of the questions from I-485 (if I ever voted – he asked me that twice, left the country, was a communist, just the standard questions). Then he asked if we had any documents showing that we lived together, we showed him our lease, bank statements, credit card, car and rental insurance, phone family plan etc. He also asked if we had any pictures, we gave him 2 photo albums; he chose about 10 pictures of us (most of them with other people) and attached to our file.

He left the room for a minute to copy our IDs, passport and some other stuff, then said that he will recommend our application for approval, but the final decision will be made by his supervisor and I should get my card within a month. He also explained removal of condition after 2 years.

He never asked for my EAD, didn’t take I-94 from my passport, never asked for any info about my husband’s job.

    Now the waiting continues… :clock:

OMG! From what you're saying over here it means that it all went well!:dance::dance:

Check your status online about 9:01 pm tonight to see the changes in status to "card production ordered";)

  9. Received interview letter in the mail on Wednesday set for Dec 17th. We were transferred to CSC but still got sent for an interview so I guess not everyone who is transferred gets a greencard without an interview. Also, no email about the interview, just a letter in the mail.

    CONGRATS to you as well!!!!

It seems that they choose and pick when it comes to transferring and interviewing...there is no sure thing with them

  10. Hi guys!!

Just wanted to share good news!!! We received our IL!!!!!! :D The Interview is scheduled for Dec 9th, in Mount Laurel, NJ. I wasn`t expecting it any time soon, since we just got my EAD (after 142 days!!!!) and it looked like our case is not moving forward  Also, I had no touch since my RFE (September 15) . All of the sudden we got IL in mail. :energy: No online update or e-mail was sent to us with updates. I`m pretty sure that Infopass we had on Oct 27th, had a lot to do with it!!!!

I believe we all are going to "be taking care of" soon!!!! To all of you , who are still waiting for EAD/IL -> head up!!! It will come to you soon!!!!!:star:

OMG!!!! That is great news!!!! CONGRATS!!:dance::dance:

  11. Congrats again

We were told it could take 3 months (and the IO stamped my passport, as if she really expected such a delay), but the card came in about 10 days. If you don't get it soon, maybe you could schedule an infopass and ask them to stamp your passport with the temporary GC so you can leave?

    Thank you :)

Our IO told us that we would get the card "soon" (horrible word)...but she never stamped anything..except the papers she was going over ;) hmmm strange

  12. They are suppose to approve you and send the card in 90 days.

If you don;t hear from them in 90 days, either call and place a service request or go on their website and schedule an infopass at your local office.

We, the "June filers group" have seen people that were approved in 90 days, but some of us had to call after 90 days and use one of the two methods mentioned... we did get approved and we did received it after the service requests/infopass
