  1. hey guys, I got approved!

We got interviewed separately (all the couples were too, I think it's how they do it in our local office) but it was pretty easy, he asked how we met, my name( and i said my maiden name duh lol), then he asked about our house (color, how many bedrooms and bathrooms, if it had a garage and if it was detached or attached) and where my husband works, what time, what he does and if he likes it, that was it.

He asked what I had with me ( an album, a scrapbook and a big folder) he asked to see the pictures and went really fast through them, didn't even see page after page then he asked about the papers, I said what I had and he said that's fine and didn't ask to see anything, ANYTHING AT ALL, dang it, took me forever to get all those papers together lol

then he called my husband, asked the same things and said I was approved, I didn't get to talk to him again and that was it, he said the green card would be here in 30-45 days, it was piece of cake, guys, my hubby messed up the color of the house hahahaa and I messed up my name, but we still got approved and didn't even have to show any papers, just be calm and everything will be fine.

    CONGRATS :)

  2. Hello ... how's everyone been doing?

Robyn-n-Kris I believe that you should call USCIS...go ahead and check the timeline for your service center just to make sure that you are out of their time frame and then place a service call to check on it. ChrisB0707 I believe you should do the same. I for one would do it...

    Good luck!

I am on the same boat with ChrisB0707,I tried to call USCIS and spoke to a lady she said i cant place a service call on my case she said all I can do is wait, my case is transferred to california she said they are only processing I-485 based on employment that made me confused, my question is how would I place a service call?

As I said in my previous post, you have to check the timeline for the service center your case is at this moment...so if it was transf to CA, check the timeline for CA service center and if your case is out of that timeline, call again and ask to place a service request on your case!

    GOOD LUCK!

  4. OH My God..

MY mom in law just called me last night, she told me I have a mail from USCIS..

But she did not open it, so now I'm hoping it's good news :):star: we are going to their house later,, and i am nervous.

I am still at state of shocked after what happened to us yesterday.

We just bought a car for me yesterday (1/4 is out of my hardwork eheh-i'm proud of it) it was a great deal for a nice car & low miles.

After we brought the car home, supposedly I will drive it, but decided not to bec. it doesn't have insurance yet. So, we headed to the restaurant to advance celebrate my birthday and for the newly bought car I had (as b-day gift), i was so excited.

They want me to drive, so that I will be confident in driving, and OH MY GOD>>>> somebody just pulled up from shopping center and wanted to turn right, wanted to merged into my lane, without looking and hit us :crying: :crying:

I was on the right lane, and I am right of way,,, it was so busy on the left also, I tried to avoid here, but it was too late..

The lady's car was wreck completely.... the front,,bumper

My dad's car was wreck also in the ride side passenger seat and the tire... It was a disaster.

I was shocked.. It's my first accident, and I am not expert driver yet...

I cried.. and don't know what to do.... the good thing is, nobody was hurt and it was not my fault and it's her insurance co. who will pay for the damages.

    I was so scared....

sorry for writing story here :)

Oh my...don't let this accident put you down! Cheer up!!! As Ed*Riza said, good thing nobody got hurt! :) The rest is just metal..it will get fixed :) Don't worry!

Now go by your in-lways and pick up your approval notice!!!!! :):star:

  5. Hi Fellow June filers!

Just to let you know I receive an e-mail from USCIS on:

11/18 - ordered production of my green card

11/19 - informing that they have mailed the welcome notice for the new permanent resident

11/20 - that they have mailed the approval notice.

My question is, will they mail the approval notice together with the Green Card? I was informed on the 11/18 e-mail that I should wait for 30 days for the card to be mailed.

    Thanks!

    Manila

    COngrats on your approval!!!!

We received the notice prior to the GC...check out my signature ;)

  6. Although my journey in AOS is not that very good, I am very happy to read successful stories here.

I filed June 19 but I have not received any interview letter as of today. And also, I got my EAD on October 16, on the same day I applied for Social Secutiry, up until this day no card or number was assigned to me because it seems that the EAD card issued to me was invalid. I went to USCIS last November 18 to complain about this, and I was told that it was their mistake that my EAD was not uploaded in the system and that it should be okay by Friday. I checked my status online and I got 2 touches after November 18, I went to Social Security office today, and guess what??? CARD is still invalid. my name is still not in the system. My card was printed out Oct 6, this coming Dec 6, its gonna be 2 months now and still I am unable to work because of I do not have social secuity.

How come they have issued me a Permit to work but is not valid for SSN.

I am really going crazy. I can not get a driver license nor a job without. I dont know what else to do. I hope one day, I will be posting a happy news here as well just like you guys. Feels like my AOS journey is a disaster.

But, I will continue to hang on and pray. Congratulations to everyone.

    :)

I didn't get a chance to apply for a job using my EAD so I don't know if mine was even valid or not..I read many posts that said the same thing w/ uscis not validating them... it sucks..we pay good money for all these paperworks and they are not even able to complete their work all they way through

I understand your frustruation..it sucks when there is nothing you can do and when you have no control when things that should go all smoothly as they are part of a process that has been around for so long...You would think that they are getting better at it as they are keep doing it..right?

The only thing that you can do is keep your faith, don't loose your hope and enjoy your time together!

    God bless...you're in my prayers

  7. Hi,

me and my hubby went to interview today.

Everything went well i think, the interviewer was pretty nice, she asked how we met and how long have we been married.

We brought all the document that they asked in the interview letter.

marriage cerf, bank statement , rental agreement, CC bills, utility bills and lots of photos.

But at the end, she asked for marriage abstract? I've never heard of such a thing, she said marriage certificate alone isnt sufficient.

She asked us to mail the abstract in and that was it.

Does that mean we are approved as long as we mail in the document on time?

How long do i have to wait after they receive the document they ask for?

My god, this process is taking forever~

MARRIAGE ABSTRACT - A marriage abstract is a certified document that is used for most U.S. agencies and some foreign countries.

CERTIFIED COPY - A certified copy of a marriage certificate is a copy of the original certificate.

Both can be ordered from the county clerk where you got married.

As far for how long you have to wait to get your GC after they receive it...there is no set time..sorry :(

    GOOD LUCK

  8. hello everyone,

My AOS interview is on Dec. 17 and i am gathering all necessary documents I need to bring. I am also reading up on forums like this to have an idea on what can happen in that particular day.

I am 26 yr old and married to a 24 yr old US Citizen.. He makes $1100/ month and we also have join accounts that total to $1600.. We live with his mom and his mom was good enough to fill up the form I-864A to help our case out..I am not working at this time but focusing on passing the Nursing board.

Can immigration based their decision on how much you have on your savings. Do we need to have more saved up...

I know eventually we can, but is there a magic number or something like that..

Thanks for reading and will be happy to haer from anyone...

They need the bank statements to see if you have a joint account...not to look at how much you have in there ..as far as I know ;)

  9. Had Rin and the children's interview today in Memphis. Took about 15 minutes for the interview. Swore Rin and I in, asked to see originals of passports, EAD, driver's licenses, birth certificates, and marriage certificates (compared each to the copy in his folders). Asked how we met; asked each child their birthdate and birthplace; then for any information on house contracts, life insurance medical insurance, etc.

Told us we were approved then printed a sheet of paper indicating approval and that the GC (10 year as we have been married just over two years) would be mailed to our home.

No more USCIS! (at least until naturalization)

    John

:dance: One more June Filer DOWN! Just a few more to go :)

They were place on hold today because they were missing the envelope with their physical... I wouldn't risk it..my advice: go get a new one and present the envelope at the time of the interview...

I am soooooooo happy for you!!!!!!!! ihaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  12. Hello my friends,

Our journey ended today. My wife's green card was approved after the interview this afternoon in Greer, SC. We are very happy!! This is an almost 10 years journey since my wife came to this country as a student that ends today. She never fall out of status. She got her undergrad, master and now on a second master ... We fall in love 8 years ago ... I got my citizenship and now we will stay forever in the country we love so much!

The interview was quick and fast. To be honest the only question was for how long we have been married (3 years so no conditional here). That's all. We have a son together and the little one was there. I guess that was good enough for the immigration officer. He was an adorable old man. Very kind, human and actually we discussed the economy ... as he said .. "I have to kill sometime here'' ....

That's it. Immigration now only 3 years from today. I would like to thank all here and wish you best of everything.

See you later in 3 years ...

    Vincent

    CONGRATS

my local office timing is getting ridiculous, last month it was March, 24th, it jumped to April, 4th, what the hell, people?10 days??????Are they eating cookies or working down there? This wait is so frustrating, GRRRRR

dont worry ,, we r next ,,,, i really enjoy this time now cause we r expecting a surprise everyday lol  ,,, just believe that it will come to u and the time left to wait is much more shorter than what we already waited before,,,,good luck everybody

DOn't go by the website...we filed June 18 and we are done...right now my local office says they are processing April 04 ...so don't worry...the data is not accurate!!!!

    Good luck and cheer up!

  13. 1) I've been married for 1yr and 4 months and during the interview date will be 1yr and 6 months, do you think I'll get CONDITIONAL RESIDENCE?

    2) Also will I get my stamp right there? This will be so ideal, my little brother is having his HS graduation ceremony, it will be so nice to be there.

    1) You need at least 2 years of marriage to get the 10 yr GC..so the answer is YES, you'll get conditional residence

    2) When is your brother's graduation? It usually takes 10-20 days for your GC to arrive in mail after it's been approved. If the IO will tell you during the interview that your case is approved, then you can ask for the stamp...if they will say that they need to present the case to a supervisor for approval, then they won't stamp your passport (the stamp says something like : I-485 approved and the date)

    Good luck!

  14. Oh my! Good luck w/ your exam! I hope you will pass it w/ a good grade! :)

We are leaving next week :) I haven't been home in...5 yrs ... :( I will cry for about 1 week and then I will realize that it's time to come back home..and I'll get back here and start crying again :)

I am so happy that God listened to my prayers and my sweet old grandparents are still alive even though they are ill.

You better start looking for tickets...we booked ours right after the interview on the 5th and they are already up $100 each.. I bet urs will be more expensive as it is the Holiday season.

  15. Hi guys,

I finally received my conditional green card in the mail. I checked it over,

and all the info is correct, except for one thing -- the country of birth is

    listed "Unknown"!

Has this happened to anybody before, and did you have trouble using

the card for travel/work? I'd just as soon not replace it, since it expires

in 2 years, and it would take months to receive a new one (I'm not

really sure how long, as I couldn't find the processing time for I-90

for the National Benefits Center which issued the card).

    Would appreciate any help!

I would ask for a new one..I mean any type of errors that might get me in touble when re-entering the US after a trip outside would worry me ALOT!!!

    :time:

  16. Thanks guys!!!

I will wait a week or 2 for my card, I still have over a month until my trip, but just in case if I don't get it on time I will make an infopass.

afromerapole good luck to you and I hope you get your interview soon!

Maad, thanks, and choinka is going to be in Krakow, I'm so excited!

Steph, waiting for the good news from you!

CONGRATS ELLA!!! I am really happy for you... I told you that 9:01 is a magical hour because everytime I had checked updates on my case they happened at that time... I would check @ 8:59 and nothing and refresh it a minute or so later and 9:01 would have a good news :)))

I did the same thing... I booked airline tickets to go home but haven't gotten my GC in hand yet..and we have only 9 days left until departure..so I scheduled an infopass for this Thursday to get the stamp in my passport.. even though I am hoping to get the GC by next Tuesday when we live...

the IO told us that we are approved at the time of the interview but didn't bother stamping my passport

Oh well.. CONGRTAS one more time!!!!:dance::thumbs:
