  1. You all are talking about sending case to embassy right? If i remember right the letter my husband received from NVC said that they send the docs electronically to USEM. (I thought they are just e mailing them) Also the USEM Colombo confirmed they received the case the next day itself. Pls explain if i have misunderstood.

Yes we are talking for case from NVC to Embassy. But I never heard any elec. email and guess it is fantastic since saves lots of time. Anybody else has any information regarding elec. mail ?

PS: Thanks all for the answers !

  3. How long does it take??

Has anyone's SO sent the email to NVC for the Change of Representive(DS3032) so I can receive the letters instead of her(not sure of the term, I'm leaving for work)....

Anyone who did the James' shortcut might know this answer.

Once you email NVC for DS-3032, you will get an auto response from NVC:

as for me still waiting for the interview letter from guangzhou.

    dos= department of state

it a place where you call to get update on your visa after you complete with NVC

Our cases move very good so far, we paid IV fee , waiting for the barcode sheet now. Thanks a lot for your help.

So, after our case complete at NVC, we should call DOS ? But ask for what? The status of our mail to China? What is DOS customer service number?

  5. My wife has a son who will come with her via CR1/CR2... Do I simply enter his information onto her I-864 in Part 3 of the

I-864? It is my understanding I don't need to fill out a I-864 for him.

Also, 2 photos of my wife needs to be submitted with the DS-230, is the same needed for her son?

If your stepson has his own I-130, they you will have to submit two I-864 form, one for your wife, one for your stepson.

But you only need pay $70, need not pay another $70 for CR2.

    Good luck!

    Lucy

  6. if it appointment post, NVC will assign you a date, it will then forward everything to your appoinment interview.

if not appoinment post, NVC send to embassy, name check embassy send out appoinment letter.

i think once u get your date, you cannot move up.

the time frame from case complete to appoint assign by NVC will be much shorter compare to embassy assign.

Hi, Coolgt, how are you doing? Do you get medical schedle? What does DOS mean?

My case moves very good, we are waiting to pay IV on line. Thanks for all the help.

Online payment works, we paid, and print the barcode cover sheet on the same day. Save lots of time. We have not got any email from NVC so far .

    Lucy

  8. Hi, a question for my daughter's case, NVC auto message says " NVC has received the AOS fee on May 9, we will send futher instruction ", I understand this means they have our payment for AOS( I-864 mailed today ), but, does it mean we can send DS-3032?

I did a trick on May 8 as I sent email to NVC for her DS-3032 since NVC need about one week. Do not know if it will cause problem as I send too earlier?

    Pls help me.

  10. We paid our AOS fee on line on 5/8 and money withdrawn from our bank . Barcode sheet generated and print out both for CR1 & CR2.

Find on online payment system, we need not pay AOS fee for CR2 case as it is covered under CR1.

But, NVC auto message still says " This case was entered in the NVC computer system on May 02. The case number assignned by the NVC is (Case #). Please allow 6-8 week from this date for the beneficiary to receive the documents", MY QUESTION IS, CAN WE MAIL I-864 FOR CR2 TOGETHER WITH CR1 NOW?

    Lucy

  11. It seems we should send NVC EMS labels with beneciary address together with DS-230 for the purpose of futhre of P4 Guangzhou Embassy

But I talked with EMS officer today, there is no service for them to provided pay in advance but pending mail. He says none of any China Post can do this except for some private mail service. ARE WE DO THIS ONLY TO HELP GUZ EMBASSY SAVE THE ENERGE FOR WRITING THE ADDRESS SINCE WE CAN NOT PAY IN ADVANCE?

Cany anyone who ready gone through NVC give some direction?

Since husband is in US now, can he get some DHL/FEDEX/UPS labels and ask someone write down the Chinese address? Does NVC accept DHL/FEDEX/UPS since this express also works in China.

I am on fire now, pls help.

    Lucy

I don't understand your reason for needing this.

The Consulate routinely sends the P4 directly to the visa applicant at their address in China without the applicant doing anything but to receive it. Yes, they'll use EMS when they do.

Please clarify why you have a concern about receiving the P4.

People are saying on the check list under DS-230 package, NVC need agent( my husband in US ) to provide EMS labels with my name and address in Chinese write there. NVC will forward this labels to Guangzhou Embassy, and Guangzhou Embassy will use this Labels to mail to Applicant( myself ). Sounds like good idea as we can track our P4 in the future.

My husband just finish his vacation here and arrive home today, so, I will have to mail this labels to him by DHL. Crazy.

    Thanks,

    Lucy

  13. listen to your lao po

    and it sucks......

CSC is around 150 days

Listening to Laopo is always a good idea but she may not always be the best source of US Immigration information.

NVC complete to immigrant visa interview in Guangzhou runs about five to seven months.

    Check these timelines...

    http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19303

I read about something about P3 & P4 but still have no idea about them.

What documents are included in P3 package and what do we should send back to Guangzhou Embassy?

What is P4? When do we need get medical inspection? Right before Visa Interview? So many questions, thanks a lot for your help.

    Lucy

Lucy, you will get more answers if you open your own post instead of asking inside someone elses.

More people will see your question.

Since you are an CR/1 - IR/1 filer, there is no "p3" packet really, this is a K visa thing.

The equivalent to a p3 is the paper work you send to NVC for your type of visa.

The p3 packet that NVC sends to the agent (probably the US citizen) has a checklist of things you will need for the interview. 90% of the things on the list are actually needed at the medical exam.. I'll talk about that later.

My main point is when you receive this checklist packet from NVC, make a copy for yourself, then forward it to your spouse in China. Once your spouse receives it, you can call them and go over what all is needed.

A forum like www.Candleforlove.com that is all china visa discussion is a good place to get help for how to gather any document that isn't clear.

Once you send everything to NVC, they will "approve" your case and send it to the Guangzhou consulate in China. This is the only US consulate in china that does immigration visa interviews, so even if your spouse is certain there is a US consulate closer, you will go to Guangzhou for your interview.

From the time NVC mails your approved visa to Guangzhou until the consulate "receives" it is about 3 months.

I realize you could swim it across the ocean faster than that, but in truth it sits in a warehouse until the consulate gets to it, so just plan on 3 months and save yourself some grief.

Once Guangzhou receives your case, it takes about 2 weeks to schedule an interview date, and mail out the p4 packet.

The p4 packet tells you when to come to the consulate for your interview, tells you what paper work you need to bring to the medical exam, and what you need to bring to the interview.

What they do is have the approved medical exam places pre-process your required papers so that when you get to the interview, they know you have all that ready. So about 90% of the stuff that was on the p3 checklist is actually used at the exam.

Then, you get all your exam stuff in a sealed envolope (DON'T OPEN IT), bring the additional proof of relationship documents to the interview.

Pass the interview, and live your lives together in marital bliss!

    Best wishes, and good luck

Hi, I see your interview is schedule on 6/13, congradulations!

I am the Chinese spouse living in Kunshan, a small city about 100Km from Shanghai, I found your guys are talking about EMS on the Chinese Blog, I try to post there but the administor does not allow me to talk there.

I need some help regarding EMS, do we need pay in advance in China for the EMS getting some numbers and write down the mail address for future P4? But I talked with EMS officer today, there is no service for them to provided pay in advance but pending mail. He says none of any China Post can do this except for some private mail services.

There is nothing mentioned on NVC website for the EMS issue, are you sure NVC is asking for EMS ? Can you explain details how to get EMS ?

Since we can not pay here in advance, the only thing we can do here in China is boutht a EMS labels with tracking numbers there and write down the mail address for the Beneficiary. I feel crazy as my husband just finish his vacation this morning and left Shanghai, it is a little late for me to find the EMS issues. Seems if EMS labels is a must, I need use express ( UPS/DHL/Fedex ) mail to him as our timeline for DS-230 is close, maybe earlier next next week.

Thanks a lot for your help.

DOES THAT MEAN NVC ACCEPT THE EMAIL, OR NVC REJECT OUR EMAIL?

    ANYONE HAS SAME EXPERIENCE?

    PLS HELP!

    Lucy

dont woryy i got the SAME exact email after emailing the ds3032. i think it is the standard message.. i think we should be fine.. it takes a week to accept the email...

    lets see wha thappens

Thanks, makes me feel a little better, but still upset as we fail to pay AOS fee on line today. Can you look at the questions I put at NVC with topic name " NVC online payment system with pictures"?

I see you already print out I-864 Barcode cover sheet, did you mail I-864 package to NVC ?

    Thanks!

    Lucy

  15. I made a payment online for the IV bill on 4/27, by 4/29 I had my IV bill paid. Called the operator and found out that my DS-230 generated on 4/28.

I printed my coversheet, however, before sending out the DS-230 I checked my bank account and the fee was not withdrawn for my account. I waited another day and even called my bank, there was no trace of the IV bill fee submitted to my bank account. I checked the payment account at NVC and my status was still paid.

this morning I checked the NVC payment site and the payment status was rejected, so obviously there was a problem somewhere with the payment site. I am 200% sure that I didn't make any mistake with my bank information etc. I resubmitted the payment today and will wait till the money is withdrawn from my account. I am not trusting NVC payment "status." I recommend everyone to make sure that the money is withdrawn from their banks before sending out documents and not to completly trust the Online site for status.

I had the opposite problem. The online site lied and said I wasn't paid. It errored out when I made a payment but since it said not paid and not in process with the box grayed out I figured it didn't take. Well, it did take and my payment went through twice. Over 2 weeks later, I still don't have my money back. People don't realise that the online system is not officially launched yet and that it still has bugs. They need to be aware that using this system is at their own risk and isn't necessarily without fault and if one encounters a problem, they will have limited recourse through the NVC since it isn't supported yet. Of course, you stand to save a lot of time but don't come into it with expectations that all will definitely go smoothly.

Badspellor, did you get through and to the point of below step which was post#1 did by Tyrobe on 4/17 ( Page one of this topice )?

    Step 4: Payment successfully Submitted

Step 5: Payment details with transaction ID?

We are tring to pay AOS fee today, but we never have the chance to see Step 4 & 5, and instead, we see the red box to say the payment is not successful as the system is not available.

We try a second time, still the same red box.

Will we be charged twice, or we fail to pay? Crazy.

Anyone with the same experience? Pls comment. Thanks a lot!

  17. My situation is simple to follow.

    1. I am sponsoring both my wife and stepdaughter.

    2. I have filed separate I-130’s for each and both are approved.

    3. I am filing separate I-864’s for each

    4. My annual income is over the 125% of the poverty level.

    5. My plans are that they immigrate at the same time.

Please help me answer item 8 and 9 from Part 3. “Information on the immigrant(s) you are sponsoring” on the I-864 form.

    Question 1:

Item 8 has three boxes that can potentially be filled-in. Which box (boxes) should I fill-in?

BOX 1 – I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in part 2 above

    BOX 2 – Yes

BOX 3 – No (Applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors

    Question 2:

Item 9 has one box and multiple entries below. Does the box get checked? And do I include anyone’s name, whether my wife or daughter, depending on which I-864 is in reference?

    Anyone can answer? Thanks!

    2. Part 3, item 9, should I say NONE since daughter has her own I-130 petition?

We lost our idea, and we will need finish this I-864 form soon base on NVC timeline now. Pls help!!!!
