    Please see this:

    https://www.uscis.gov/tools/designated-civil-surgeons/vaccination-requirements

The USCIS approved civil surgeon in your country can also let you know which ones are required as part of the K1 before it is issued versus the ones you can complete in USA prior to AOS.

thank you, ive seen this before but this is part of the conflicting info i have seen. on the state department website it says vaccines are not mandatory prior to k1 visa issuance, only before AOS. and the above link doesnt specify what vaccines are required between the different visas.

You can also try to contact your embassy directly to see if they can give you any information on the availability of upcoming interviews. I'd be sure to let them know that you have been checking the website for appointments & have not been able to find any, hence you needing to reach out to them directly.

thank you! i appreciate it! i will probably wait another few days and then take that avenue.

NVC never schedules interviews for K1 applicants. It’s almost always self schedule (I would say 90% of consulates have this practice) with a handful of consulates that  schedule them for the applicant but never NVC.

Nothing you can do but keep checking. It’s a common issue

i greatly appreciate the info! i feel much better knowing this!

  4. Hello, everyone!

Almost 2 weeks ago my fiance received the letter from the embassy giving us the go ahead to schedule an appointment for the interview. We received an expedite so that is why the NVC didnt schedule the interview for us. We have been checking the scheduling site every few hours, every day and so far nothing appears. does anyone have any tips for scheduling an interview? i really appreciate any help 🙏🏼

  5. So an update to my case, I sent an inquiry on the 5th of April asking if the NVC received my case because it was a few days shy of a month after i received my NOA2. They got back to me on the 7th saying my case was received but awaiting inprocessing. Then today, the 10th, I received an email from the expedite department saying they havent received it yet. 😂 i am requesting an expedite with the NVC because I received one with the USCIS. But when I called the USCIS to ask if they sent it, they said they already sent it 🤷. So i am wondering who to believe 😂. on the good side, the NVC processing times are going down. I am praying for everyone here and I hope we all get our cases sent to the consulates soon! 🙏🏼

    not me :( noa2 3/14

my NOA2 came on 3/08. i contacted the NVC 04/05 and they got back to me on 04/07. They said they have already received my case but it is awaiting entry into their systems. so hopefully, yours is already with the NVC as well or will be shortly considering that your NOA2 was received less than a week after mine.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation.

    K-1
        More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.
A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also
In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice
A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire

    CR-1
        Less expensive than K-1
        No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.
Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

thanks for this response! however, it doesnt answer my question. we have also already chosen the k1 route as well.

  8. hey everyone! this is my first post here. i will soon be having my case sent to the NVC and i am trying to be proactive and get everything ready. I am currently with my fiance overseas and I was reading that most of the documents for the interview need to be the originals. is the affidavit of support a document that would need to be brought to the embassy as an original with my signature on it? or would a copy be fine?
