There is a note at the bottom of the website you linked to stating VisaPoint can not be used by K Visa applicants. You must contact the call center.

I would have no problem moving to the Philippines. I plan to retire there.

Alot. I have worked with Filipinos for over 25 years in my job and there is a sizeable Fil-Am community where I now live. I slowly learned about the culture through them. Also, my father spent some time in the Philippines on TDY in the Air Force (while we were stuck in Japan) and he told me alot about the people there. I have been in love with the Filipino culture and people for a long time and will be retiring there.

Congratulations on the NOA2

Maricar and I are praying that your approval will be soon. Good Luck.

I grew up as a military brat (USAF) and lived around the world, moving 25 times by my 18th birthday. I have no place where I spent the majority of my childhood.

I've never quite understood that label. "America's team". Ive lived in many different cities including Dallas and it seems there's more Packers or Steelers or even Giants fans than Cowboys.
I wonder where the moniker "America's team" came from. I know its not from number of league championships because the niners and packer and giants have more. it certainly did not come because of superbowl wins (niners and steelers have the same). I mean who ever thought the Cowboys were the team favored by a majority of the population. I actually think more Americans dislike the team than like them.
That has been my experience too. The vast majority of people I have met absolutely hate the Cowboys, largely because of the label "America's Team"! My favorite teams are the Chicago Bears and whoever is playing Dallas

There is a woman at work from Taiwan who proudly boasted that she met her husband online and visited him on four separate occasions on a tourist visa, knowing she would get married on her last visit. She said on trips 3 and 4 here the immigration officers at LAX asked her about the tourist visa and why she only went to Oklahoma, she lied about wanting to see the buffalo and the Indians, and they believed her both times. She has been here a few years now and is very proud of the fact that she commited visa fraud.

There is no real choice this year as both candidates really bite. How did we ever end up with these clowns? Anyway, I will vote for McCain while fighting the urge to vomit all over the voting booth.

Just wanted to share the good news! Received notice that VSC approved my petition today. I am so excited. I called Maricar in the Philippines and woke her from a sound sleep and I think she woke up the neighborhood with her shouts of joy!
-
Congratulations. Hope to have the same feeling someday.

Still waiting too

Happy Anniversary!!

I fly Northwest frequently and have no concerns. They treat me fairly and the service is good. We had a flight delay once and they comped our meals in the airport and gave us 500 dollar vouchers. I thought that was extremely fair. Their frequent flyer program is also very good.

The Visa Journey Guide section (K1 Adjustment of Status Tips) states that Oklahoma residents need to file AOS in person at the OKC office.
Special Information on Filing Form I-485 for persons living in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico
Special Information for persons living in the jurisdiction of:
--o DALLAS DISTRICT OFFICE
--o EL PASO DISTRICT OFFICE
--o OKLAHOMA CITY SUBOFFICE
Effective October 23, 2006, if you are residing within the jurisdiction of the Dallas District Office, and effective
November 20, 2006, if you are residing within the jurisdiction of the El Paso District Office or Oklahoma City Sub-Office,
you must follow the filing instructions below when submitting an application based on:
1) A family relationship with an immediately available immigrant visa (K1 and K3 included);
2) A Diversity Visa lottery selection; or
3) A Special Immigrant status, excluding religious workers.
A. Location of filing and scheduling of appointment to file Form I-485 in person.
If you are filing the Form I-485 based on the criteria specified above, you must file in person at the office that
corresponds to your jurisdiction. To file in person, you must obtain an appointment through
InfoPass, an online appointment request system, which can be found at http://infopass.uscis.gov/.
Once you have selected a date and time for the appointment, you should print the appointment
notice, which shows the time, date and location of the appointment, and present it when appearing to file your Form
I-485 in person.
B. Documents to bring to the Infopass appointment.
At the InfoPass appointment, you must bring the following documents:
1) Form I-485 with supporting documentation and/or evidence of eligibility (e.g. Form I-797, Notice of Action, or
Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, or Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or
Special Immigrant, if applicable, Form G-325A, Biographic Information, Form I-693,
Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status, Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, etc.); and
2) Required fees in the form of a cashier’s check or money order made payable to Department of Homeland
Security or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
DORA (Dallas Office Rapid Adjustment) program was a pilot program that has expired and is no longer in effect.
Thanks for the info. The mods should update that section to reflect the change.

Maricar called me and told me that she and her daughter passed the medical.
She was really concerned about it but there were no problems. Maricar only needed two shots and her daughter needed three. Next stop......interview on Sept. 10!
