  1. Maricar called me and told me that she and her daughter passed the medical. :dancing: She was really concerned about it but there were no problems. Maricar only needed two shots and her daughter needed three. Next stop......interview on Sept. 10!

  3. Alot. I have worked with Filipinos for over 25 years in my job and there is a sizeable Fil-Am community where I now live. I slowly learned about the culture through them. Also, my father spent some time in the Philippines on TDY in the Air Force (while we were stuck in Japan) and he told me alot about the people there. I have been in love with the Filipino culture and people for a long time and will be retiring there.

  4. I've never quite understood that label. "America's team". Ive lived in many different cities including Dallas and it seems there's more Packers or Steelers or even Giants fans than Cowboys.

I wonder where the moniker "America's team" came from. I know its not from number of league championships because the niners and packer and giants have more. it certainly did not come because of superbowl wins (niners and steelers have the same). I mean who ever thought the Cowboys were the team favored by a majority of the population. I actually think more Americans dislike the team than like them.

That has been my experience too. The vast majority of people I have met absolutely hate the Cowboys, largely because of the label "America's Team"! My favorite teams are the Chicago Bears and whoever is playing Dallas :)

  5. There is a woman at work from Taiwan who proudly boasted that she met her husband online and visited him on four separate occasions on a tourist visa, knowing she would get married on her last visit. She said on trips 3 and 4 here the immigration officers at LAX asked her about the tourist visa and why she only went to Oklahoma, she lied about wanting to see the buffalo and the Indians, and they believed her both times. She has been here a few years now and is very proud of the fact that she commited visa fraud.

  6. I fly Northwest frequently and have no concerns. They treat me fairly and the service is good. We had a flight delay once and they comped our meals in the airport and gave us 500 dollar vouchers. I thought that was extremely fair. Their frequent flyer program is also very good.

  7. The Visa Journey Guide section (K1 Adjustment of Status Tips) states that Oklahoma residents need to file AOS in person at the OKC office.

Thanks for the info. The mods should update that section to reflect the change.
