    updated CSC transfer date

  2. Maricar and her daughter had their biometrics today in OKC. It took about 20 minutes for both and the staff was very friendly, including security at the front door. Maricar had fingerprints of all 10 fingers, a photo and a signature. Her daughter had a photo and only the print of one finger. No signature for her because of her age. I wish everything else involving USCIS went this smoothly :)

  3. Just checked our case status online and the I-485's finally showed up! It said both Maricar's and her daughter's I-485's were transferred to California on Feb 2. That is certainly good news. They are both scheduled for biometrics today, I hope all goes smoothly. My step-daughter is 6 years old and was scheduled for a biometric appointment. I thought children under 14 were exempt but will find out for sure in a few hours.

  4. If the dog was a beagle it was a member of the "beagle brigade" ,as they are called, and used to detect contraband food items that could cause harm to the US agricultural industry. They are used by the US Dept. of Agriculture's APHIS (Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service) at all POE's.

You have no need to worry about being on any list.

  5. So the question is: how many of you included just the DS-3025 and how many of you had it transcribed to the I-693?

Same with you, I also thought it is a waste of money to have a civil surgeon transcribe the vaccination record to I-693 so we just sent off copy of DS-3025. Some got away with it, others did not... i just hope and pray we will all get away with it and never receive any RFE for I-693.

Seeing that your medical was in May, before the new requirements were in effect, I bet you will be alright and not get an RFE for the I-693. Those of us who had medicals after June may not be so lucky but you never know.

  6. I tried adding the case numbers for my kids and my AOS and EAD case number on my old USCIS account (one I used for the I-129F petition), it says it can't add a case that does not exist... I tried creating another account but it would go through since my email address is already in their system. I don't know if I should wait a few days or weeks more before my case appeards online or if I need to log on to a different USCIS site. Had anybody else experience this?

We are having the same problem. There appears to be a delay in getting the new case numbers into the computer system. Keep trying, hopefully someday they will appear online.

  7. Hello Andy and Maricar i saw your post here and i wanted to ask about the k-2 application coz i have also a son and my question is does my son needs separate form I- 485 and G-325A,Affidavit of support as well? And whats the address for the green card application like what you did i want to send through FEDEX too.Hope to hear you soon thank you and pls say hi for me to your wife god bless us to our journey.

For the K2 there is a separate I-485. A G-325A is needed if the child is 14 years of age or older. You just need to send a copy of the I-864 Affadavit of Support that you included with your application. No need to send the supporting documents with the copy.

The address is in the instructions for the I-485. Use the physical address in Chicago for FedEx, not the PO Box.

  8. Received our NOA1's today (1/20) and have biometrics scheduled for 2/6/09 in OKC. They sent appointment letters for both my wife and her 6 year-old daughter. I thought young children were exempt from biometrics.

Congratulations!! Hopefully things move quickly for all of us =) Did your biometrics tell you to go to a certain location or just go to the nearest local office. The reason I ask is cause we have an office one hour away and one two hours away. However, the one in Spokane (two hours away) is processing things a lot quicker than the other one and I didn't know if we had a choice.

Yes, the biometrics notice has the address where you are to go, in addition to the date and time and additional info about what to bring and how to reschedule if necessary.

  9. MY wife had the same result on her TB skin test. We had it done at the local county health department. You will be required to get a chest xray to determine if you have any evidence of pulmonary TB. Our health department offers free chest xrays and we sent her xray from her medical in Manila along with the new xray to be read by the state TB doctor. If you are negative for the xray they will still likely offer you medication for latent TB. We were offered it but declined. We haven't taken the results to a civil surgeon yet because we can't find one who won't overcharge ($250 :o ) to transcribe the vaccines and TB test result.

Check with your local health department, they have a lot of experience in these TB cases and are more knowledgeable than a civil surgeon as far as TB goes. Good luck.

  10. My wife received her SSN several weeks ago, prior to our marriage. We recently applied to change the name on her SS card to her married name but were denied because we are within the 14-day window for expiration of the I-94. Is that proper? We just wanted to update the records at SS. Will we now have to wait until EAD to update her records? How will this affect our tax-filing this year if SS still lists her with her maiden name instead of married name? Very confused
