  1. We have received three emails from CRIS stating the I-485 was approved. The strange thing about this is that they have been sent over a 3 week period and each email has a different approval date on it, the latest stating it was approved 6/9/09. We have already received the approval letter from the first approval email (in May) in the mail, and also letters stating green card production has been ordered. We were wondering if anyone else has heard of this happening and should we be concerned? Very confused.

  2. We received the anticipated I-693 RFE Thursday but there is a kicker with this one. They state my wife's medical exam from the Philippines required her to get another medical exam within 6 months of her arrival date in the US!!!! #######!!!! No one said anything about this requirement during the medical exam, her chest x-ray for TB was clear with no additional tests required, no problems were noted during the exam. At her POE in Guam, the immigration officer never stated anything after he took her medical exam. I am really confused about this and of course the fools manning the phones at USCIS were of no help, not even the supervisor. I was told my options were (1) to get the medical exam or (2) to submit a letter with the RFE explaining that there was no apparent problem with the medical exam at the time of the exam or at the POE and hope the adjudicating officer looks at her file before the due date and accepts our explanation. If not, then her case will be considered abandoned and will be closed. Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and pay for another medical exam. I am so tired of dealing with the incompetent fools at USCIS.

Andy-n-Maricar, I'm sorry about your RFE but if I were you, I would do what they say and get the new medical exam here. I absolutely agree with you that there are a lot of incompetent employees in USCIS but sometimes it's better not to fight with them proving that they are wrong. I am saying that because I remember the sad experience of some girl that I know from another (Russian) forum. They had exactly the same situation that you have: were sent RFE for medical exam even though she had the valid one from Russia. They sent the polite letter to USCIS which explained why she didn't need the new medical exam... There was no response from them for some time and then they mailed her notification that her case was denied since she didn't submit the required documents!!! :dead: Afterwards they spent a lot of time to open the case again... So, sometimes it is less painful to do what they ask... You may go to infopass but be careful with them since sometimes their right arm doesn't know what the left one is doing

Thanks for everyone's replies. I am leaning toward getting the new medical but may also get an InfoPass appointment, even though it is 100 miles away, just to see if they actually know what is going on.

Things are never dull when dealing with USCIS :(

Hope everyone has a Happy Easter.

  4. We've been having the same problem. The only CS that would agree to do it charges the same cost as the medical exam, $250. Outrageous. I am seriously considering using Dr. Arnold also but he won't transcribe the TB skin test results, so I don't know what to do about that issue. We did send in our AOS without the I-693, only the DS-3025, and are expecting a RFE.

  5. Maricar received her EAD in the mail today. We have not been able to track it online so this was a welcome suprise. The card was approved for printing on 3/13, the same day as her AP was approved. Now we just wait for the I-485 approval, but we are expecting a RFE because we did not submit a I-693. (Problems finding a CS who knows what they are doing). Anyway, we are happy with the EAD now. Good luck to everyone still waiting on the EAD, I am sure yours will be along soon.
