I was just wondering if anyone else is having trouble tracking the status of their case? I put my receipt number in, but it says it can not be found. Does this mean they have no done anything with it yet? Thank you!

The NOA 1 says to wait until you receive the biometrics appointment letter before checking status online.

Taking out the requirement to penalize businesses which knowingly hire illegals effectively neuters the law. Illegal immigration won't slow until businesses start having to pay severe penalties for hiring known illegals. Once it hits their pocketbook and some execs go to jail maybe they will start following the law.

USAA is the best. I have had insurance and banking with them since 1981 and have not had any problems with their claim service. USAA is now open to all ranks in the military, not just officers anymore.

You are free to marry in another state in less than 6 months as long as you meet the requirements of the other state but you cannot cohabit in the state of Oklahoma until the divorce decree is 6 months old.

The Oklahoma Statute you are concerned about is Title 43, Section 123.

§43-123. Remarriage and cohabitation - Appeal from judgment.

It shall be unlawful for either party to an action for divorce whose former husband or wife is living to marry in this state a person other than the divorced spouse within six (6) months from date of decree of divorce granted in this state, or to cohabit with such other person in this state during said period if the marriage took place in another state; and if an appeal be commenced from said decree, it shall be unlawful for either party to such cause to marry any other person and cohabit with such person in this state until the expiration of thirty (30) days from the date on which final judgment shall be rendered pursuant to such appeal. Any person violating the provisions of this section by such marriage shall be deemed guilty of the felony of bigamy. Any person violating the provisions of this section by such cohabitation shall be deemed guilty of the felony of adultery.

You can enter the US through any POE you wish. That said, Guam is a great POE and in my experience much better than LAX or SFO.

We were married at the county courthouse in Oklahoma. We applied for the marriage license and were married by a judge about 20 minutes later. After the ceremony we had to sign the certificate, the judge signed it, and two witnesses signed it. We then went to the court clerks office, where the certificate was completed and signed by the clerk. We got our copy of the certificate at that time, no waiting, and purchased additional certified copies for only $1.50 each. The entire process took less than an hour. The marriage is valid as soon as the judge pronounces you husband and wife. You will be able to file jointly with your wife for your 2009 taxes. If she has no SSN you can request an ITIN from the IRS.

I used Flora2000 when Maricar was in the Philippines and never had a problem either. Delivery was fast and the flowers always looked great. They are a top-notch outfit and highly recommended.

K2 visa holders are not eligible for SSN's until they have adjusted status and received their green card.

Guam is great. Quick and easy. Maricar had no problems at all there.

Hope you can shed some light, as my husband and I are trying to figure out of there are any friendly POEs.

We are considering two airlines (destination is New Orleans, where my husband's parents live): Continental and NWA. My daughter and I will be coming from Manila.

Continental flies through Guam first, then Hawaii (Honolulu), then Texas (Houston), then Louisiana (New Orleans). If we fly through Continental, are the immigration checks done in Guam, Honolulu or Houston?

NWA flies through Japan first (Nagoya), then Michigan (Detroit), then Louisiana (New Orleans).

Are any of these POEs friendly? We really would like things to go smoothly when we go home.

On Continental you go through immigration in Guam and customs in Hawaii. Guam is a very easy POE. Many of the IO's are Filipino too.

My wife's POE was Guam, very easy and hassle-free. Guam is very friendly and many of the Immigration Officers are Filipino. On Continental, you will do Customs in Hawaii and Immigration in Guam.
