Thank you so much. I will pray that your case goes even better and im sure it will, because mine was crazy complicated. If mine didn't go into real administrative processing and was simply them making the visa then im sure yours wont either. Good luck and God Bless.

The reason I didn't do i-824 was because the estimated wait time was the same as a new I-130 from abroad. It didn't work out that way because, our case went into limbo where they didnt deny it or acknowledge my first set of withdrawal letters, then they denied it one year later, they they reopened it and it sat for 1 year, then after numerous calls to USCIS, our case was apparently misplaced and put in the national records center that basically left it in limbo, finally at that point i was able to send withdrawal letters to the correct place and it was withdrawn a week later. This was why things happened the way they did. Very complicated and unfortunate circumstances. But we've made it through, hoping this is the last small hurdle. Thanks for your input.

Congratulations to the visa! I read the whole post and it seems your wife had a very normal visa interview, especially for certain embassies. Didn't see anything odd about what you described.
In Sweden, the US spouse has to call beforehand and ask to be put on a list. You don't get into the embassy if you're not on the list.

Thank you very much!! I really appreciate you to take the time and explain the interview process, it helps a lot to have an idea.
I hope that our case gets a fast approval, so we can be together!! I can't wait!!
Congratulations again!!!!!!!!!

They can really ask about anything. It can be about your relationship or not. They mostly want to vet the beneficiary to see if they would be a good candidate for a visa so that's why they can be thorough. I always say that if your relationship is real, there is nothing to worry about in the interview. Just answer honestly (which she did) and that's all you can really do.

I cannot believe my eyes but we just got the appointment letter email. almost exactly 4 months after DQ. Our appointment is a month and a half from now. So I am about to get busy getting everything ready now. Thanks guys for all your support!

I got a vague answer. I'm guessing since I have been in the que about 4 months now that it would mean someone like me who has been waiting a while still has another 1-3 months left, hopefully the former. Is there a whatsapp or facebook group for Guyana Embassy people. waiting on interviews after dq? If so, would much appreciate it getting dmed to me. Thanks.
We have significantly reduced our backlog over the last few months. Applicants who have been in NVC’s scheduling queue for some time should expect an appointment within the next 1 – 3 months.

Went to the guyana embassy and they refused to give me any rough estimation whatsoever of how long it could take. Then told me to email visageorge and visageorge did the same thing. Guess just gotta wait and hope since they refuse to be transparent at all about the process.

The CO didn't asked for the petitioner's bc, but I also updated it and took it to my interview to avoid any delay.

The consulate will advise you what documents are required. You must take the originals of all documents which were uploaded during the NVC stage. The ones taken to the interview will be the ones you scanned and then uploaded. Each visa category has its own specific list.. you cant go on what someone else “suggests” Save your reaction for the correct list that comes to the beneficiary from the Consulate

As I stated. Read thevrespurces from the Consulate .. not someones generic dump
I have given you 2 links .. one to the info from the NVC process on preparing for the interview, and one from the USCIS site also on the specific requirements for interviewing at Georgetown.
Prepare well yes.. but use reliable correct resources. Assess others carefully

Read the letter they send you. Read the official instructions. I cant tell you what to do beyond that. I read my consulate instructions along side the USCIS links for my consulate .. i followed their directions and instructions. I attended the interview My visa was granted.
From the first link i sent you
Step 10: Prepare for the Interview
After the National Visa Center (NVC) schedules your visa interview appointment, they will send you, your petitioner, and your agent/attorney (if applicable) an email noting the appointment date and time. After you receive an interview Appointment Letter from NVC, you must take the following steps BEFORE the interview date.

Reading both pieces on info .. the key is
1. NVC says they will set the interview dats and time and notify you
2. The consulate requires you to “register” your interview .. they dont require you to “make” the interview appt itself. Thats already done
If you follow the link, given in the Georgetown consulate info, to register your appointment it will become much clearer to you . Breathe

I 130 and supporting documents depend on the type of visa
I 130 if parent applied for u would need their marriage and all info about them
I 130 for spouse only info about the spouse and bene are needed (Parents not part of this process unless they are joint sponsors)
I 130 of a child needs info about petitioner, spouse, and the child

You seem to be quoting an individual's advice. Follow the official instructions instead.

First this is primarily about the couple and not their parents.
I believe that while at the interview, requests made for documents can be questioned by simply saying that it was not requested on the official list.
Most COs would not go that far unless you really messed up your petition. In that case anything is game and you caused it.
The attached snapshot also does not look like one for the IR1/CR1 category. Not sure which visa that is for.
You need to look at the requirements for your category.

Hi, the document that you are referencing to is from a personal review back in 2016 and that's from a different category. I (Guyanese) had my IR1 interview back in August this year and the documents the consulate requested at the interview were:-
1. My birth certificate, NOTED if issued before 2010, updated one needed.
2. Police clearance, valid for one year from date of issuance.
3. Marriage certificate, NOTED if issued before 2010, updated one needed.
4. Divorce absolute
5. Petitioner 2022 tax transcripts
6. Joint sponsor 2022 tax transcripts and proof of domicile.
7. My medical report was uploaded directly to the embassy by St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
As a safety I walked with all the documents NVC requested (hard copies) and even additional proof of our marriage.

HelpNeeded101 reacted to nastra30 in Exact same affadavit for each set of parents?
Clearly, parents signed affidavits that are not theirs. This is why affidavits are weak weak evidence. Just skip the affidavits and stick to the other tons of evidence you have. Good luck.
