  1. Oh, and I booked an appointment with a nurse for Monday 3rd June to discuss vaccinations. :) I should at least be able to have the MMR for free (I'm under 25) on the NHS.

Alex finally filled out the Affidavit of Support form and will hopefully have it notarized for free at his work tonight. Looking at his earnings he does earn quite a bit more than 125% of the poverty level but I'll still feel happier having his dad as a co-sponsor as Alex can only provide me with one year's tax returns.

Hi Rachel, sounds like you have a good weekend planned. I think its a good idea to have Alexs' dad co sponsor as well. That should make it a slam dunk and yet another thing you will not have to worry about.

  2. Tee hee thanks Shes! I will take any good vibes we can get!

On a dif note I got wii fit yesterday and OMG what fun it is! I am HOOKED! I know how I shall be wasting time now haha! Anyone have any plans for this long weekend? I know it is bank holiday in England as well....no plans for me except laundry, beer, and wii fit haha!

You're so funny sunnybear, I now have an image of you leaping about the living room this weekend - with a wii control in one hand, a beer in the other, and the unfolded laundry on your couch. :D

  3. Front & Center... Wow Geek reporting for geekiness...

While I met BMJ playing EQ2 I now (having beta'd many many many many MMO's) have settled in Wow for a while. I do keep trying to get her playing wow  but so far she has resisted the addiction !!

Im Currently on Khadgar. Under Tassian, Tassraen, Whipper or Phunbags (being a US server the GMS's have not yet got the meaning behind the last name :P, Dang sometimes I love being a Brit) I might be up for a bit of casual gaming. Horde OR Alliance Lemme know.

PS I do mean casual as Im studying hard to get more Qualifications to help me get a nice big juicy IT job in the US.

I'm on Terenas normally...I don't really care where we put the guild (assuming we can get enough people interested). My only request is a non PvP realm...I don't mind the occasional PvP, but I prefer questing/raiding/etc.

You gotta love PVP - for the most part you're safe, depending on where you quest. But if we get a bunch of VJ guildies starting out together we can stay safe. I can crank through the Alliance quests pretty quickly (having done most of them a couple of times), the horde side takes a bit longer cause I'm new on that side.

  4. AH! I am so scared of being left behind, too...I just got more scared about it reading estadia's post. She said CSC was concerned about their age difference...there are 10 years between Dennis and me, I'm 27 and he's 37. I hope that doesn't cause problems. I think I'm just having a panicky, extra-stressed day today.

There may be other issues there than just the age differential which are bringing estadia's file into a security review situation. The state of Kashmir has many issues regarding terrorism/seperatism and is a hot point between Pakistan and India so they could be running into a Name Similarity issue that the security clearance people are having a hard time resolving. As far as the age differential is concerned I don't think it matters - unless there is some question as to Sara's age when they met - (she says 18). Finally, there is the potential issue of how the reviewing officer views the prior K-1 her fiancee was on and the reasons why it was pulled - something that only the CSC may know.

Regardless, there are a number of items that might play into why the CSC has taken so incredibly long with her application - items that are unique to estadia's case. Personally I think it is insane what the CSC is doing to her. I say if security is an issue, then out with it and give them an opportunity to respond, don't just keep this thing bouncing from reviewer to reviewer.

Anyway, my point is that as long as there is proof of a bona fide relationship, then age doesn't matter.

  5. Alliance sucks. Lin and I belong to the real power. The Horde

Kick the gnome is our favorite game to play on the weekends. Stormreaver ftw

    3 70s and a 39 twink undead rogue.

Anyway, I'm a March CSC filer. Looks like I'll be playing WoW without Lin next to me for a while longer eh?

Hope you gals/guys get your NOA2s soon

My 70 warrior and lock eat hordling shammy's for breakfast - Alliance rules. Except when I'm playing my horde paladin - then alliance sucks.

lmao...I tried to play horde for awhile and everyone just snipes at each other so much! The first 15 minutes I played someone sat in general chat and ripped apart anyone who dared say anything...and it was pathetic, too! It was like he was trying to root out alliance spies or something. I honestly heard him say things like "That's the kind of thing ALLIANCE would say!! How dare you alliance scum come play on the horde side!!" That's the last time I played horde.

You know...there are so many of us that play WoW...we should start a VJ guild on one of the servers. :)

    Actually I think that's a great idea

  6. Oof, hangovers are no fun! I had one...once. :hehe: Never again! Fortunately I'd had the foresight to take the next day off work (it was after the Rocky Horror Show on a Tuesday night and I anticipated staying out late) and sat in a park on a gloriously sunny day eating a huge, greasy and very tasty burger from the park café.

My head goes :bonk: The only way to survive is to eat either a greasy hamburger or get some flaming hot mexican food. One smothers the pain, the other purifies by fire. Both effective. When's lunch..... :D

  7. hi people! hey i'd just like to tell:

GREIVIN & COURTNEY and JEROEN & MICHELLE

im watching our application since we were all touched at the same dates - JANUARY 29. 2008

im believing that if one of us gets that approval, the 2 will follow

about the uscis website...i cant get through the "log in" site..i click the go button and it says loading but its taking too long...

 Isn't that perfect - the website for an arm of the US Department of Homeland Security has crashed. Unbelievable - time to call the plagues upon the CSC...... oops, can't do that either.

  9. Good Morning Everyone :star:

I had a softball game last night and the after game celebrating went on a little late last night. Needless to say I am now a limping duck with a hangover. I'm not thinking I'll be very productive today. I saw that April approval it could be a cuban fiancee - very short approval times but very long time spent waiting for an interview. Or... it could be a mistake, but we'll never really know since timelines are not accessible for them. Oh well.

The mail from Monday should be hitting mailboxes today and tomorrow so this evening I am hopeful we'll see a revival in CSC approval postings. But, people should brace themselves if this doesn't happen. Monday is a holiday here and there is no work nor mail delivery so we could be in for a bit of a dry spell into Tuesday. I, like many of you, am also worried about being left behind. Looking at Mox, L&P and some of the other active posters I almost get a "Moses" complex - you can see the promised land but you cannot enter - feeling. It's not rational but since when did fears need to be rational. Having Cecile and Rachel approved has eased my mind a bit, and I don't carry a staff, nor wear a beard and long flowing robes (or look like Charlton Heston). Perhaps if I also avoid burning bushes and stop leading people through the desert for a while, all will be well. :P

  10. Morning all :) I'm trying to add a picture of Levi and I to my profile but can't figure out how to do it!!! HELP

Go to My Controls > Change Personal Photo. :)

I'm so not computer saavy LOL. The picture is on my e-mail how do I get it from there to here?

Save the image to your computer (usually right click > save as) and then you can upload it from your computer (click 'browse' and then search for where you saved your photo).

    Hope that helps!

Thanks! I'll try it right now :)

 that was almost half an hour ago, and still no picture - how ya doing Heather?

  11. Richard have to leave on Thursday afternoon... :(

Back to Chicago... and the same day he'll have to take another for Korea where he will stay 2 weeks for work.

So between when he leave Paris 'till he will land in Korea... it will be something like 35 hours...

He knows it before he planned to see me. But as he got a window to come... he jumped on it.

He's crazy! OH God I love him!

    That is obvious (F)

OK, I won't ask any other questions about the visit, I just hope he is able to sleep on the way over to see you, cause I'm thinking he will not sleep much while there. :P

Tssssssssss what are you thinking about?

I swear He will spend a lot of time in bed :)

  13. I received touches on three of the four calls. The one call in March did not generate a touch which would tell me the officer that answered the phone just blew me off. The call on May 2nd generated a touch and then I noticed that the file was touched again on May 4th (a Sunday). So, I am figuring that indeed someone at the CSC was going through files on the 4th and must have prepared a stack to be given to an officer. I assume that my file was given to the officer on May 6th and it would make sense since it was touched on the 4th. Only a thought on my part, but makes sense.

When I called, I asked them if I possibly I had an RFE since my case was so dated. They would check the system and tell me no, that in fact there is no RFE. Then I would ask "Since I have you on the phone, can you tell me where in the division my file is?" They would put me on hold and come back and say it was with an officer and approval should be forthcoming soon.

Once the updated processing times are posted, I have a little more ammunition to go back and forth with them on the phone.

I assume that the processing dates should be updated today or tomorrow. I have watched over the past 6 months and typically they post an update about 6 to 7 days after the 15th of the month - (but still date the update as of the 15th???)

    Good luck to you.

    John

Well they just updated the processing window to Nov 17, consider yourself well armed. Good Luck!!

  14. woah I sure did.. I was searching for #81 and was like 'huh, whos that? where are we?' lol.. then I found out we moved 14 places :D

Oh well, no new approvals to show, still nice to see the bump ^^

edit: btw, I just checked the USCIS website.. it doesnt show they updated the times in their tables tho.. guess its an update only in Igors list

I can see it now, whereas I couldn't a short while ago - the update is to November 17. Quite strange.

You have to clean your cache and restart your browser to see the change :)

Never surprised to find someone smarter than me :P

So Chantal, what have you got planned for Richard during his vist? I'm sure nothing in Paris compares to Wrigley Field, but I'm sure there's something of interest to see.

  16. Hi,

ive seen a few people write this...what does it mean when your case is updates or 'touched' and then ppl put about filing boxes?

 I've seen this same question many times, in fact I even think I asked it myself.....

When you get your NOA1 you will find that it has a case number.....or if you wrote a check for the filing fee and that check has cleared the bank you will see a long number on the back... you can take that number and log into the USCIS website and set up an account with them. When you've done this you will see your petition and on that same line you will see a "last updated" date. When that last updated date changes we call that a "touch".

What happens is that whenever your file is handled the handler wands a UPC tracking code on the cover of the file. This way the office knows where each file is, and who has been working on it. It helps track the file and helps to keep things from getting lost. When the wand registers a particular file (it's being handled or moved) then the system updates the file with a changed updated date.

What is common to see is a NOA1 date (in my case it was 1/29/08) and a last updated date soon after (in my case 1/30/08). The joke is that this "touch" was actually putting the file into a box, where it will sit for 4 months waiting for a case officer to handle it. I hope this helps explain it.

  17. Bryan has gathered everything but the employer letter, and he still needs to get the I-134 notarized (but he filled it out already). He said he would do that this weekend. I hope he will send everything to me as soon as possible!

Rachel, Blake is right, there isn't anything to do between NOA2 and packet 3. Though I was wondering if we should try and contact NVC, just to know when they got (or will get) our package. Is someone here planning on doing it? I don't know how long to wait before to tell Bryan to call them.

I've got a nasty migraine today... actually it started yesterday but I could still manage to work. Today it is definitely harder.

    Hi Cécile!!

I know I got my NOA2 before you, but somehow I think our petitions went to the NVC at the same time.

(Some persons were saying NVC received their petition on May 5th, when I just got approved by CSC.)

My fiancé did received a paper saying our petition was received at the NVC on May 15th.

What you can try to do is tracking packet from DHL ( NVC only use DHL to send petitions to embassies).

Here is the post of someone who called NVC, and here is what she got:

My package left NVC on 08 May 2008. This is what I did on the site http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

In the "reference" box, I put EXP 07 MAY 2008A (notice that's the day before they said it left)

They must generate their reference and do the packing the day before pick-up because EXP 08 MAY...didn't work.

Below in the "shipment pick up date range" I put May 8 2008 to May 8 2008 (I wanted to see things leaving NVC on only May 8)

Then click the red arrow that says "track"

There were three pages of shipments, so be sure and click "next" which indicates if there are more pages.

I noticed that there were 67 shipments leaving NVC on May 8, but each was to a different country (no duplicates) which tells me that they combine petitions going to the same Embassy. Looking at details on some shipments, the London package was 3 pounds and Manila was 40 pounds, so there must have been many petitions from Manila going together.

I did the same steps above for the previous day (May 7) and there were 16 countries, but they were all different from the May 8 countries. Thats 83 different countries in 2 days, with multiple petitions in many boxes! It kinda gives you an idea that many more petitions are being processed than just the timelines we stare at here on VJ. They may have some order in their mail room where different countries go out on different days of the week. It's just my speculation for what it's worth.

Hopefully your migraine is going to go away! That must be really annoying when you're at work.

Hope that will help you out!! ;)

Great information, thanks for posting it.
