So like 4 months ago I sent in my I-751 and had my biometrics appointment 3 months ago.

Yesterday I got a letter from them saying that the evidence submitted with my I-751 is insufficient.

Seriously, I dont know what else to send them. I sent them our joint leases from 2008-2010 (I dont have the lease contract from 2007 - 2008 because we moved), sent joint tax return, pictures of us, copies of plane tickets for trips we took together, joint automobile insurance. There is nothing else to send. We have seperated bank accounts, which we do on purpose so there will be no fighting over money, I still have my maiden name. I mean really?!? What else do they want!?!

Did that happen to anybody else?!? All I read in the forum is people getting approved..

Yurika i was getting tired of checking my email and finding nothing, and going to online status to see initial review, last week i decided not to check on my status or my email, and guess what the email was send out on the 17th, so i was stressing over the weekend for nothing

My husband sent a Expedite letter with my application. He's currently deployed in Afghanistan and I think that's the reason why I got approved so fast.

Walk in BIO : 12/11/2009

I sent my application packet to CSC and completed my BIO appointment at West Sacramento ASC.

I did my bio same day (12/11). But I'm VSC filer so..... I could be approved today if I was CSC filer!!!!

I am not going to do a victory Jig until I have my greencard in my hand. You can never be too sure about USCIS. Though they have redeemed themselves a little bit if everything is in order with my i-751 application.

Just wanted to give a little update to how this situation has played out. I made a copy of my entire I-751 app and brought it to Canada with me. My package has been received in Cali. I called the border patrol in Winnipeg which is where i will be hitting US customs before arriving home in Chicago.

I was told quite simply that with my expired greencard, and a copy of my application to remove conditions, "not to worry about it" and that i'll be just fine getting through.

I was extremely stressed out assuming i'd need my NOA letter to get back in. I did explain my circumstances to the woman on the phone at border patrol and i'm not sure if the fact my brother just died had anything to do with her being so understanding, or wether they can be this leniant at any time. I will be bringing a copy of my brothers death certificate just in case as well as my airline ticket from my flight in showing that i wasn't here long. However, the woman on the phone also said that if my application has been sent in and received that they can look that up in their database and confirm it anyway.

yeah I just got home and read the letter (NOA I-797C) and it says in there "If you have not already done so, provide supporting documents tto assist USCIS in processing your petition and to establish elegibility to remove the conditional basis of your permanent residence."

Is that normal that it says that?

So now I know that I need to send the documents to help the officer with our paper work. It also say that we will be getting the biometrics appointment notice from our local Application Support Center. So I hope with me sending off the documents needed it will help us out even more.

We finnally got the NOA for my wife today 14 DEC 09. Sent out the I-751 form on the 25 NOV 09 and they recieved it at the Vermont box on the 30 NOV 09. The NOA says that they received it on 01 DEC 09. I guess I'll wait till we get the biometrics appointment. how long does that take?

I think USCIS asks people to wait 30 days before inquiring about their biometrics letter and actual appointment. You can get an Infopass appointment and ask them about your status and your biometrics.

That's when I would schedule it.

I just checked their website and they say 45 days but most people are going for biometrics within 4-5 weeks, so in case they mailed you a letter and it got lost, I would still schedule it 30 days later.

You can always cancel your appointment online, but hopefully you don't have to go that route and you will receive your letter soon.

I wouldn't worry just yet. My guess, your NOA1 was dated Dec 2nd or so, so I would expect to receive your bio letter by this coming Friday, it may take longer depending on which ASC you will go to for your biometrics.

On November 29 I called customer service to find out the status of my case, which has been pending since December 2008. I was transferred to an IO, who looked up my case, said she couldn't see what the hold up was, and that I would hear something back within 30 days.

Today I received a letter telling me to make an appointment at my field office to find out the status of my case. What on earth??????? Why couldn't they just tell me the status in the letter????

So I called the customer service line, spoke again to an IO, who looked up my case and said that as far as he could see, it looks as if I'm going to be called for an interview!! WHAAAAATT??

After almost a year, during which the USCIS has apparently done NOTHING on my case, and just as I'm about to apply for citizenship (next week), they want to call me for an interview??!!!

I cannot begin to tell you how frustrated and angry this makes me. I see people on this forum being approved left right and center after just a few months, and this entire process has been a nightmare for me. I have made an Infopass appointment for tomorrow morning, but I swear, regardless of waht they tell me I'm going to submit my application for citizenship next week. I'm not going to jump through hoops for the I-751 at this late stage only to have to do it all over again in a few weeks (hopefully) for the N400.

Count yourself lucky if you case is approved in a timely fashion and without incident. That has certainly not been my experience and it makes my blood boil.

I never received an NOA either. You don't need it for your biometrics appointment but you do need something if your green card is due to expire soon. The best thing to do is to make an InfoPass appointment at your local USCIS office ( http://www.uscis.gov = choose 'make an infopass appointment' from the lower left hand side of the page). Bring along your green card and your passport with you to the appointment - they will use your A number to access your file and will put an I-551 stamp in your passport that usually will be good for 6 months to a year - plenty of time in which to receive your new 10 year green card. The I-551 stamp is just like a green card and is recognizable for travel and work eligibility.

My FPrinting is on Dec 10th...will go for it.

My GC expires Jan 30th so I have 2 months and will wait I guess till the end of Dec before I make the InfoPass Appointment...

What do you folks suggest???

I filed in February and my green card was due to expire in May. I made an InfoPass for 3 weeks prior to when my green card was about to expire. I wouldn't try to get an extension until you are closer to the expiry of your green card because it is still valid for now and you may yet receive either the NOA or even the 10 year green card itself before the 2 year one expires. Once you get closer to the time -or if you know you will be travelling out of the country when the green card expires - I would make the InfoPass appointment for then. You do need to prove you need the I-551 stamp to USCIS and you really don't until January 30th.

Hi Kathryn41, I have a feeling I will not recieve an NOA, it been almost 14 days since I send my package, the check was cashed but I have not revieved an NOA, If I get a Bio letter that will kinda help coz am getting nervous, how long did they take to send you a Bio appointment letter coz I noticed you did not receive an NOA either, thanks

Some people sent package around 19th still haven't got NOA yet.

Maybe you'll get it tomorrow. I think you can wait for a couple of days...

I updated my address on the USCIS website when we moved but could not find the print out-misplaced it therefore did not include it with my package. My package was received at VSC on the 19th, the check was cashed on the 24rd, but I havent received any NOA as of yet, just getting alittle nervous thinking they send it to my old adress (I had the new address on the application), anybody thinks I should fill another electronic change of address again, just curious..will appreciate any feed back

Call USCIS and follow the prompts for address change just to be sure they got your change.
