  1. I am a United States Citizen. We were going to get married on 07/07. So whatever date we get married has no implications on her immigration status? Whether it be today or 5 months from now?
  2. I work from home and she is always doing some sort of online course. We plan on doing AOS. Would it be wiser to get married now or wait a few months into her being here to get married? Or does it even matter?
  3. Yeah I am trying to do this legally. I'm not trying to commit fraud. I can buy her a ticket back at any point. We know we want to get married. She has a little over 5 months here. That is plenty of time for us to research the proper channels that we need to go through. It is all extremely confusing. I'm not sure which "route" to take in order to get her residency and us be a married couple living together.
  4. She told them that she was coming to visit her fiance for at least two weeks. She never lied to them. She said they didn't ask her hardly any questions at all. We got engaged before she went back to Mexico the last time. I apologize to anyone for my ignorance here but it is just that. Neither of us have done this before and never had a guess that it would be this much of a nightmare. Our anxiety is through the roof after having made this thread.
  5. Because we don't know when exactly she will be returning. I've not much experience in flying in general, so I didn't want to buy a ticket not knowing when she would be returning.
  6. She had every intention of returning home. She has just under 6 months to be here and I will buy a ticket then. We just wanted to be together while we figured out the process.
  7. I am located in WV. And I'm not sure what she told CBP. I mean I only bought a one way ticket so that should be pretty clear.
  8. Thanks to all for the replies. Fortunately, I work from home and she has already began to make friends. I think that AOS seems like the more appealing route. She understands that once she begins the process that she will not be able to leave for 8months give or take. We are prepared for this.
  9. So our original plan was to get married here asap and have a wedding in Mexico next year. If we get married here, she doesn't have to leave right? We are tired of being without each other. Video calls only go so far. lol Also, is there any paperwork that we need before getting married aside from a marriage license? And would it still be a regular marriage license?
  10. We met while I was vacationing abroad and hit it off right away. She came and visited once already where we went on a few trips and ultimately decided to get engaged. She returned back to Mexico and arrived back in the US 25 days later. We want to know what our best and quickest routes would be about her becoming a legal resident. Should we legally get married first or wait? Are there certain forms that we must fill out and if so which ones? We really do love each other. I just had no idea how many government strings would be attached to this relationship. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
