Would it be easier to get divorced if married inside Texas?
I had no clue it was that difficult to get married if married abroad and other person lived outside of Texas, very crazy.

What? You don't believe in love at first sight? You need to be a bit less narrow minded it sounds like.
I have seen hundred of people file for K1 visa after only meeting one time and some for only a week trip, they were all approved from the Philippines.
USCIS follows there own guidelines, they are quit simple for K1 here is the form you file with instruction, very simple and basic.
Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) | USCIS

I've heard it was more difficult a few years ago, curious why it appears better now? Also, what's your opinion about the initial time before we met in person with the required documentation? Let's suppose I met her online just 1 month before and hit it off great during a 2 week visit to the point of an on the spot proposal w/ meetings w/ parents in the country etc?
Pandemic shut or closed caused the backlog
When I did my K1 it was approved in 30 days and she was in my country in less than 4 months from Philippines.
Now of days there is a backlog on all Fiance and Spousal visas, You are right a few years ago the K1 was the way to go. I could of waited 4 months or waited over a year on a spousal visa.
What I don't like about doing a Spousal Visa now of days is the long wait time, you marry said person after only meeting them in person after a few days and next year you get divorce due to the log wait time, then you could have your assets being split.

Evidence of meeting in person, at least once in the two years before filing the I-129F petition for a fiancé visa, plus other required civil documents, is all that you need for a low-fraud country like Hungary. Best evidence of meeting in person is original boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel receipts, a few photos of the two of you together. No need for email, phone, or chat records. As others have said, why not consider a CR-1 spousal visa, as it is far superior and takes about the same amount of time from filing a petition to US entry (1.5 - 2 years)?
Many could and would argue that spousal visa isn't "far superior", that is an opinion.

Has any US Citizen ever been required to pay child support for a kid or kids they have had in Philippines and left in the Philippines?
I remember Dennis Rodmans father had like 29 kids from 16 different woman in the Philippines, He should of been on Maury TV show who's the father.

I guess maybe it varies by country or currency. I transferred about 3 times that much from the UK. Don’t know if there is a limit or not. Sounds like you have worked out a plan that fits your situation. 👍
Yep it seems to be country specific, pretty standard for a 3rd world country like Philippines to have low limit due to lots of fraud and corruption in the country.

I have used Wise, formerly Transferwise, to transfer money. Wise. com
When comparing rates, look at the service fees and the exchange rate offered.
Income tax is based on income earned in a tax year. Your entire savings balance was not “earned” in one tax year just because you change the bank that holds it. If you were paid $10 interest into that savings account in the tax year, then you “earned” $10 which is reported on the tax return, no matter if earned in the US or abroad.
Wise would only let me tranfer less than $9,000 from USA to Philippines, Not a fan.

Is Ankle monitor is from ICE and he has to check in w ICE or related to terms of release?
ICE never got involved, that was the whole reason to check in early and get out quick so ICE couldn't get him and deport him or lock him up for a year while he waited for trail.
Ankle monitor if from the county jail as part of release.

I believe that comment you quoted was speaking of fees charged by the sending bank or transfer service, not the US bank which should be pleased to get a big incoming deposit already converted to USD. Also the exchange rates offered when sending need to be compared because that is not a standard rate.
I agree on the exhcange rate for sure, but I was using dollar to dollars account sending and receiving from Philippines which I have a US Dollar bank Account over there not a Peso.
Many US banks also charge for incoming international wire fees, some are cheaper if you do it online. Even BOA and Chase charges but if you have a certain account, they will waive it.

*** Moved from Off Topic to Tax & Finances During US Immigration, where similar topics are discussed ***
No US tax when transferring money from abroad. But there's usually a service fee charged by the bank or service company you use to transfer the funds.
If your US bank is charging you a fee for international wire then you need to get a new bank, I use BOA and Chase and fees are waived for incoming wires.

Update: He turned himself in Thursday morning around 6 am and was booked and jailed, Bail set at 25K, since they didn't want to use a bailbond company and wait for a delay to get him released, they put up 25K to get him relaeased asap.
Supposed to be released early Friday morning after getting ankle monitor, he was finally released around 4 pm on Friday and beat ICE. So now he's a free man until the set the court date which could be month or years away.

Oh, miracle of miracles, they just called me back.
And fortunately, my wife had not left the house yet, as they requested to speak to her (and not to me).
And now we have our appointment for Sept 30 at 7:20 AM!
I am so happy right now.
Greg
My local USCIS offered walk in to get the stamp, you had to wait for the people with appointments to go first and if there was time you could get the stamp. Glad you got an appt.

it is marriage fraud to look for a husband to marry to stay in the US on tourist visa
is the man a US citizen or green card holder? makes a difference
so, there is a lot we don't know to properly answer that question
you went the CR1 route but this poor guy should be aware of what is involved with filing AOS in US
so, if u know him encourage him to join VJthe AOS is $1225 and he would need to cover all her expenses till she has finished the process and that means paying for all health care (insurance and bills not covered by the insurance)
The penalty for a fake marriage if discovered is five years in prison at most, a $250,000 fine, or both. The Immigration and Nationality Act 275(c) clearly spells out the immigration and criminal consequences for faking marriage for immigration purposes.Jun 18, 2022

for anyone interested the following site lists every immigration judge and their asylum seeker decisions and denial
looks like over 70% are denied by all of them
https://trac.syr.edu/immigration/reports/judge2021/denialrates.html
Those decision are nowhere close to the number of poeple who have crossed looking for asylum. Must be missing data or incomplete.

( I was thinking that if this happens it could made the process even longer for alot of people )
City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams and Manhattan Councilwoman Gale Brewer are backing Mayor Eric Adams’ urgent request to get asylum seekers working — and say they’ll press Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand to get it done.
Brewer penned a letter asking Schumer, Gillibrand and all the members of New York City’s congressional delegation to work their contacts at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services to approve an emergency measure that would expedite processing times for employment authorization applications submitted by asylum seekers.
If green-lit, the measure could permit an eligible portion of the roughly 10,000 migrants that have come to the Big Apple from the southern border to work.
“We write to urge your support in requesting that United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) expedite processing times for applications for employment authorization (Form I-765) for individuals seeking asylum,” writes Brewer, Speaker Adams and five other members of the City Council in the letter, which will be sent on Thursday. “Local nonprofit providers and community based organizations are reporting processing times of six to 12 months for these applications. There is a significant backlog of applications for employment authorization and the agency must clear it.” https://nypost.com/2022/09/14/city-council-leaders-back-mayor-adams-push-to-put-migrants-to-work-in-nyc/
What about all the ones in Texas? California? They don't get to be part that could apply? Since this is state specific I don't see this ever happening.

People making a choice to go to school as early as possible is neither a bad choice nor a shame.
The shame part was she had to start directly to school when she arrived, instead of the spending time together and bonding and hanging out. My fiance came from the same area, the time change and culture shock would be hard to over come in the first week or even first few weeks.
Never said college was a bad choice, please stop reading stuff into my posts.

I would just go back to the courthouse and get an original certified copy that says "filed" and send them the whole 40 page document, it is safer.
I'm a bit paranoid, but it's better to be safe lol

Yes, it was her choice, it was a blessing as a K1 entrant,, you can't work, drive really, it was a way for her to keep busy, and she needed to do 20 weeks of schooling to get licensed here in Nevada anyway. 650 hours, plus 80 clinic hours, she got licensed about the same time ead/ap showed up.
My wife first week she was trying to get used to the time change being 14 hour difference, and probably her 2nd week. Thankfully my wife wasn't in any hurry to work, I really enjoyed the first 6 months, I didn't work much and we just enjoyed hanging out and exploring. Good times..

My wife went to school a week after arriving on a K1. Usually to avoid the out of state tuition, or non- resident costs, just get a utility bill or something showing you are a Resident of that state now. My wife used a utility bill in both our names, and her State ID at the time. School didn't care really about immigration status. Of course, some schools can be more strict, but a simple state college or university is more than happy to take money.
That's a shame, the first 6 months is some of the best times. You both get to explore the USA and settle into your life, too bad having to go straight to school.
