Hey everyone.
What's the best way to remit money to the Philippines nowadays? My mom has a dollar account with BDO.
Would bank-to-bank transfer be better in terms of taxes/ fees/ exchange rate?
The best way is to open a Charles Schwab account, you can do it online. Get your debit card and fedex/DHL it to here in Philippines. She can use any ATM in the Philippines to withdraw money, they have excellent exchange rates, She can take out up to $1000 US Dollars per day, and the best thing is all your ATM fees worldwide are credited back to your account.

At one time if you had a Chase Bank Account you could transfer US dollar for like $3 per transaction to BDO. CHase and BDO has or had a relationship that provided that. It been years since had Chase Bank account, so you may want to look into that and see if they still offer that service.

This says different anyway you would need to know the refusal rate for people in this sort of situation for it to have any validity.
You maybe correct about them including k1's since they claim they do 200K per year
Seems as if they are lying:

K1's are non immigrant and I would expect they approve a lot more than 80%
Nope not according to the US Embassy in Manila. They are talking about tourist visas

Your Fiance is free to marry
Either do the K1, do the Utah Online Marriage, or get married in Philippines
I would look at the first two options, Under Philippines law he is free to marry as well, he will just have to have Affidavit of Legal Capacity to contract marriage notarized in the Philippines if you want to get married inside Philippines. I would look at Utah Online Marriage since the US Embassy has to take a cosponsor for that one.

You are free to apply, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. I'd say the chances are somewhere between 0%-25%. But none of us are the CO. Good luck.
Per US Embassy in Manila they have 200,000 non immigrant visa applicatons per year, and they claim they approve 80% of them.
I say this is a lie, but that is what they claim.

Why isn't he free to marry you today?
Why does he have to his divorce recognized by PSA?

I was unsure where to post this, so thought here would be best. Mods please move if need be.
I am posting concerning a friend. His wife left for vacation to The Philippines from Texas about a month ago and took their youngest son. (My friend has another son from a previous relationship) She and the son in The Philippines are USCs. He was born here and she became a USC I believe through her marriage (I could be wrong) My friend has found out that she wants a divorce and is not returning back from her trip with their son. Via fb messenger. He noticed she left enough money in their bank account for him to pay bills for a month (she earned more than him working in the medical field), wiped out their savings account and is trying to sell the house he lives in with his other son.
Is there anything he can do even with this distance in getting his son back? He informed me tonight that he didn’t see it coming and learned she stopped payments for bills a month before they left, at the airport wishing them a good trip, he suspected nothing. Until he checked bank accounts after her fb message a few weeks later. He’s unable to reach her as wifi is spotty (I’m unsure where exactly she’s located)
Any feedback is appreciated.
He could fly over there, file a case on her and possible get her arrested.
Then he could fly home with child

US Department of State has a international child abduction unit, I would have him call the number and discuss with them

She is probably back to her old city or province, he can contact PNP and hire them to track her down and do survilleance on her. He can find out where she is, where she is living, what she does during the day and night, etc
And then go from there.

My wife and I just got married and I just left her in the Philippines. I filed the I-130 tonight.
Is there any chance of getting her a tourist/visitors Visa to come here prior to us finishing our immigration process? She has a son who we will bring along in a couple of years, along with family so she has ties to go back. Plus she has a small baking business. Any thoughts or do they just frown upon this because they think they won't go back?
Thanks
It's only $160 to find the answer, I would roll the bones.

Even if she gets a tourist visa approved there a chance she will be offloaded by immigration for being a female traveling outside the country. Now if you were with her then she would be fine.

Have you ever thought about moving to Philippines and living there for a while?

I am a petitioner and filled for my spouse; we married last May. (I-130, priority date 10/15/2021)
On September 19, I received an email from NVC stating that they were ready for me to begin applying with the National Visa Center. I paid, and now I can see steps online on what to do next. However, I do not have the tax transcript for last year yet.
Background:
I filed joint taxes in April. Account Informed me that I could not file electronically. I mailed in my taxes. I work as an independent contractor, so 1099 & for my spouse ITIN. I got a letter from IRS on August 8th stating they need more information to process the W-7 (for my spouse). It said if you send a passport, no other documents are required. I got my spoused passport, and It was delivered with documents they sent me on September 1st. I have been trying to reach IRS, but they are no way to reach them via phone. There is a local office about 90 minutes from here. I am thinking of driving there, I can't even make an appointment, so I will just see if I can talk to someone there.
I had the same issue a few years ago, I mailed my returns in, and it took over 2 years for them to finally get them where I could get a transcript online.
You can google how to reach the IRS and follow the steps.
I talked to them 3 different times, When I called backed after about 6 months, The 2nd IRS agent basically told me everything the first agent told me was incorrect. To me they have no clue what they are doing there.

So she was able to get home. I bought her a new ticket in her maiden name. Then, Philippine immigration gave her a hard time at departure because her green card didn't match. After some back-and-forth they let her proceed. She got to Asiana and they were basically "So long as you have something with your name on it, we are fine with you flying." So a waste of $1400, but it is what it is. She's home. I'm happy.
That is kinda what I figured was gonna happen, Thanks for the update
Did she have to go to the room behind the Immigration and wait there while they sorted it all out at the airport?

I think he may be mentally challenged or have some type of syndrome like he maybe a tad autistic or have asperger.
He just doesn't strike me as being all there, and he smiles alot which is a trait of someone with an issue.
His dress attire looks like what a kid would wear if he had to dress up, he looked ridicolous.
He reminded me of the guys from Stepbrother when they went on a job interviews and wore Tuxedo shirts.

If you will be in Palawan, you may want to consider going to El Nido to do this:
I never do tours in any country, but the above one we have done various times pre-Covid, and its one of the best tours anywhere. We did it one year as a company team building event. Its phenomenal. After a two year hiatus due to Covid, they are back and selling out quickly.
That is a cool deal there, and I like the boat and it being big and large seats. What a cool trip and price is fair.

Gee, it's a shocker that Kimbaly freaked about about the 2nd wife thing when she originally said that she could do it. Throwing drinks at him is becoming a habit, and he takes it like a chump, and then apologizes. Grow a sack and send grandma packing. He could find a cute woman his age.
Did she throw a drink? Maybe I missed it.

yes, but she is still in her home counrty filing K1
no AOS yet , she has to wait for this whole process to get her AP , EAD , etc to work here
her employment in UK is not of importance to the K1
The purpose of a AOS on a K1 is to get Legal Permanent Residence, not to work.
-

it is the employment of the USC that is important for the process
The USC will need to show ability to fully support you after K1 visa is granted till the AOS is complete so you can work in the USA
The AOS is to so the person can become a lawful permanent residence in the USA.

Hey guys,
Does anyone here have any experience traveling in and out of the country before receiving the physical green card?
I entered the US on a CR1 Immigrant visa that has the following statement: "Upon endorsement serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year"
However, I am not sure wether I should apply for a travel document or re entry permit before exiting the country. Does my passport and endorsement suffice the US travel requirements?
How familiar are airlines (American Airlines specifically) when it comes to those procedures? I've heard stories of people being denied boarding by an uniformed airline staff when trying to ....
I'll be flying in and out of Mexico City if that matters. e
Mexico you are probably fine
My wife used the stamp to fly out of Cancun airport a few year ago, but we were on American Airlines who is pretty familiar with the stamp.
