K.D.C got a reaction from Jordanian Bride in I-751 September 2024 Filers
My receipt date is 10/2 and I was expecting to wait until my N-400 filing to get any sort of update. On a whim yesterday I checked my case status and it's aleady been approved my card is being produced!

I'm happy to see I'm not the only one with that fast of approval! Does anyone know why it would be so fast? My husband is active duty so I was wondering if that would be why? Or did I just luck out and send the exact evidence they needed?

Congrats for those that have been approved and hoping everyone else gets a quick response too!

K.D.C got a reaction from nka1509 in I130 approval name change
I applied in under my maiden name passport. I sent everything with that passport number and name even after I got my married name passport. When I went to my interview I showed them my old (maiden name) passport then my new passport. They didn't even flinch. She just said "oh you just changed your name to your married name" and continued on. It's a very common thing. They took my new passport to put my visa in, completely seamless. Just make sure you have your passport you applied with that's most important.

All of USCIS is backed up at the moment, so if you look at a lot of people's cases, it's likely gonna be about that 8 month mark.  Some go faster, some go slower and don't panic if they transfer your case to another service center.

Start a spreadsheet - you'll need to know all the addresses the beneficiary has lived at since 16 years old when you fill out the DS-260.  This was a pain in the butt for me because I moved a lot!  Add a tab to that while you're at it and track all of your travel in/out of the US.  It will be needed in future for naturalization as well.

    Welcome to the (gong) show!
