  1. Oh this is so so helpful thank you for taking the time to respond, it makes sense to me now that the I-94 is just a record of past travelling rather than some sort of up to date tracking of the foreigner. Again thanks for educating this newbie! much appreciated we're hopping online to finish the I-130 filing.
  2. hi Timona - thank you for your reply I'm a newbie here so I apologise if I've offended you in any way genuinely thought as I'd used the immigration service with my new passport in married name to buy an ESTA that they may have registered this and I potentially needed to seek out a way to rectify. Again, thank you for your reply I appreciate the advice.
  3. Can anyone offer any advice please regarding I94 immigration record of travel after changing to married name please? I've searched and haven't found info on here or Facebook groups / youtube etc. I got my new passport/driving licence/all official bank, work, pensions etc back in my married name (after only 20 days start to finish after landing back from the states if anyone else from the UK is in the same boat wanting to change things it seems the passport turnaround times are super quick at the moment!) bought a new ESTA in married name on new passport number as is required so thought we'd ticked every box. But now a week later my husband and I are about file the I130 online to find that my I94 record is still only in my maiden name on my old passport number and there is no record under my new name and new passport number. Would it be sufficient to supply scanned pages of old passport and submit the I-94 under that name? Has anyone else been through this? I have had 2 previous passports over 10 years and those records have been merged. I even messaged the CBP just to get a generic reply back that was about ESTA's not I-94 so we're a bit stuck at the moment. Thanks for listening and any advice welcome!
  4. I had this dilemma too (I am the UK wife, husband lives in US) and so we decided I’d just go ahead and apply for everything in my name name going forward. I got back on 14th September this year from our wedding in to UK and even with all the closures and extra bank holiday for the Queens funeral etc I had new passport, driving licence, banking, electoral register, my nursing registration, dr’s and everything else all sorted and back in my hand in my new married name as of October 4th yesterday. Those 20 days of waiting were worth it for us because now moving forward obviously everything will just be in my new married name. I applied for a new ESTA in my married name with new passport yesterday and it was approved in 23 minutes even with putting my husband and emergency contact details. Relieved that I can visit for the next 2 years whilst the length I130 / CR1 process now commences for us. Just coming upon one issue which is that my I94 is only showing old passport and maiden name obviously but I’ll add a note to explain that. good luck with whatever you decide!
