  1. All of you were wrong. She got the CFO sticker. The counselor were just playing hardass...

Next up is the airport immigration.

    MODERATER can close this thread.

And to those who end up here reading.

Just provide every possible document that you can get your hands on.

I think that the paper from my ex-wife assuring I'm not a bad person and 5 other pinays I meet in person who also wrote a msg that I'm not a playboy or violent or evil helped a lot.

    Despite what people here said.

    Anyway,  thx for all suggestions.

After you get a license, https://www.utahcounty.gov/Dept/ClerkAud/MarrCeremony.html

is where you go to schedule a marriage ceremony.

The officiant (person performing the ceremony) is in the State of Utah. You and your partner are connected on Zoom.

I think it's around $100. Search this forum (Philippines section) There are some very detailed posts about it. The site that you went to is a ripp off.

Yeah, googled and found other with lower price. Still waiting for Philippines embassy in Stockholm to answer if they acknowledge that kind of certificate ...

They are always so slow and answering

I'm amazed that people are surprised about how the Philippines really is. This is how it's always been. At the end of the day it's a very corrupt third world country.

Just ask some OFWs or filipinos who have left the Philippines and aren't in denial about it.

I could go on at length about all the issues that exist in this country but it's the sort of thing I tend to keep quiet about online because I am living here for now and in the long run it's not my problem.

Let's just put it this way...you need to be real careful with how you interact with the government in the Philippines. They can do all sorts of outrageous stuff like throw you in jail for nonsense reasons or even outright kill you.

That's why my fiance want to leave. She already realized this.

She even got job offers. But CFO wont let her leave....

I just saw a new pinnacle of CFO/BI madness.  There is a woman posting on a Facebook group that she is a duel citizen,. In possession of her valid US and Philippine passports. And she was held back by BI departing NAIA because she did not have a CFO Certificate in her Philippine passport.  To which she obviously replied that she is a US Citizen with a US Passport so she does not need a CFO Certificate to depart to the US.  She said they did eventually let her go, only after detaining her for a while and escalating it to a supervisor.

That's terrible. They are terrorists.... just harassing people for fun and entertainment.  Human rights doesn't exist in Philippines....

I have been going to Mexico since June made 3 trips there, They were at 21% vaccine rate back in June.  They are fully open for tourism and never closed, no vaccine needed to enter, No quarantine, no covid test needed to enter, easy peasy.

They are very very similar to the Philippines except Mexico has much better tourist infrastructure in place and you can get a 5 star hotel for 3 star prices.

Lots of the world is open for tourism, and Asia is starting to open slowly and Philippines will join them.   Philippine has adopted the "I am afraid to open the door" and they have decided to curl up in the fetal position and lay in ball on the ground and hope covid goes away.   Soon they will have to realize they will have to deal with it and stop destroying their economy by shutting down.

Some countries just face rolled COVID others panicked. Which country did the right thing we don't know. Sad to say Philippines is one of those who had no idea what to do and just followed what their neighbouring countries did.

But this is not a forum for discussing COVID.

I have looked into Utah marriage. The office gov page is down but I found another. To bad 2 of the top site wants 899$ for international wedding. So much money. Would been ok if I haven't already spend over 2k dollars on plane tickets and VISA applications.

My boss might agree to give her work Visa too but that process is 6 to 8 month to process.

Guess we have no other choice then to wait. Again.....

Why will that not work?  Philippines will recognize a US marriage certificate, or just about any country for that fact. It will get you visa to Philippines by being married to Philippines Citizen and satisfying the requirement of Bureau of Immigration rules.

Is the page down? Or just blocked in my country? Because I can't reach it

Seriously? Sounds weird but Okay. No idea about the rules. I always thought that we needed to be citizens of any of the countries. I'll check it out then

  9. 11 minutes ago, Joe Kano said:

Can't you get  Utah Online marriage done, that will let you get into the Philippines.  Once there then get married again if you decide you really want to be married and then your home country would recognize it.   Then you could do a visa petition.

I'm swedish citizen so that won't work.

I think they will open up for tourism by this time next year.

I don't think so. We are at 89% vaccinated. Still not open for tourism outside EU/EES

The CFO end has to be handled on the Philippines side.  If her parents happened to know a connected politician, maybe something can happen.  Otherwise, you need to go meet her.

I asked. They are not originally from Manila so they don't seem to know that many who could help.

Yeah, I want to go there but its impossible right now and most likely for another 2 to 3 years

I just went through all the posts to make sure I did not miss anything.  There are a few key pieces of information that might explain the CFO decision.

    1.  She obtained a "visiting family member" Schengen visa.  Which family member is she visiting?

    2.  She is 21 now.  How old was she when you met?

    3.  Have you ever met in person?

    4.  Does she have any previous travel outside of Philippines?

    5.  What is her financial status?

If the answer to #3 is no, 99.9% chance she will not be approved by CFO to go to Sweden.

If #3 and #4 are No, highly unlikely she would be allowed to go to Thailand, especially to meet a stranger.  Sorry, but if you have not met in person, you are a stranger.

If the answer to #5 is less than middle class, no visible career and no visible means of income, highly unlikely that she will get a CFO for any travel.

If those are true, the only solution I see is for you to travel to the Philippines and meet her.  Of course, that is almost impossible right now but might clear up soon.

One of the purposes of CFO is to protect poor, pretty, young girls from being trafficked all over the world.  Her parents notarized permission means nothing if they are poor, because they would hope to benefit from the relationship.

If I am incorrect, we would be happy to hear all the details.

    1. She obtained a "visiting family member" Schengen visa.  Which family member is she visiting?

    Me. Her fiance.

    2.  She is 21 now.  How old was she when you met?

    19.

    3.  Have you ever met in person?

    No.

    4.  Does she have any previous travel outside of Philippines?

    No.

    5.  What is her financial status?

    Middleclass

So we are basically F ed

    At least we know

  12. 1 minute ago, RO_AH said:

Well you basically have 1 choice. Kiss the toes of the CFO. Plead with them. beg them, do whatever it takes. If you need to take a break from thinking about it for a day and come back with a refreshed attitude, do so. It doesn't matter how tired and angry you are it is the best option in front of you.

I'm actually passed the anger etc.

    My fiancee finally stop crying.

We are getting focused on round 2.

But don't know what to do.

That's why I asked here when we can turn in a new try of application?

  13. 1 minute ago, RO_AH said:

So you are defending it? I'm trying to give you advice, but you can always choose to ignore it. That statement is meant to be confrontational. and you will not win that way.

If you filled in your details people could advise you better.

You should have never bought a ticket until she completed the CFO, If you need the CFO to leave, you don't buy the ticket until you receive it. You know why? Because you are right, they don't care.

Like I said you have every right to be very upset, you can vent your frustrations all you want here, but you should always remember the end game. They have the power and you do not. It's not about who is right or wrong it's about winning the game.

So what is next step then?

I'm so tired to deal with this I can't think.

    Lost so much money too

This is true of pretty much any government official anywhere in the world when you are trying to get something done in a bureaucracy. If you smart off with U.S. government people they can make your life a living hell too.

All I pointed out that I couldn't apply for schengen Visa without already bought roundabout ticket. Its required!

They knew we were in a hurry and just ignored it and ghosted us for 2 days so she missed the first plane.

  15. 3 hours ago, RO_AH said:

I do not know how you acted with them, I know you are very mad about this and have every right to be. But you need to remember that they hold the key so you need to kiss their rear or you are doomed. Traveling to a 3rd country will most likely not work because she has a valid immigration visa in her passport. I know that this really sucks but your easiest and fastest route will be to win the hearts of the people at CFO. It's sad that you got stuck with a consular that is such an (don't want to be filtered). Just remember the culture here in the Philippines. The CFO has ALL of the power and they expect to be treated that way and you must kiss up all the way. It does not matter if you were being  "arrogant" and "inpatient" or not. They felt that you were and that is all that matters. Don't let them feel that again. Your other option is doing an online wedding through Utah. There are many posts about it on this forum. You would be able to get a visa probably within a month to go visit here and after that file for spouse visa instead. Like I said, your best bet is to get this CFO taken care of.

All I did was ask why they ignore our msg when they promise to get back to is the next day.

Online marriage is not legal in Sweden.

  16. 12 minutes ago, Joe Kano said:

That isn't an age gap at all.   I mean surely whomever you are dealing with has someone they report to, It seems as if you are being singled out.

I saw some mention they were calling out CFO on Facebook and getting positive results, this to me seem like a last choice

When I tried to msg them on Facebook they got worse. They said I acted "arrogant" and "inpatient" so I don't think that would help our case....

It may be time to ask for a supervisor, sounds like you got someone with a chip on their shoulder.

What is the age gap?  Even though that shouldn't be an issue my fiance was 20 when I first did CFO.  I know a guy who was 55 and his wife was 17 they got married in the Philippines with her parental consent.

    She is 21 and I'm 38.

What do you mean with "supervisor"?

  18. Just now, Joe Kano said:

Did you furnish a parental consent form for marriage?

Okay I gonna clearfy all papers we submitted

    -----‐----------------

    Copy of our passports

    Our birth certificate

    Pullout from our bank accounts

    My divorce papers

    Her proof of single ship

Affidavit  - notarized by PH embassy in Sweden

    Invitation letter - signed

I'm not married in Philippines - notarized

I'm not abusive or an addict signed by ex-wife - notarized

    Criminal record - notarized

Approval from her parents - notarized

Plus the rest of the requirements on CFO list on their page. I don't remember them all but video chat pictures and chat logs and so on.

  19. 5 minutes ago, Joe Kano said:

What type of paperwork are the asking now?  Can't you furnish it to satisfy them? Even if you have be clever about doing it?

Last paper they asked for was a proof that I'm not married in Philippines.

Which I'm not. So it was really easy to get.

    But that's not enough.

We still haven't got got the answer but from reading everything here on other places they wont give her the CFO.

    Not a chance

So, if she is 21 she needs to wait until she is 26 to be allowed out. According to my research. We don't want to wait 5 years ???

Because of covid I can't get to Philippines in probably another two to three years.

We don't know what to do. She is crying none stop.

BI seems to be increasingly targeting Filipina’s leaving for  purported tourism so while it might work the chances of it working are reduced. Besides which that K-1 visa will be in her passport.

It’s their country and they can do it they want you.  But she won’t be “young” forever.

She has a visiting family member schengen visa. She hot granted in to Sweden because of marriage. But they seem not interested at all in what type of visa she has.

Her counselor had already decided she was to young to marry. Ignoring Filipino law. She just stretched it all out and demanded more papers to with us.

We want to try again but the thought of waiting several of weeks just to try again seems so irritating.

We were so happy when she got her schengen Visa. We thought "finally" and now they put this in us.

I have been researching Thailand now.

We have to book hotel and roundabout ticket to get in. Which means its gonna be very very expensive. On top of all the expenses we already put out.

I don't know how to fight this. Everything seems impossible.
