Update: we had gotten a second approval notice dated Aug 30 which was confusing me, but I guess that triggered things because we finally got our card about a week and a half later on Sept 9. Now to take a much needed long break from USCIS! I wish you all the best of luck. 

Update: By 2:30pm yesterday his case status was approved!!!!!!! I can't believe it. No interview, 2 RFEs (1 for medical, 1 for marriage certificate/USC spouse birth certificate, even tho I sent both of them in with the original application) I'm so so happy! Hoping the card comes in the mail quick so we can take a 2 year long break from USCIS

My i-485 finally got approved yesterday 07/13/2023... Saw it on the website. Filing date: 03/02/2023

We decided to do the medical exam. I don't think there's much I can do in terms of fighting the RFE, potentially losing green card isn't worth it. We got the courtesy email a while back but didn't consider submitting 693 until we got the actual RFE. He got a couple more vaccines that weren't on the DS-3025 (like varicella, tdap, 3rd hep) so maybe that's why the DS-3025 alone wasn't sufficient? 

Hi - We received the same RFE. I asked my congressman’s office to intervene, but the USCIS response was basically “we told them what forms we need in the RFE.” We caved and choose the path of least resistance - redid the exam last Friday. Hopefully it’s a quick approval once we send the results in (along with our marriage certificate, which they also apparently lost). If you can manage the duplicate exam, I’d highly recommend doing it. 

Woke up this morning 6am Cali time to three emails in the middle of the night and an approved EAD! Status shows card being produced.  thank you God!!

Don't assume that. You can ask emma I think. But nothing in our portal changed, however the field office sent us a courtesy email letting us know our case is with them and to send in more proofs if we want. From what I know an email from the field office does not happen every time, so if you are lucky the field office will email, otherwise try emma. Our case number starts with IOE

Yaaaaayyy... Congrats to you 🎉. So, one month for EAD. Seems like USCIS is moving fast and I pray they continue. 

It's only "IF REQUIRED" so yes, you might be overthinking it lol. Better to be safe than sorry tho so good ask. The only thing required is the DS-3025 for K-1. You shouldn't do 693 unless they ask.

My AOS got approved today! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 A day after my RFE was marked as received 😭 I'm so happy!!!!

Hey all! My partner had his interview today and we were approved! Now waiting for his visa to be ready and then he will be on his way 😊 the wait to get here feels so hard and long, but it is SO worth it when you get to this point. I’m feeling thankful, grateful and so excited. I’m wishing this same moment for each of you soon 💛

Finally received the coveted "in transit" email from NVC yesterday. NOA2 was 5/18 so it took quite a while. Looking forward to the next steps and to finally being done with all this!

APPROVED TODAY!!!!! NOA1 April 21, NOA2 May 19, got the notification via casetracker app close to 9am. 77000 group, no RFE. It took me over 390 days (I think 393 to be exact) but I'm thankful it didn't take me 400+ days like some of us. Though I am overjoyed for myself I know how hard it is to read of another approval and it not be yours, but have faith, it will come!!!!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!! I am soooooo happy right now! Updating my timeline now.

I never heard anything from NVC. I was expecting an email with a case number, but this came first! 

Hey that’s interesting that your embassy can contact NVC and at least give you updates, better than waiting for public inquiry response or NVC themselves. NVC website states they’re working on cases received from uscis around May 16 (but that date should be updated Mon/Tues) and I believe I read somewhere that it takes 2-3 weeks after NOA2 for NVC to receive paper petitions, so you should hopefully have some good news in the next week or two. Please update when you hear anything from your embassy as it may help form some sort of timeline for us! I’m 18 May so two weeks behind you.  

Don't start a DS-160 before you hear from NVC or your local embassy, filling out a DS-160 doesn't get you a NVC case number. I'm in the same boat(NOA2 6.May.2022). I've reached out both to my local consulate/embassy and tried calling USCIS. USCIS was of zero help(their automated phone system even threatens to hang up if you ask to speak with someone) and my embassy(Bahrain) told me they can't do anything until NVC gets my case. I did push back to my embassy on 24.May.2022 and ask them to reach out to NVC for me since NVC no longer takes phone inquiries, and they said NVC had not yet received my case at that time. I will follow up every other week with my embassy to reach out to NVC until I get the NVC welcome letter or email, to try and get the case number.
 
Believe me, I sympathize with your situation. In the same boat here. It really is out of our hands in that period where your case goes from USCIS to NVC. Without a case number there isn't much one can do. As stressful and hard as it is, we just have to wait.

Re, K-1 Visa:
What are we supposed to if we can’t call them? Most people call the NVC to get their case number as most people never receive the supposed ‘Welcome Letter’ from the NVC? How are we suppose to get our case number if we can’t call  I know there is the online enquiry form but the wait time for doing that is just over a couple of months  God I hope we don’t have to wait another couple of months to just get a case number
