As usual. And God help the people like me who have no reason to expedite at all. Another 6-12 months of waiting, wish I could just go to sleep and wake up in September 😂

I called the JM embassy just now. Got a prompt response. No IVR. I was advised that they are clearing up the backlog in Jamaica and once that is done, the NVC will send the cases they have there waiting. Based on her conversation, It would seem they've been working the cases and increasing the number of cases they interact with. I can't speak to any category but the individual mentioned that they are working on all IV cases and that they are almost through clearing the JM backlog. That is sorta good news but still such a long way to go. I'm really trying my best to be patient but it has been eight years. My goodness. I don't know about anyone else, but this process has affected my mental health a great deal and I am just ready for the silver lining. 
 
Lord knows that NVC backlog is going to be another hurdle but I would still prefer to hear that they have moved on to it. Sigh tears

I wasn't saying u were wrong hon, I'm saying maybe the person u spoke with got it mixed up or something. Cause remember the people who answer the phones are just agents. They're not the ones actually dealing with the cases and stuff so they could be wrong or misinformed. Cause there are many people with march and April dq and they haven't gotten an interview so that's why I said that.
 
We'll just have to wait and hear what the embassy says in their Live session this Wednesday. Hopefully it's not like every other one where they give us no information at all. I'm hoping they give us some actual numbers and DQ dates.

I am giving God the glory people.....praises belong only to Him and Him alone.  My kids got their interview date today.  I am over the moon right now!!!
 
The only thing though, the end of the email say, Kindly see attachment, but there was no attachment.  Hence, I am without the appointment letter with all the necessary instructions.  I sent them an email advising of this, so if I don't hear from them tomorrow, I will have to call on Monday.
 
I know God has been good to me.  I pray for a date and I specifically ask for a certain time, and God answered my prayers. Amen Jesus

Nope and unfortunately I think we have a long wait. This is a statement from them that they put in the observer today. So don't look for anything till atleast September.

I think they were at September 2020 when they stopped the interviews for IR1/CR1 so when they resume it will only be a short wait for you to receive your interview.

What was your visa category and did you expedite?

DQ July 06, 2020, No interview yet. The Jamaican US embassy only issued 7 F1, 4 F2B, and 9 F3 visas in the month of March. Safe to say, I'm not getting my interview for now.

Well they're going live on Facebook tomorrow. Let's hear what they say.

Jamaica NVC Process

Idk if thats true cause I'm early July and I haven't heard anything and there are people in the fb group who said they're March and April 2020 DQ and haven't heard anything either. And I'm pretty sure one of the people who said that, she was IR category. So idk what's happening in the embassy. Very confusing. I wish they would just come out with a statement and say which dq they're at.
 

At least y'all got letters. I haven't received a single thing. And I've been DQ since July 😐

Hope just dropped. Her visa is k1 so they get to schedule their own appointments. Her DQ was march of this year so she doesn't count smh. I did see another post where someone got an interview for April in the f2b category so they're working. They're just working slow. At this point I'm just gonna take a vacay and let the 4-5 months hopefully erase this from my mind

Has anyone heard anything about Family based categories? It's so discouraging. Husband interview got cancelled March 2020 and still nothing!

You asked a question if anyone interview had ever been cancelled. I said yes our was the first time. Now how was that unethical information? That didn't pertain to anything you asked lol? Just an update from US Embassy consular conversations. They said they have backlogs ranging in the thousands and they are currently only scheduling interviews in the single digits (less than 10 interviews per day). The cases where interviews were cancelled because of the pandemic are in the hundreds so they are working through those first. They stated that if you just dq this year, you're looking at a 6-12 month wait since there are thousands of people before you.
