Is your embassy even conducting interviews for tourist visas? I assume not.

*~*~*moved from “IR-1/CR-1 spouse visa process and procedures” to “tourist visas” - question is about visiting*~*~*
Your wife can return immediately. If you are already in possession of a tourist visa then you can come and hope to be admitted as a tourist. Whether you are admitted or not will depend on the CBP officer. You have a high burden of proof with a USC wife and a baby due, and proven immigration intent. But it’s worth a shot.
What you cannot do is use your tourist visa to come here and adjust status and “bypass” the wait for the CR-1.
I am sorry I did not include that I do not have a Tourist Visa. I need to apply for one. And yes I do not have intentions to do anything as such cause I have full time Job and would love to keep it.

If you have a tourist visa, you can come to the US. Need a PCR test 72 hours before your flight.
I don't have one but I need to apply for one.

Hey Guys,
The situation in India is worsening day by day and my spouse(USC) is pregnant here in India with me. Given the situation here and her condition she is planning to go back to the States. I want to travel with her so I can take care of her but my interview date has not be scheduled yet by the Consulate here in India. Due to the rise in cases the consulate is closed for 2 month or could be more if the situation goes worse. So I wanted to know if there is a way I can accompany my wife to the States.
Any kind of advice or suggestion would be amazing.
Thank you in advance and stay safe.
I have read the below thread But my case is kinda different. -

Dear Applicant:
We understand that you have a query regarding the resumption of services / cancelation of your appointment
U.S. Consulate Mumbai, in light of the rapid and severe rise in COVID-19 cases centered in Maharashtra state, is cancelling most immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments from April 12, 2021 onward, and will provide only limited mission-critical and emergency services. Your existing visa interview appointment scheduled for April or May 2021 is cancelled. Once the Consulate resumes regular consular operations, appointments will be made available and applicants will be able to reschedule.
If your biometric appointment is scheduled for future date, you may continue to attend your Biometric appointment as per the scheduled date and time at the Visa Application Center or you may reschedule both, biometric appointment as well as Mumbai Consulate appointment once made available.
For any updates on appointment availability, you may continue to check the important notice section on this website www.ustraveldocs.com/in.
Please do not contact the call center or customer support—simply login to your profile and schedule your visa interview appointments at Mumbai Consulate as available.
We hope this information is helpful to you.

Sincerely,
U.S. Visa Service DeskWow this is crazy I was expecting my interview to be somewhere in May or June. Seems like its going to take even longer now, given the cases in Maharashtra are rising. Pretty sure not leaving anytime before the end of this year.

This page may be helpful for you to see where India's processing is at: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?op6=All&op7=India&dfile=No&op1=&op2=&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5%2C6%2C8%2C10%2C11%2C13%2C14%2C15%2C16%2C17%2C18%2C20%2C21%2C22%2C25%2C26%2C27%2C28
Yeah following that at the moment. That is the only hope for any updates.

Expedites are only approved for certain circumstances, not because you're tired of waiting. The backlogs are huge, and there are lots of people ahead of you in the queue.
So with the given amount of backlogs. I am expecting mine to be somewhere around the end of the year? Maybe Next year I guess.
Thanks for the information though.4 minutes ago, JKLSemicolon said:The current NVC processing time is 223 days according to this VisaJourney page:
That data is worldwide, so obviously it can vary by country. Patience is required during this process and especially now due to the pandemic.
In the meantime you could fill out your VisaJourney timeline since that is what these kinds of estimates are based on.
Hey thanks for the data, I will go through it and also I will fill out my Timeline.

I am waiting for the interview to be processed at the US consulate Mumbai but there has been no update on the my CR1 visa yet. My NVC DQ was approved on the 20th of December 2020. It seems like I have arrived dead end. I know the Covid situation is going worse day by day. Just wanted know if there is a way to expedite the process or just to wait with patience. Any advice would helpful!! Thanks.
