Sorry I was trying to find the post on Reddit but they might have deleted it (I think a lot of the comments were bashing them for "Showing off" how fast they received their Advanced Parole)

I did see a case not too long ago where a person was in the same boat as you. They had submitted their AOS package but no AP earlier this year. They later applied for AP (about a month ago I belive) and they had their AP approved after just a few weeks! It's worth a try, there is nothing to lose.

If you check the USCIS processing times at

and input the following,
Form:  I-131
Form Category: Advanced parole
Field Office or Service Center: National Benefits Center
 
You will see that currently 80% of the cases completed within 9 months.
 
Bookmark the link and use it for all the forms till N-400.
 

My husband’s EAD was approved in April. We ended up calling SSA and they said his SSN and card were issued the same day as his EAD. So your husband could always call SSA to double check (though be prepared to wait on hold for a long time).
 
Incidentally, the first SSN card they sent my husband never arrived, so he had to apply for another one. That one arrived about 4 weeks later. 

I was able to add my husband to my existing bank account before he had his SSN. It depends on the bank. I was also able to add him as an authorized user on my Capital One credit card before he had an SSN. 
 
We were in the same boat, received bad info from the SSA office, and after 3 trips down there we were just out of luck. All because the first person told us it was "too soon" for him to get an SSN (which wasn't true) and they wouldn't allow us to get one after we got married. 
 
Regardless, it'll be fine. It wasn't that big of a deal for us to wait until he got his employment authorization (EAD). 

If you have previously filed an I-485, just include the NOA1 for the I-485.  The fee should be $0.

Your next step is step 16: get your SSN.  I would start on this 2 business days after arrival into the USA

Lagos. You should be able to get it the same day 

I could not have said this better myself. I am happy for everyone who gets to reunite with their loved ones but I also would like to reunite with mine. If my fiancé was here, we would be married already PERIOD. This is evil. They pretend they’re processing K1s but when you look at the numbers for K1 visas processed, it’s abysmal. Nobody deserves this. I cry every single day. My fiancé cries too probably not as much but this is terrible. I don’t know why they have so much power. At this point, it’s not about the pandemic because they clearly have the capacity to process 100s to 1000s of visas. Man I’m so angry and frustrated

Okay I’m here to whine because I find this to be ridiculous. I was looking at visa statistics for Lagos Nigeria and there were 6 K1 visas processed in March compared to 180
CR-1 visas 254 IR-1 Visas and over 1700 B1/B2 visas!!!! How is this fair???? I can’t reunite with my fiancé but they can process tourist visas??? And marriage visas are priority but not fiancé visas??? If my fiancé was here he’d be my husband. I’m so frustrated. Been sitting at the NVC for a year in two weeks!!! This is so unfair. I’m so upset. Sorry I needed to vent somewhere
